So IRCC can be very unpredictable, some people get their SOWP approved with the same duration and some get rejected.…you just have to follow your mind and hope for the best, because people speculate a lot. Also applying for visitation is not a bad idea as well as you can always convert it to an open work permit once you get here, but I’m sure anyone you and your husband decide to go for will yield positive results!
But they said I can only apply for LMIA jobs and that takes months. please I need more information on this. Thank you for your replies as well.@@sisifolaa

My question is, When should the spouse apply in my case?Should he wait till my study permit is extended or can he do it when I am still in my first year?
Thank you for watching!! Yes he can start while you’re in your first year but note that once his application is approved he will only be given the duration you have left on your study permit and will have to apply for an extension once you get your study permit extended too

I’m not the sure application to bring a spouse would be approved as one of the major requirement is that the student must be in a DLI that allows you get a PGWP. To solve this though, you can switch to an DLI that offers PGWP and then submit your application.

Is it true and I was also told that I need to change the name on my offer letter to too my husband name. The name on my passport and offer letter still carry’s my surname. Hello, I don’t think all that is compulsory if you have a marriage certificate because I haven’t changed my last name to my husband’s and we were able to complete the entire process but I’ll also confirm to be sure, if otherwise I’ll drop another comment here ❤️

What if the spouse is enrolling in a DLI that has no PGWP, can he still bring his wife from Nigeria to Canada.
I’m not the sure application to bring a spouse would be approved as one of the major requirement is that the student must be in a DLI that allows you get a PGWP.
