There really aren’t any other videos covering these hats so I feel like you really did them justice for those of us still on the fence or looking for a little more info. I am curious though, how would you reccomend going about finding the proper hat size? Unfortunately most of my stuff is “one size fits all” or just generally a bit big. Like I want to think the small size Coronado would be fine but at that price I wouldn’t wanna go blindly 😅

    This video is super helpful. I'm looking to buy at least 1 or 2 of Melin's hats, and I couldn't find any in stores (Nordstrom) to test out. I think the Odyssey will be my favorite as well. I wish they sold the Coronado without the rope. I'll probably end up getting an A-game as a secondary option though. I also have some flat bill hats that I like the look of, but the trenches looks way too deep. I'm not a fan of a bill that rest right about my eyebrows. You're right, it does make you look like a 90s rapper.. hahaha. Hopefully Melin will come out with a more shallow Trenches, and also a Coronado without the rope! Thanks again for this video, it has made me feel much more confident in purchasing online.

    Thanks for the review. I was torn between the A-Game and the Trenches. However I don't think my head is big enough to pull off the look of the Trenches. I'm probably going to get a couple colors in the A-Game and even a Beanie too!

  • @esuburu
    @esuburu 2 года назад

    Couple of questions: You said the Trenches you reviewed was your friend's hat. Was it the 58cm or 60cm? I'm just trying to gauge how deep the 58cm Trenches vs. the 58cm Odyssey Brick. And lastly, would the it be possible to trim the rope off the coronado, or do you think it would be too risky to damage it?

    • @therobbyreport9235
      @therobbyreport9235  2 года назад

      It was 58cm. I asked them about depth change in the various circumferences and I don't think the depth changes much. In my opinion I don't think you can cleanly trim the rope, but maybe you can find a creative way to do it. Hope this helps!

      Good question, I reached out to Melin and this is what they shared with me. "Switching between the small (56 cm), classic (58 cm), and XL (60 cm) changes the visor width and depth only very slightly, almost unnoticeable, as the front panels generally stay the same. What changes are the size of the back panels."

    Hey man, looking at the small Hydro Coronado. I have a 21in dome. You think I can tighten this hat without it looking ridiculous and puffing up the material awkwardly?

    • @therobbyreport9235
      @therobbyreport9235  3 года назад +1

      So, it's going to fit you pretty close to how it fits me in the video, my dome is about 21.5". You might have to tighten it 1 notch, and because it's such a shallow hat I don't think the material will look awkward. Depending on how you like to wear your hat and style, in my opinion the visor is very wide for smaller heads, and if you leave it flat or with a slight bend it's probably going to be wider than your head. You can see that a bit when I wear it. This is the reason I hesitate to wear it forward, but with the right bend in the visor I think it could work (again in my opinion).

    Is the snap back adjustable if the sizing is off? or if you decide to grow out your hair can you adjust it like a normal snap back. The sizing is throwing me off. I never usually need to know sizing for snap backs they are usually considered one size fits all.

    • @therobbyreport9235
      @therobbyreport9235  3 года назад

      Yes, the snapback is adjustable like a normal snapback. Do you typically have to adjust the snapback or you can wear them with all the teeth locked in? I think their 58cm is probably closes to a normal snapback. If you generally have to adjust to make your hats bigger than think about maybe going 60cm or smaller maybe go 56cm.

    • @HuntTrainCook
      @HuntTrainCook 3 года назад

      @@therobbyreport9235 so technically one size fits all? It doesn’t matter what size I pick to fit the circumference of my head? I just don’t understand why they have different sizes if it’s a SnapBack?

    • @therobbyreport9235
      @therobbyreport9235  3 года назад

      I wouldn't say one size fits all. It does matter to a degree, I have 56cm hats and people with larger heads that try them on have to wear them on the last one or two snaps, so that would be less than ideal if you are buying one for yourself. I think Melin's objective with the different sizes is to enable more people to wear the hats with all the teeth locked in or close to it, because that is probably most comfortable and looks better.

    What is the difference between a shallow cut and deep fitting cap?

    • @therobbyreport9235
      @therobbyreport9235  2 года назад

      It's tough to describe... it's like the size of the hat from the top of your head down. Good example is a deep hat for me can cover my ears so I need shallow cut, so the that sits above my ears.

  • @clutchfit982
    @clutchfit982 2 года назад +1

    If the Trenches was 56 cm
    would the fit some how still differ from the other 3 hats?

    • @therobbyreport9235
      @therobbyreport9235  2 года назад +1

      Yes, the 56cm would be the circumference so how tight it is around your head like the snapback adjustment. When I refer to the depth I'm referring to the top of your head down to like your ears. So for example even at 56cm the trenches would cover my ears where the others would not or at least not as much.
