Grade 3 is a full tear and won't heal on its own. It'll just stop hurting, I waited 3 months after I broke my ACL to get surgery. I was rock climbing and roller skating without it, but the knee could slide in a new way that would damage the cartilage over time. I have photos of the ACL 3 months after the break, they had "healed" into two separated balls of connective tissue. Trying to grow stronger but without any remaining material to grow upon. I would recommend you seriously consider getting that grade 3 looked at again.

Another patient of his that came in with the same injury didn't follow the protocol strictly from the initial injury and needed surgery 3 weeks in. Hi Bryan, I had also a fracture at my ankle at the age of 55 in 2019 and have to keep my food calm for six weeks. I think it was too long to keep it calm. I documented this too in my playlist. Before I broke my food I was really active and danced a lot. That was the reason that I recovered very fast and now I don't have any problems with my ancle. I am very happy that you are publishing new methods to heal faster because the most doctors are going the old way to keep the injured parts calm but I think it is not necessary. You really look great you are an inspiration for me. I am now 60 years old and hopefully not die too so I can follow your results and get more infos.🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
One question: In terms of your biography, you continuously mention your time as a sleepless and depressed entrepreneur who did not prioritize health adequately. However, by doing so you built the underlying cornerstone of your today’s ability to value health (e.g. by having the perfect sleep each night). What would you do, Mr. Johnson, if you would not be prosperous? How can you help the masses, not the privileged if your intention is to honestly support others on their journey?
The Achilles contraption looked really cool. I've been hoping to see something on recovery. If you could do a video on disease impact and recovery whenever you get sick that would be great.
@@ignacio6655this is just my uneducated take but I imagine that going on regular walks or hikes outside would help in “exercising” the eyes. It strains our eyes whenever we look at an object from one distance for too long ie being indoors and staring at a screen or book. When we walk outside though, our eyes can focus on multiple objects that are short, medium, and long distance. This helps relax our eye muscles.
This video came out in perfect time so I wanted to express my gratitude. I fell down a travertine stone stairs in Mexico (it was raining and I slipped) and fractured my tailbone. I am in agony and feeling the same frustration in becoming so slow at doing everything. I’m going to explore shockwave therapy, PRP and more thanks to this video! You are making a huge difference and soooo appreciated Bryan! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! ☺️
2:40 But you actually CAN work out with such injury. You just need to work other body parts, which are not hurt. So basically all upper body work and some isolation for other leg and even for injured one is still in play. Or is it because it medically advised not to do so?
I’m 45, it’s been 8 weeks on a sprained ankle. I’m back to exercising but I’m not sure about a sprint. I landed on it while working in the yard and can tell it’s about 75-80%. If you can full sprint after 6-8 weeks, I’ll be impressed. Best of luck B!!!
Definitely goes to show that even in our quest for longevity that life is inherently unpredictable, and sometimes the fun stuff is a little dangerous. Wishing you a speedy recovery - eager to see what insights you make on recovery. I've also been dealing with a sprained ankle (thankfully not as bad as yours) and it's a bitch.
I assume living like this does come with the paranoia of wanting to protect your body from any potential illness or injury, which I assume would be quite tiring? Really interesting and good luck healing! I’m a med student in the UK, and find this stuff fascinating
A/ Please try to explain why you were able to get injured so easily. I am curious since you're so healthy. Weak bones? B/Bryan you should check your biomarkers and do another video exploring the impact of how the injury made parts of your body age. Also track and explore how much faster you healed compared to the average ordinary person who doesn't eat healthy or exercise
02:20 how would you know which therapy works best for that kind of this situation (for your own body) if you try all of them at once? One or more of those therapies may actually do more harm than good, or affect another therapy, there's too many variables. Or the spirit is to try all possible options to maximize the recovery?
this is great!, I myself broke my ankle and tor off my ligament in November 2023, but didn't realise it was that serious until the pain continued until end of december during my snowboarding trip... due to the piss poor healthcare in Europe (mostly due to the fact i had to move between 3 countries hence had to start from scratch 3 times) I was only operated on end of oktober of this year (time had dissintegrated my torn ligament so i needed an implant). Maybe useful for the one person that reads this who has a broken bone: when i broke my wrist last year (scaphoid fracture), doctor told me it will be 10-12 weeks in a cast because it's a bone with limited blood flow (or something along those lines). I was out after my second check up, which was at week 6 but around week 4 i didn't notice any pain anymore and could pretty much use my hand for everything again, of course still restricted by the cast. What i did: I took multi-vitamins, i took vitamin D on top of that since it was winter, upped my protein intake, and took minerals (calcium, zinc, magnesium). Other than that I made sure to hydrate well and try to pay extra attention to a healthy or balanced diet. and kept using my hand for things that don't put pressure on the bone that was healing. I kept going to the gym as well, which got me some looks from some people but whatever. Mostly trained legs obviously, but i also found some pulling exercises that didnt hurt or feel bad that I did ocasionally. note: this is not scientific evidence, i could've been lucky or just someone who heals fast, but i think it's worth a shot if you don't have access to all these fancy therapies. Besides that, it's also good to do these things even if you're not healing a broken bone.
That Dr. Steve Sampson was awesome. He took the time to explain and show everything in detail. He left no stone unturned and no question unanswered. He made absolutely sure you knew everything about what was going on and what to expect. That's respect. He made sure the patient was a participant in care, rather than a spectator. I wish all docs were like this. You didn't give any information about the peptides you used/ tried, how often or how much.

I get that a lot of people see life as being about love, happiness, and doing what you love. And I can see why they think that, but honestly, I disagree with that logic. For me, the growth and the injuries, even the struggles, are what make moving forward worth it. I don’t see it as just about finding comfort or happiness-it’s about pushing through challenges and valuing the journey itself. The new phase of human sounds cool, but feels shallow.
15:46 I had the same injury playing football. Foot went into a hole and fractured ankle. Going up and down stairs on crutches was the worse part. Stay safe.
Goodbye snowboarding!! It’s pretty normal as you get older and injuries are easier and take longer to heal to give up certain activities if the cost/benefit doesn’t make sense. I’ve given up a few higher risk sports in my 40s and I don’t miss them, there are other ways to introduce fun novel experiences that are less taxing on the body. I really enjoy scuba diving as depending on how you do it, it’s an exhilarating hobby you can do into old age (if you’re careful and don’t go too extreme with it). All to say, swapping out higher impact/extreme sports with other novel experiences less likely to break bones and tear ligaments is just smart living as you get to midlife. We had our teens and twenties for a reason! 😊
also a reminder that your life could be taken by a sudden unexpected event making your endeavours in vain, you need luck to supplement your longevity efforts
I exercise daily but decided to take a week off to rest my joints . The strength and endurance loss was depressing but I was able to achieve PRs within 2-3 weeks after. Dr Attia also related a similar experience. I’m not 100% sold on this formula so next time I will cycle down instead of halting. Your episode also reinforces my thinking that exercise selection is crucial especially for countering age related decline. The lesson here is “Don’t Break”.

Exactly, he looks younger than alot of people in their mid 40s. Is he the youngest looking? Obviously not but he's only done this "project blueprint" for only 2 or 3 years.
Not to say there isn't progress, but seeing someone on camera from the distance between them and the camera, to having it compressed and uploaded to YT and then watched on your phone is entirely different than seeing someone in person. At a church I used to attend, I would sit far back. The pastor looked impressively young from my distance for being 48 years old. But one day I walked up to a meet and greet, and within talking distance I could notice a lot more of his skin imperfections. All that to say, I'm almost certain the things going on here are helping a person look younger, it's hard to know from a YT video that was filmed from a distance. Plus the videos are recorded under optimal lighting conditions etc.

I broke my angle 4 months ago, this is gold. I wish I had recovered that soon. I was 3 weeks in a cast and on crutches and other 3 weeks walking on a cast shoe. After that, rehabilitation. Thank you for sharing your experience!😊
Bryan, you wanting to avoid certain sports to reduce the risk of injuring yourself again is totally reasonable. I would suggest however, that actively training your ankles probably has a better longterm outcome, especially given that you already had multiple sprained ankles. I sprained my ankle on two consecutive summers, the second time was just while walking over an uneven patch of grass. A short while after that (unrelated) I started bouldering as a hobby. Without realising, I trained my ankles to the point of being able to jump down probably 2-3 meters from the wall onto the mat without problems. I don't do bouldering anymore, but still do a lot of balancing exercises. I never had any problems with my ankles since.
This is a very important part of blueprint research. Trauma is part of life: automobile accidents etc. trauma / accidents are the one part of your protocol you have not really taken into account (except perhaps risk avoidance?). Coming up with protocols to deal with this sort of acute trauma would be a great experiment
13:04 The sock marks around the ancle, is that due to swelling from the sprained ancle? Thank you for taking us along on your recovery and these different treatments, Bryan❤
Bryan if you start bouldering or rock climbing you'll eventually have bulletproof ankles as your proprioception with your ankle will be top notch and you'll strengthen the ROM and ankle muscles :)
The fact that you sprained your ankle dancing is fucking awesome. Just shows how much passion you have for having fun. You'll be back to 100% in no time.

For anyone interested: 1. HBOT is obvious treatment that Bryan missed. Speed healing and has added benefit of lengthening telomeres which is anti-aging regardless of increased healing speed. 2. PRP literature is not very convincing, shouldn't hurt but the benefit isn't clear. It does work for other things like hair loss. 3. Bryan mentions laser, but doesn't seem to do red light & infrared, literature here is very convincing, has no down side, and isn't expensive. 4. He mentions peptides, but doesn't go into details. As other mentioned, BPC-157, TB500, and some others are strongly recommended (pentadeca arginate, sermorelin etc ...). BPC-157 can be even taken orally in the correct form (arginate salt), though I suspect subcutaneous or intravenous is more effective.
Just before Halloween in 1994, I hairline fractured both my ankles and I was 17 years old. It took a good five months to get back to 95% and I still have certain issues every now and then. Another patient of his that came in with the same injury didn't follow the protocol strictly from the initial injury and needed surgery 3 weeks in. He said many doctors will push patients to have surgery because they make more money doing that and they know it's very challenging for people to wear a brace for that long.
@@meowunboxing6919yes! I tore my MCL, and it healed. ACL is a whole different ball game for sure

Brian you're an inspiration to me, I've over the past year followed you and have tried implementing more tips off you into my life.

Hi Bryan , can you make a video about eye health , There is no video about it

He uses vibration device to increase eye fluid in morning
I also broke my tailbone and was in a lot of pain. It may take some time but a tailbone usually heals very well and I no longer have any pain.
Looking good man. Keep it up. You’ll probably heal fast
2:40 But you actually CAN work out with such injury. You just need to work other body parts, which are not hurt. So basically all upper body work and some isolation for other leg and even for injured one is still in play. Or is it because it medically advised not to do so?
But it takes energy and nutrients away from the area that needs to be repaired.

Those things do not have any negative side effects, its either they jave a positive effect or no effect.

Hello, Bryan! My 76 year old Mother slipped on loose rocks while we were hiking on my birthday, and she received two avulsion fractures to her foot and ankle. I am sorry this happened to you both; she is in physical therapy for it and wears a stabilization boot and a walking boot. I am excited to forward your video onto her. Best wishes.

The doctors I've seen in private clinics in the UK were also like that. They have time to talk to the patients, and charge you a lot for that.
Almost certainly BPC157

@@travistubbs2182 he did. Also these peptides are not proven effective in a research environment yet, all we have is.. peoples word for it.

Welcome to the club my friend, this happens to me every year :)
@4:01 you should put up an older foto from back in the days, when you were older😂

The lesson here is “Don’t Break”.
i think fracturing your ankle while dancing is about the most middle-aged injury lol. i hope this man re-assesses whats important in life, because he is actively throwing away his remaining. live life, dont try and reverse or preserve it. you can slow it down sure, but time will only ever move forward.
bro he looks like hes in his mid 30s now, you can literally see the progress
@@justSomeUserOnYTno one is comparing how he looks in person to how he looks in a RUclips video. We are comparing how he looks in a RUclips video versus how he looks in a RUclips video.
