The granny (in spirit only) in me wants to put all of those buttons into my cookie tin! We all have one! 😂
Yep and a box too.😂
I don't have a button tin, but I have several jars with all kinds of buttons. So I agree with you. CL
Loved playing with the buttons in grandma’s fruit cake tin when I was a child.
This granny wants to throw my buttons into the woods so future treasure hunters can find them🥸🥳😆
@@maybeebuzzy2265 ohhhhh I love that!
Hi Kyle! I think that it's amazing that relic hunting is acknowledged nowadays. I've done it all my life (I'm 64) as I was raised on a West GA farm that was over 100 yrs old. Back then, they used trash to fill in ditches. Farm equipment, old jars, broken jewelry, clothing, broken appliances, toys etc. As a kid who was 7 yrs younger than my sister and 9 yrs between my brother and I, I roamed our 55 acres in search of arrowheads and relics of the past. My parents couldn't understand my desire to dig into the dirt and find all that "junk". Thank you for letting me know that there are others like me!! I love all your videos!✌️❤️
Odd Fellows badge has an eye on it. Maybe it's one of theirs.
Beat me to it👍
Yep
Hi Kyle andJames, that cool water spout looking thing is actually a spout from an old teapot! Awesome hunt, sooo many buttons!
Black buttons are called jet mourning buttons. Early plastic is celluloid and rubber is vulcanise. The eye plate could be from fancy horse tack, given its age.
That broach totally looks masonic, the all seeing eye started in Egypt and was adopted by the freemasons. It could be a book cover decoration or a men's belt buckle but it totally looks like freemasons. That is an awesome find! And all those wonderful buttons; they are so neat! And you guys found a ton of them! So sweet! Thanks for letting us join you on this hunt!❤ Thanks Kyle!
I dont think its masonic ( at least nothing I have ever seen in a lodge ) I think it may actually be a ward against the evil eye.
The symbol of the evil eye dates back as early as 5000 BC in Mesopotamia and has roots in Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, and Hindu cultures. Its really interesting that it is found across so many different religions and peoples.
I thought the same thing!
Buttons bring in $1000 each
or the e vil eye/not all seeing eye!
Is there a shortage of buttons in the USA.?
I can't believe how many buttons you found. Especially the white ones. That's crazy, I've watched a lot of treasure hunters, and they have never found that many. Maybe they came from a dress maker. I have never seen so many buttons in one place.
That piece with the 5 black glass stones in it (and the space for another stone) looks possibly like a mourning brooch. They were worn when someone you loved passed away and you were mourning their death. I’d say Victorian era. Lots of great buttons Kyle!
Looks like a badge or pendant for the Masons So Cool !!!!!
Love it when you go treasure hunting with James. Your enthusiasm and excitement is so infectious. The blue and teal green buttons are my favourite finds of yours. James is such a wealth of knowledge. My favourite new ( for now ), Wild Kyle ism is “ you know I like my little baby parts” LOL. Awesome video Kyle and thanks so much for sharing this adventure with us.
How fun! I have never seen men get so excited over buttons before 😅. That was great 👍😁
My Grandmotherinlaw gave me a Christmas cookie can full of buttons and 4 of her daughters that's still alive, I made them chimes by stringing glass, she'll, wooden, plastic and metal buttons and made the daughters a chime. Turned out very beautiful. U guys have a great find. Stay safe and God bless
I would love to see all these relics after they are cleaned up. I also watch a channel called "Northern Mudlarks" and I'm always surprised to see how beautiful everything is after a good cleaning. I also thought I saw a few beads in the dirt. These old beads may be from the 18th century and are called trade beads or some are czech beads. Maybe you could do a little research on some of those items and let us know what you find out. Sooo interesting. Great video!
That silver looking eye might have been a badge from a feternal organization and it might have hung on a ribbon. Just a guess, but the black glass are
morning buttons. The are call French jet. A lot less expensive item than a jet button. The thing you all found are awesome. Thanks for sharing it with us. CL😊
Wow, just wow. My button hoard was screaming!!! That clip at 21:46 might have been a stocking clip from a garter belt
Hello friend. Hair piece is correct. Love the adventure and pray Ur staying strong. Our 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 goin up. Love U guys. God bless😊🥰
I love finding old buttons. I have a old bottle filled with old buttons. I also have old marbles in a old jar.
The eye reminds me of the Odd Fellows.
It amazes me how many folks are going about their business with their cloths open to wide world. Since you found a pile of buttons! You found Stumpies. Black beads was for funeral clothing. Poor people would dye their cloths black and change out the buttons.
Kyle - The eagle button, flat button and the all seeing eye medal (possibly Masonic) were amazing! A nice hunt with plenty of relics!
OK, I thought Masonic medallion, but it is way closer to an Oddfellows piece. Couldve been silverplate.🙂
You need to get a dollhouse lampshade and make a leg lamp out of your leg!
That many buttons, I wonder if there was a paper mill close to the water. They used to make paper out of old clothes back in the day. Btw, that water thingy is called a tea pot spout. Lol Hotta love it when the word won't come out even when you know what it is you're holding.
WOW!!! That is Definitely some Great Finds!!! Some of that stuff you need a metal detector to find!!! Way way way cool stuff!!! Thank you for sharing your adventure with us!!! God Bless Us All!!!
Love that eye piece and the tombac flat button. It’s def from the late 1700s. Great hunt
Awesome finds that eye thing I think is either "odd fellows" or "free mason"
Hello 👋 from New York you guy's found some Amazing finds my favorite definitely was the Black glass mourning bottom Thank you for bringing me along with you guy's I can't wait to see you find next 😊
Thanks for another great video. I love James’s input and knowledge!
Barrett is what the round beads in a line is.
Teapot spout❤
Some body broke the button jar!
This is my first time watching.I love it.I love watching digging up.old relics. It makes me wonder.how the person looked that owned it.
That beaded piece looks like it could have been part of a lady’s barrette for her hair. If not that, maybe it was part of a brooch.
"you know how I like my baby parts" 😅😅I lost it
Masonic logo..the eye inside beams. Most probably a belt buckle or badge. Black glass, also called jet glass, was used to make mourning jewelry.
Yes that is probably off of a hair clip and those are faceted Jet Glass😊
That eye is very nice also the mourning black buttons
The eye buckle reminds me of the Pinkertons symbol
the best find is probably that white button. looks like 1988 or 1989. it came from a button-up shirt that was owned by Robert. he was walking in the woods and a bulldog clawed his shirt and ripped a button off. that happened on a Wednesday. good find!
OMG 😂😂😂
What fun finds & such a dreamy site! If you haven’t done this before, Try flashing a UV light on your buttons, some of them might glow.
Brilliant channel keep up the good work guys❤️🤍💙
BUTTONS !!!
Love the video. 💯You and James were on a roll finding buttons. Keep Smiling. Stay Safe. God Bless.❤🙏
The Brooch looks Like a vintage Vermont Copper Style Pattern
The All Seeing Eye!
There is a Massachusetts couple who collect glass bottles. They have their own button beach. They are on RUclips.
My grandma use to keep jars full of buttons 😅
Somebody spilled their button tin.
One yen. Nice.
Pretty cool man! I actually have that same doll leg missing the brown boot but it has a blue ribbon yours almost looked green but i couldnt see it too good.. I have a full leg in a smaller version. Awsome video , I look forward to the next one.
I would think that with as many buttons an suspender clips you guys are finding i believe you guys might be where an old paper mill may have been located. They would have people bring in old jackets, shirts an what ever clothing they would want to get rid of an they would shred then into threads to mix in with the paper they would produce. Congrats on all your finds.😁👍
The "watering thing" was a tea pot.
I would be filling up a button box. I loved going through my granny's buttons
Great video brother man! I can’t wait to get on some more relics next time!
❤ 💙
Dude you found an Illumanati belt buckle!!! LOL
Hi Kyle!!! It's a button jackpot! LOVE the buttons! Ok, back to the video!
Y'all need some "Working Hands" cream after digging in all that dirt. The silica in the soil dries all the oils and moisture from your skin!!!lol
Button, button who’s got the best button? 🤣
Found out from the mud Larking ladies that they're used to be an ad to make a pin cushion doll break the legs off of a China figurine and turn it into a pin cushion doll so that's why you find a lot of those broken legs😊
Kyle, the button you found right before the skeleton key had a small, black ball button next to it.
The "beads" could be jewels on a brooch.
The black button is a mourning button
You should open up a museum with all your finds Kyle Meg teeth glass bottles and baby dolls heads 😅 gemstones etc
Hahahahaha yes!
super cool site to look for relics. would be interesting to screen a lot of that dirt, although it would be a lot of work
Very cool stuff , I love that brooch that thing is crazy cool
All those "shell" buttons were from a USA freshwater river mollusk, that was hunted to extinction.
They would use crude diving bells, even a mop pail over the head, with air pumped in to harvest them!
Those buttons were still being made, 1940's -50's!
the eye broach was likely part of a free masonic uniform from back in the day. you could probably show it to a local lodge and get more info. very cool find
The black glass buttons are Mourning Buttons, used on Black Mourning Clothing and jewerly. The Eye with Sun burst looks to be An All Seeing Eye from Mosonic Icons.
Kyle, that was a teapot spout
Time for some art projects!
Absolutely!
The cloth button at 14:54 looks like a tatted (very fine thread which is krocheted) button.
The piece with the beads attached could be a girls hair barrette .
Button jars from the west are cool too.
Piece at end of video, almost looks like horse tack decoration. The chest strap, center. Possibly. ?
The round brass objects aren't rivets theys grommets..tent or goncho prommets
That buckle was probably Paris, Kentucky, lol 😊. You should keep all that scrap metal too and weld it together into a sculpture.
That's an awesome idea!
So many buttons! Someone must’ve lost their button tin.
I love me buttons!
Way cool buttons, but I thought you would find at least one marble. :-)
Not a single marble somehow haha!
I really wonder what you found today! But I'm sure it is awesome!!
Brooch or maybe a masonic belt buckle😊
Was there a clothing manufacturer in the area? Great finds today.
The hair clip could be made of Bakelite.
Why are there so many vintage buttons and sewing notions there? Was that a home site, or a factory? Some one was a seamstress for sure!
You should do a video with nuggetnoggin sometime. Everyone would love to see that one.
The 1851 button was a suspender button i believe. The cobalt blue button is my favorite by far. Surprised there were no marbles there though
I was surprised not to see any marbles too!
Wait never mind you're screening lol
That fine tooth comb is a nit comb
Hi Kyle! What do you think, Are the rivets weights for holding down the edges of long skirts? Other ideas of what they are from? From what you showed in this area which seemed to be mostly remnants from clothing debris primarily....was there bunches of other glass, metal debris that was not shown? Thanks for video!
21:50 Suspenders clasp?
Thank you for your inspiring videos, always watching.❤️⚓🛟🛞🧭
i think its a detectives cap badge 1890s
Just curious what do you do with all of those buttons? You could make one of those childs books. The ones that you say use to button a shirt or use a zipper for a small coat.
Maybe think a secret society or something.
Groundhog skull
The buckle with the eye could be related to masonry. It could be related to the all seeing eye. ??
21:52 sock/stocking clip ? The jeweled piece part of a broach or hairpiece? I wonder with the piece that has the eye on it wasn't maybe a Bolero, rather than a broach. It strikes me more as a manly piece rather than something a woman would wear for sure. Great video, as always! Love and hugs to Mama and y'all Kyle!
Illuminati confirmed
20:11 looks like a barrette
WildKyle, your item with the glass gems at 26:52 I is a Victorian ladies hair bun comb with broken teeth 1 tooth on one end of it?
