Thank you for your video. If the PA is applying for a SOWP on behalf of her spouse after she has gotten her Study permit. Who needs to show home ties, the PA or the Spouse
Home ties are always required for the applicant

Thank you so much for this info, but what about a graduating student inviting his relatives or friends for his graduation ceremony and plan to stay and get a job in Canada
You can certainly invite your relative to come for your graduation. It is not always easy to convert from visiting visa to a work permit but it is possible if they are able to find a job before they have to leave Canada.

Hello! I am a full time student in canada and my study permit will end in 6 months. My questions is, can i still apply for a SOWP even if it is just 6 months left on my study permit?

I am on student visa and I have brought my husband and kid on dependent visa. So My husband is sowp and my kid we applied for vistor visa instead of study permit. As my kid is above 5 years old and he is studying Senior Kinder garden. I want to know since he is in visitor visa should he not stay here for more that 6 months evening have his visa approved till 31st mar 2025 or should I convert it to study visa?
With the new portal. I understand all other family members will be added as part of a group. So are you saying that the spouse should select work visa under type of visa. I thought you can only apply for a work permit once the study permit is approved. And applying at once?. Kindly enlighten me
You can apply at the same time. We do this all the time for our clients who can afford to all come together

During my research about traveling with spouse to Canada. There new law on open work permit. Please it same as work permit you are talking about?
It's not the new law. The new law does nifty cover students but just work permit holders in canada

You can apply together if you ahead all it takes of after she has been approved. It all depend on the strength of your application

Dear, my friend got a study permit in DLI school but the admission has no eligibility for work permit after graduation, pls can he bring his wife with him with open work permit or with visitors visa ? And when is the right time to apply for her, is it when the husband (the student) is in Canada or when he's still outside Canada?
Use visitor's visa because of the pgwp ineligibility. Such student still need to change school otherwise the spouse with a Visitor's visa wont still get an open work permit while in Canada with a Visitor's visa

@@tagbovictor1735 The only solution is for her to get a job with the visiting visa first while in Canada , then go apply for work permit at the Canada border with the USA, it is called flagpoling. She will then get instant work permit.

I applied for a postgraduate diploma program that will start by fall 2024, and with this new immigration law that was released, those studying in colleges will be affected in term of bringing their family, though I dont intend to apply for spousal work permit for my husband. I will be traveling to Canada alone whilst leaving my family behind. Due to my husband's business commitment in our home country, I plan to apply for a visit visa for him and my children so that they can come from time to time to see me. Pls is this a good decision?
