I agree, good points. The car is quite unique and that makes it special. I still haven't seen one in my city when commuting. The closest I saw was a blue N line, which I thought would be an awesome color to have. I am sure people get confused when they hear the crackles and pops from a Hyundai cross over. Most crossovers only have style packages.
I have a VN and agree with everything you say. I choose the VN because the KN doesn’t have a manual option, the exhaust is tamer than in the VN and EN, the back seat space is smaller, the cargo room is smaller, and I wasn’t married to the idea of having four doors. But you can’t go wrong with any of the three N cars.
Nice video. All N cars are great. I drive the Veloster N for similar reasons for my lifestyle and exterior styling I like of it being unique, practical and so fun to drive.
This is how I made my choice on the Elantra N: Veloster N, love the looks, love the hot hatch... Only thing that killed is for me is 3 doors. Who cares right? But I use the back door a lot more than my trunk so that's preference. 2022 still uses old infotainment and older clusters, to each their own but I wanted something not from 2019. Wish it was more like the i30N (non Sedan) Kona N, test drove it. Love the seats, a bit more comfortable. For the price being slightly more than the EN yet lack more features kinda a turnoff for me. No sunroof, no dual climate, less legroom at the back, less trunk space. It does however have comfier seats than the EN, sit higher.. though you feel a bit more of a body roll on turns and digital dash kinda small imo. Elantra N, own it. Seats are good, keeps you in place but for larger folks it might not be of preference. It sits lower, has a less body roll on turns, aesthetically looks more aggressive, costs somewhat less than the KN and has more features listed above. Large digital dash is nice, light bar interior is cool, and has a bit more legroom in the back. Mind you I'm not hauling families around but every now and then I have a 3rd passenger and its nice to have. I have a lot of trunk space and overall I prefer the the ride height plus its easier to wash haha
I'm choosing a KN to double as a work truck/weekend autocross ride. The slightly increased height and larger rear opening (along with factory roof rails) make it ideal for my work storage and travel needs. Performance wise they're all so similar that unless I was building a weekend time attack rig nitpicking nuance is kinda silly. And yeah, I also feel it's the best looking one.
Looking to replace my aging WRX wagon and keep coming back to the Kona N. I carry a paddle board so a roof rack that will attach to rails is a big thing for me. I do wish it came with a manual transmission. Thanks for the review.
Hi Nathan from Archie in Australia, I own a 2022 kona n as well here we get the premium version which comes with a sun roof full electric seats and a bunch of other extras, I don't know if you guys get the same specs offered, that car just puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it, Love the honest feedback and perspectives you give about your car, really enjoy your channel.
Hey, Archie! Thanks for the comment! Yes, it's awesome that you guys get so many options, there a few of them that we dont get here in America, but nonetheless the driving experience is still incredible! I couldn't agree more about it putting a smile on your face, it's just an amazing vehicle to drive every day. Thanks for your comment and for supporting the channel, I'm happy you're enjoying. 😊
We don't brother and it really sucks. Every time I get in the hot car and I see all the blank buttons as I think about the cooled seats my old car had, I weep.
I agree with you Archie. I can’t wait to drive to work every day. I have a 2022 Kona N in Dark Knight. In South Africa we got ours full house like Australia. No options
I choose the EN because it was the fastest out of the 3 with the DCT and i just love the look of it so much. Ive always been a car guy and not a SUV/crossover person and the VN was a turn off with the door situation.
You summed it up perfectly when you said, "my wife and I want kids some day" the perfect and practical SUV that goes like shit off a shiny shovel and doesn"t cost an arm and a leg. Here in OZ we will never get the Puma ST or the Dodge, so it has no direct competiton here. A daily SUV that comes with a track warranty (its there if you want to) what's not to love 😁
The N don't light up, it has less cargo space than the Elantra, not as much room in the rear passenger seats, better handling, !0 more hp, I have looked at them and like the styling and choice of color in the Elantra and i got the sky blue because I wont attract attention. But both look like a blast. I get mine first of the run and due oct 11 to drive away
I like the car don't get me wrong, but if the market wasn't what it was, I would have purchased a used 2016 Golf R for the great performance boost with mods, AWD, and I just love the look. The new Golf R I think went the way of mini's where they elongated the hood which I hate, the headlights also look droopy to me. I'm going to mod the hell out of this car tho and see how it goes. I doubt this engine is going to be as friendly to mods like the golf's or say, the new CR corolla's, but why not. The lack of an AWD option really sucks in my opinion but what really hurts my after purchase bubble is now knowing all the features they removed from the EU version, including forged wheels dang. The old 2008 car this replaced had cooled seats, I miss them dearly.
Same way you would in any car. Either out the opposite side of the crash... the one side with a single door doesn't prevent occupants from getting in or out of that side of the car you know. The seatbelt litterally moves out of the way for that purpose.
@@Nosloveingneko having a Veloster N I can say most of the owners probably don’t carry 4 passengers, besides my self I’ve only carried 4 passengers when my sister and brother in law come in for Christmas, the rest of the time it’s just me and my one single friend, everybody else is married with children so they use there own cars. So for me it’s usually just two passengers total, or 3 if my brother occasionally comes along, but it’s only 4 people for like 3 trips on Christmas. The Veloster really is best suited for the same guys who would be happy with a 2 door car, because I’d say 99% of the time the back seat is empty or has cargo in it. The suv is better suited for someone who has a family, because the lack of 4 doors is kind of a nuisance, to be honest. But the safety problem is really no different from a 2 door car that seats 4, I’ve been in those cars and getting out really is way more of a nuisance than a 3 door car, besides waiting for front passengers to get out you also have to climb out past the front seat which was kinda annoying, but then again those car owners probably didn’t transport anyone in the rear like modern Veloster owners don’t transport 4 people….
No the back seat is a split seat I believe in the Elantra. In your video it is one solid seat but I have seen video's where the rear seat was split. I don't get it...Is one a Canadian model.
Agree but in my case, I love the extra ground clearance combined with smaller wheel base. I would have also even taken a performance hit for the extra grip of AWD but I don't really consider this car fast to begin with.
What a stupid statement every car gets updated / replaced. Even the Elantra N will be replaced. Using that logic, you would never buy something new as it will be outdated. Go buy one in 2024 and in 2026 you'll have the outdated model when it gets a facelift, bet you buy a new iphone EVERY year too
@@steveturnbull9542 I think Hyundai is going to start focusing on electric N cars tho so that shift is going to cost ICE N car owners I imagine. I read the team doing ICE N engine work got disbanded. To me, I just look forward to see if they come out with a AWD electric car with proportions similar to the Kona. The N74 is fire but I still have a sweet spot for Kona type cars.
@@carloscervantes836 All companies investing in electric cars should also be investing in the electric grid and power generation of nations. Actually not a "cheap" car at all. Hyundai has spent years making cheap cars previous to their newer generation of vehicles so they could use their profit from sales to invest into research, leading them to produce some really amazing cars. And most people don't realize that the person leading the production of the N series for Hyundai is Albert Biermann who originally headed up BMW's M series. So these vehicles are far from cheap.

Don't know what you'll get in USA but in UK and Europe the Puma ST comes with a 1.5-liter 3 pot, can't see that going down well in the land of the V8.
