I totally agree, I was like I hated it in the beginning but now I’m all for it and want it to win. I feel like it has that loreen feeling like it hasn’t been done in ESC before.
@@MelinaJamiee agreed, when I heard the snippet I thought it was awful and it felt mediocre when I heard the whole song for the first time. But after listening twice afterwards I started liking it and now it’s my favorite.
This song is a huge grower! His video already has double the views of any of the other Melodifestivalen contestants. It pulls you in and is a huge earworm - sometimes songs don't have to be deep and meaningful - sometimes we just want songs to be catchy that put us in a good mood! I have a feeling he'll surprise everyone and win - and it would be deserved.
@@HammerfallJonas I think so. His video is on nearly 400000 views now compared to Dottor's 150000 and Tusse's 174000 which are the next closest two. If this popularity continues to votes (fingers crossed 🤞🤞) he should hopefully win.
I suggest you try to listen to it a couple of times more. The more you listen, the more you'll like it. Trust me, I didn't really like it the first time I listened to it, but it grows on me the more I listen to it.
We still need to work on that “Touth”.. 😅 Tusse is pronounced Tuss-eh. Rule of thumb: No letters are silent in Swedish. Same thing with Eric Saade. It is not “Saad”. It is “Saad-éh”. 🙂
Oh no, really hoped you would like the song, I love it. However, I needed to listen to it a couple of times. And I really think it has a deeper meaning. The black figure is the dark side of himself that doesn't make him love every minute, and he is fighting his dark self, and in the end the dark side dies. So that is absolutely something I think many people can relate to.
Actually I am quite good at not getting too emotionally involved in national finals. I really am. But at this point I am just going to be mad af if Sweden doesn't send Eric. He is the only one who gave me winner vibes immediately and I believe he is the only one who is able to fight for Swedens 7th Eurovision victory. Sure, there is other great songs in Melfest, but they would be channeling Top Ten at best.
You already know it's one of my favorites, I understand what you mean about maybe it's a bit too chill and effortless for Eurovision, and the lyrics may not be deep, but I still love it, and maybe it will surprise at Eurovision, if it gets chosen.
It caught my attention as soon as I saw it and I think that's a very important quality for an eurovision song? It almost has this interactive feeling, if you know what I mean. I do love the song but the staging takes it to a completely different level for me, looks like the dance and the outfit was on the funny side for some people but it all worked for me. He said that when he wrote this song he was in a state of complete euphoria even tho this year was the darkest year he's ever lived, I guess that darkness mostly comes into play through the staging. I can imagine myself looking forward to this one all night on the grand finale.
In my opinion, Dotter is definitely my winner and I love the song, Tusse is the favourite and will probably win, but I honestly think they should pick Eric as I think it will have the best impact at Eurovision. I think Eric has the best overall package this year and would be the most likely to give them another good result, not that Dotter or Tusse wouldn't but maybe not quite as high as he could potentially get.
the best song in melfest 2021 and after the two Loreen songs, the best song ever to be performed at melfest! Eric's song is next level! if this does not win, we finally know that Sweden has no taste!!!
@@Aliren380 honestly, bulletproof was million times better. the hair flip will go down in history as one of the best stageshows in Melfest. But Little Dot is quite a downgrade from that momentum and sadly does not catch me at all. in comparison to bulletproof, little dot seems boring and that's a shame considering her talent.
@@Aliren380 I loved Bulletproof but I have to admit Little Tot is nowhere near as catchy or attention grabbing as Erics song. I also dont feel that her staging fits the lyrics of the song.
Everyone saying its a grower and to listen to it a few times, as I have already said. That doesn't help on the night when the majority of people are going to hear it for the first time and judge it there any then, and when the next song comes on they will have forgotten about this
I actually think this would be the best choice for Sweden. It is very modern, cool and hits dofferently. Tusse is very eurovision by numbers, would land middle of the road. Danny has a great song but it is more on the generic side. Dotter‘s song is great lyrically but lacks impact. The Mamas have a good song but would get lost in the mix at eurovision. Eric‘s song is very captivating and has an instant hook to it. Not every song has be a lyrical masterpiece, it is about creating a mood, which this song does nicely :-)
Everyone is saying here in the comments say that the song is amazing but you need to listen to it more times. This makes me worried that he will flop like Benjamin Ingrosso in the televote if he is chosen.
I think the Benjamin situation was a bit different. Based on what I could feel and see on the night of the final in 2018, and talking to other people who watched eurovision, the main problem with Benjamin's performance was that it did not connect emotionally with the audience. It was a nice, sleek performance but it felt....empty. Eric on the other hand (at least in my opinion) connects with the audience better, and comes across as more free and sincere while performing. So while every minute as a song does not scream winner, I think Eric can sell it, both in melfest and eventually at eurovsion if he gets chosen. And for what regards the need to listen to it more times, I think it's earwormy enough considering I got it stuck in my head after listening to it just twice on saturday, but it was just 7 songs. In Eurovison 26 songs will perform in the final and Eric's might get lost in the middle of so many catchier songs.
I feel that he is the only one that has the whole package at Melfest this year. Catchy song and a great performance and staging. He seems to have the hype coming into the final, currently his song has double the views of the next closest competitor,Tusse, on the Melfest RUclips channel (290k to 145k) and its number 2 on Swedish Spotify. I think its between him and Tusse for the win and I would much prefer Erics song to get chosen.
I really I cannot get past the dancing it tickles me.. I cannot take it seriously.. it's a earworm and the songs good. I dont want it to go though, I think there is better. I totally agree with you!
I wanna song that I can listen on my headphones. I don't need vision to get excited about music. So without staging this song is above average. Song should grab attention straight away. People got only 3 min. No time to listening all over again
Do not forget to have a look at Sanremo....... we are eager to know what you think. Many songs last night, I liked Annalisa. Her song is not original, but according to me she can even sing the shopping list! 10 is the title, it is smooth, flawless typical italian song.... simple, but a small jewel and very well sung. I do not know, I just love her, esc or not esc apart! Thank you.
Eric is a virus, this is not my cup of tea AT ALL but I'm all the day like "nanananana". The lyrics are not amazing, but he's not known for that (Popular, in a lyrically level, was quite weak), and despite that he gives a good show, dances amazingly and gives you great three minutos of his charisma, and THAT'S a good time indeed. I just love this, I really enjoy HIM as a performer.
😂 That was the most diplomatic way of putting it ever! Eric can't sing live to save hos life, but he's a great dancer 👍 /Swedish so I'm allowed to call him bad 😎
I was disappointed with Eric Saade - "Every Minute". His song this time wasn't bad, but I didn't think it was as good as “Popular” in 2011. I don’t think the inclusion of strobe lighting at the end was necessary, considered it wasn’t used earlier in the song. When I watched Melfest 2021 Final online live from the UK yesterday evening, I ranked Eric Saade 10th on My Eurovision Scoreboard. I'm surprised he ended up 2nd in the jury vote and 2nd overall last night; in my opinion he was over-rated for what the song was.
Monumentous: an action or event which is large in both task and it's impact on life (emotional or physical) I feel well justified to refer to Eric Saade as monumentous a hybrid of monumental and momentous.
After "Popular" in 2011 this is a huge disappointment from Eric Saade. Just like you said, the song is quite pleasant, but definitely not a winning candidate for Eurovision. Frankly, I'd be quite disappointed, if Sweden chose this as their representative, as there are a few better entries in Melodiefestivalen this year.
This is a decent song and performance, I think. But Saade's singing voice isn't the best. Deserves a spot in the Mello's top 5, but it ain't my winner.
The scenography and dance is the only thing I believe is good with this number. I believe the song, the lyrics and his voice isn’t strong enough. I also have a problem with the extreme dramatic dancing and the fact he is singing about sex?
That will never happen. Not at Melfest and certainly not at Eurovision. A Swedish newspaper polled 14k people after Melfest semi 4 and he won the poll with 27%, next was Clara on 25% and then The Mamas on 23%. He also has double the amount of views of the other participants on the Melfest RUclips channel and his song is number 2 on Swedish Spotify. Would not be surprised if he wins the televote.
I really think people are underestimating how well this could do both on mekfest and in eurovision
