Lived here all my life. When I was 15 years old I was home alone and a kid broke down the front door. We stared at each other for about a minute before he changed his mind (about whatever he was going to do) and took off running. He jumped into his getaway car with two other boys. It's a dangerous neighborhood but what else can you do? I can't afford a million dollar home in North Dallas and I'm 30 years old. Single mom. Another statistic. After finishing my two years at Eastfield college (An associates in liberal science),I can't even afford to transfer to a university because the price jumped from 170 bucks a class to 10,000 k per semester not including books. My family was never against education but the importance of it was never taught by our parents... It was always "go if you want, but we don't really care." Not all of us come from well-off families. Yet all of us are just trying to survive. Despite all of this, I still keep a job in North Dallas and I've never once broken the law. It's easy to be judged by where you live by people who have no idea how hard it is to just keep living. As a single mom, all I want is for my son to stay off drugs and get a scholarship for himself so he can do what I can't seem to do right now. Two weeks into 2nd grade and his teacher tells me she's sure he's reading at a 3rd-grade level. Maybe it will take me years to finish and meet my goal of working as a nurse, but my ultimate goal is to have my son be a success story and break that cycle. Finish school on time and have HIS life straight before he starts a family. It's easy to judge when you have no idea. If a house was gifted to me here in pleasant grove. I'd readily take it and thank God for the blessing. Cheers.

My wife and I have a 2 year old and a baby on the way and we can’t be easy on this. We plan for the worst. We learn our escape and our position if we decide to fight. Oh and get a K9...
We know where to put my kid if we decide to fight. We make sure that our doors and windows are hard to break in. We have a emergency bag that we grab with an extra phone, med kit and cash.And we make sure all our doors and windows are locked at all times, unless it’s needed to be open. We remember how our house is set because it’s dark at night. We have a cheap WiFi camera for outdoors that let us know if there’s an activity, 6pack for 17$ door and window alarm from Amazon that makes an annoying sound when it’s open. We don’t have those expensive home protection.. but we make sure that small crooks like this will have a bad shift when they try to invade our home from every angle.
We did not buy all this in one shot.
We accumulate this in time,
I always own firearms so my wife has her too.
But the camera, is 40$ online brand is EZVIZ.
The window and door alarm magnets are 6 for $17 on Amazon. And get those cheap night vision online. It might not be the best, but it’s better than to be totally blind.
This situation is sensitive to me I’ve seen people got hurt when I was a kid.
