Very true -- though it's awesome Audi offers the full gamut of options - S4 sedan, S4 wagon, and S5 Sportback sitting in-between in terms of practicality.
I do - just that Audi have a habit of combining launches of 4-5 cars into two days so one presenter does a bunch of Audi content all at once. This was John’s turn! You can see my recent stuff on the A6 Allroad, RS6 and RSQ3 for example. -Tom
You really don’t want the Diesel engine in the S5. I have a b9 s5 with the petrol engine (I’m in uk). Wouldn’t get the new diesel! You’re lucky in Australia
Why is "subdued" hilarious? I'm actually really self-conscious about the sound my car makes but also want to go fast haha (will probably end up with the BMW i4 I guess)
More than twice as expensive as a Stinger GT - why?! I bought a Stinger 2 years ago and it’s a fantastic car. Never had so many compliments from people of all age groups. Great job Kia!
well it is like trying to compare a Mcdonalds burger and a highly rated gourmet burger store. Yes they both have the same ingredients and both are burgers. It's just that one does it better
Our view is this: the Stinger is amazing value for the money, and very capable. The Audi S5 probably isn't worth *twice* the money on objective grounds, but it does deserve a higher price than Stinger. Refinement - especially isolation from road noise - is better, the engine is smoother, the calibration of the stability control is better, and interior build quality is even higher. That said, the Stinger isn't a budget vehicle - it is genuinely impressive in its own right.

The RS5 doesn't even have ventilated seats. To me that's a massive disappointment - especially here in Oz. Heck, even the Kia Cerato SLi came with ventilated seats as standard back in 2014.
@@heltunikt yeah and I think I was looking at a previous model, because I checked not long ago and your right! My next car which I will buying this year (retiring my A5) will likely be a Stinger GT.
Certainly not in sedan form. I wasn’t hugely impressed by the G80. An S5 would beat it on any metric apart from rear seat space. The GV80, on the other hand, is a very good car.
This car you lease then hand it back and run as major issues have a habit of arising as warranty runs out .where the Genesis you can own after the lease period probably be as reliable as a Lexus
One of the best looking cars on the market at the moment.
Agreed. Very tidy aesthetic.
I had audi a5 sline 5years...0 problems pure pleasure...
6:34 distracted by random Subaru when technically at work, what’s when you know this guy truly loves cars
Ha ha! Very good spot!
Good review. Note however the boot space is 480L, not 465L as you stated.
Why would you not show the space in the trunk??
Been waiting for this. Thanks for the quality review!
Mxm. You are showing us the boot, yet we are seeing you. Show us the boot
lol
Love watching A5s, my dream car is the rs5 from 2015 with the 4.2 v8. Now that sounds amazing
Excellent review. About the only unanswered question regarding my pending S5 Sportback purchase: Is Dynamic steering substance or hype?
Hype. I ordered one, maxed out the specs and the dealer told me not to get that spec. But I hear the sport suspension is a must.
Agree. I've decided to skip the $1,500USD dynamic steering.
@@afternoontiger9319 so. Being that you didn't order it you have no clue.
Just traded my c43 amg coupe in on this one, super excited to be back in the Audi family again...
Enjoy. What was the reason you ditched the Benz and went back to Audi may I ask?
Love the car
But not a big fan of the iPad on the dash
The old system with the rotary knob was a more subtle integration, we think -- but the higher resolution of the new screen is a good improvement.
love this car. Im in the market for a 2018/2019 version of this car. Good video!
Want one in Daytona Grey Pearl with the black optics package.
Great review as always John
This is John...
@@zaamuro8408 no, but I agree with the sentiment. Thanks!
@@Johnacles savethemanual had original comment as “great review as always Tom”
Nice but the S4 station wagon is more practical for family use
Very true -- though it's awesome Audi offers the full gamut of options - S4 sedan, S4 wagon, and S5 Sportback sitting in-between in terms of practicality.
Nobody buys wagons in the USA
Oh, if only the S4/A4 Avants were offered in Canada. We love wagons up here, but the SUV-crazy US gets to dictate what everyone in North America gets.
Tom, why don't you review Audis?

I think you should just claim all Audi launches. It should always be your turn.
John Law, excellent presentation guy. At 4:15 you even informed the capacity of the trunk, perfect.
Great Review ! Thought you were DJ Qualls I’m the cover art
Interior lacks built in screens thus appears dated but would be my preference after S4 Avant if I couldn’t afford the RS6 :)
Great video. 👏🏻👏🏻🙂. I have an S4B9 Avant. The V6 engine is a peach!
The S4 Avant is an awesome ride.
Well done, good review!
Love the Infotament screen
It's certainly a crisper unit now, even if it does lose the handy rotary dial.
@@chasingcars it looks fantastic but the dial should have remained.

Good review I wish you guys would give some pricings for Australia in all your reviews. Price is a point too.
Trust me, a diesel S5 doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.
My choice in the Audi range if its not a wagon
Me too, though an S6 sedan is also a nice get
There's Audi, and the rest.

Audi, Mercedes - 👍
BMW - 👎
I LOVE my bmw & it's old but still drives like a beast. I'm looking into an Audi but I'm NEVER letting go of that BMW. That car has been good to me
