I genuinely like it this car. I just think it doesnt fit into the mustang lineup. They could have marketed this car as the next step for the focus and I would have given them a standing ovation.

Ruling?? Ehhhh I don't think so. Dodge hasn't really jumped on the electric ban wagon with 2 feet yet... they are still testing the waters. So far Toyota has come up with a battery cell that's more efficient, even better then tesla. So idk in the later years who will be top. I still think FORD was smart in doin this ELECTRIC PONY. And that prototype PONY is very fast. Even the feel is different then a gas.

Check out up to speed on donut media. They just did an episode on the ford probe and how it was almost a mustang. A 4cyl fwd Japanese mustang. @@Anomize23 Nah, "Fusion" isn't a widely known or historical significance that ppl would recognize around the world.
Also Fusion is associated with a plain mainstream mid-size car.
"Mustang" is more easily recognized international and familiarity that can easily build a relationship with consumers. Mustang is the perfect branding Ford needs to *successfully launch an electric vehicle ppl can trust.*

They haven't made it a crossover entirely, the actual Mustang is still around, they didn't do what mitsubishi did to the eclipse
also until they get to the battery/mileage efficiency to the same level as tesla,they probably needed extra room for batteries, and since sedans are being killed off due to lack of demand, why not debut your new all electric platform in a cross over/compact suv

@@josetobias1579 Sure. HP is just a measure of power or energy. The equivalent of 1400hp is 1,000,000 watts. Kilowatt hours is a measure of energy across time. So let's say you had a fan that used 100 watts. If you left that fan on for one hour, it will have consumed 100 watt hours. If you ran it for 30 minutes, it would use 50 watt hours. If you ran it for 2 hours, it would consume 200 watt hours.
From there, it is just simple math. If you consume 1,000,000 watts for 3 minutes, it equals 50kwh or 50,000 watt hours. If the battery is 100kwh, it could supply the engine for 1/10th of an hour, or 6 minutes. if it were 50kwh, it could run it for 3 minutes. I used 50kwh in my example because that is a decent sized electric car battery. The largest one I know of, in an electric car is 100kwh in the model S. There are limits to battery capacity in comparison to the car they are in because storage of X watt hours will always take up a given number of cubic inches. Eventually you end up with a battery larger than the car.
The drive train is a torque multiplier , it’s like 4000 lb feet of torque in that tire melter

I think it's a smart move as it helps keep the name alive because let's be honest the Mustang as we know it now won't be around forever. Making it a brand prolongs the name for years to come. PS love the tech videos :)

First time believe it or not I saw this car was in Forza 5 and I absolutely love it , the first electric car I've actually grown to love all and rear wheel drive you can do literally anything from drifting to drag racing to even rally events in this thing I looooove it

The f-series dominates, the mach-e is the only ev outside of Tesla to garner substantial consumer interest, and Ford bronco reservations are off the charts. Not exactly the signs of a company destined for bankruptcy.

I still don't get why the Mustang Mach-E wasn't just called the "Galaxie" or some other futuristic nameplate from the past.
If they called it the galaxie people would get mad because it the original ford galaxie wasn't a suv or electric
@@LRKarts33 so was the mustang. It was never electric or a suv so thats why I'm still not calling it a mustang.
It may not have been an electric SUV, but it hasn't been produced in 44 years and was *always* a big, quiet, comfortable family land barge, AND it had a station wagon variant, so it would have been a much better fit for the Mach E than the Mustang.

take this drive train and put it into the 2017 GT frame and call it the GT-E, that would be insane to see and would prob be a nice rival to the new Tesla Roadster

Next gen mustang will almost certainly have a hybrid model with v8 rwd + electric fwd for ridiculous hypercar awd power. Probably will debut approcimately the same time as the awd hybrid c8 if I had to guess. Just give them time.

@@Boomtendo4tw Something about the character of the thunderbird would fit more as a Lincoln product now. As ford has become the performance and aggressive brand, thunderbirds, while fast, were mostly known as being cruisers. Make an ev thunderbird with magneride suspension so it's highly tunable, sell it as a more restrained and upmarket Mustang under the Lincoln brand, there you go.
