I bought my first cros in burlingtons for $8 9 years ago. Still works..bought 2nd pair for 20 dollars this year. The back strap broke quickly though. And rubber is degrading although still serviceable..getting much softer. Comfort is king.
So weird. I bought a pair of Crocs before heading off with my band in 2010 to Mozambique to play a really cool festival on the beech called STRAB (Subterranean Rhythm and Blues). I tried them on in the shop, didn't think they were all that comfortable, but they did fit - the salesperson agreed - so I figured I just needed to give myself a bit of time with them. I've never really been a sandals kind of guy. But I was heading down to the whitest, cleanest, most remote beech-side resort I'd ever been to in my life at the perfect time of year weather-wise for five whole days, and I was only actually performing on the fourth of them. I was preparing for the paid holiday of a lifetime and wasn't ready to miss any opportunities that might come about to compound my enjoyment of it. I paid for the Crocs, took them home and packed them and there in my bag they stayed until we arrived at Ponta Malongane Dive Camp and Resort. The following day, myself and my band mate Al hit the road and drove the seven hours along the freeway, including a stretch of it replete with moon crater-sized potholes scattered about making the tarmac look like dark grey Swiss cheese, all the way to the southern-most border of Mozambique where we I parked my little blue Peugeot and caught a ride in a four-wheel drive truck over the duney beech sand roads until we arrived at the resort and because we were early, I chose a spot to pitch my tent no more that a hundred meters from the shoreline in a small clearing of soft greenery about three minute's walk from the main stage we'd be playing on that coming Saturday night at 20:00. Once the tent was pitched, I wasted no time putting on my swimming trunks and brand-new Crocs and hurried out of my tent toward the beech. I wasn't fifteen paces from the tent when common sense kicked in and I thought to myself, "No way am I gonna be able to stand these shoes for another second." My goodness, I have never had feet so uncomfortable in my life. I left the Crocs next to my tent in plain view of any and every person attending the festival. Now, I'm not used to my property hanging around unsupervised on account of the part of the world in which I live. I didn't see any need to create a sign saying "Free Crocs to Weird and Needy Feet." I simply expected them to disappear at some point during the next few hours while myself and my band mates splashed happily about in the warm, tranquil, early winter and therefore sharkless (more or less) ocean. For the next five days I had no need for shoes of any kind at all. The biggest threat to my podiatric well-being was the occasional seashell or poorly extinguished cigarette butt. The though of wearing shoes didn't cross my mind for the rest of the festival. I didn't bother to check on the Crocs. I was sure they'd have been permanently borrowed by the end of day one. Low and behold, day five, once I'd deflated my mattress and shaken off the sadness the thought of returning to Johannesburg came with, I climbed out of my tent and there was a local nearby evidently collecting alms from festival-goers. I told him he could have my tent and everything in it. He was of course very grateful. He toook the tent down with a deft skill that beggared belief and packed away the inflatable mattress along with the sleeping bag. I looked at the ground and the Crocs were still there! I told him please to take them too - that I didn't mind at all. He politely refused. Now that I've related my Crocs story, I'm sure it's completely understandable that the video I just watched spun me right 'round, baby, right 'round.
i loved reading this did you ever wear a pair of crocs ever again? ive always hated them and thought they were uncomfortable and hideous and i love flip flops
It's because of its water resistant property. At the same time higher heels & fairly good comfort makes the crocs very captivating. It's bulky appearance makes it unique. These are the factors that made it World famous.
The Italian shoes design mentioned in the video would be closed toe "zoccoli". These are normally used in hospitals and kitchens for sanitary reasons and are ugly, white and perforated. Scholl's "clog supercomfort" shoes are a good example of how they look like, although the originals had wooden soles.

Cross-training shoes are designed for versatility, allowing wearers to engage in a variety of physical activities, from running to weightlifting. They often feature a combination of support, cushioning, and stability, making them suitable for a wide range of workouts. These shoes have evolved to cater to the diverse needs of athletes and fitness enthusiasts.
I really like my Crocs sandals. They aren't as ugly as the original crocs, but have the easy to clean material, so they are excellent for wearing to the beach.
Here’s my advice for the thumbnail: It feels like there is so much going on which is very unpleasant to the eye. There’s too much text, I’d suggest that you take out the “UGLY” from the background. Furthermore, the “crocs” on the shoe is unnecessary; everybody knows the brand just by seeing the shoe, so there is no need for it. A title suggestion: How a Man Made Billions Selling Ugly Shoes Good luck! I hope that your video does well!
I don't care what people think, been using crocs for over 12 years now. I literally buy them because they are COMFORT, I couldn't care less about anything else and that's why they win, no other casual/flipflop/home shoe comes even near to the comfort of crocs. Heck I can even go to shower with them and out, never slip and get unwet super fast, there is just no bad use for them beside sports/heavy duty activities .. and that's not the reason they where made of or what they try to compete with, so that's 100% ok.
You didn't mention that in 2006 the movie Idiocracy was the catalyst to their success. The movie executives thought they were so ugly and dumb that it was perfect for the films wardrobe. after the movie had done so well the Crocs were selling at shockingly high volumes. That's a HUGE part of their story.

Your Voice!!!😍😍😍Thanks for the Videos
It's because of its water resistant property. At the same time higher heels & fairly good comfort makes the crocs very captivating. It's bulky appearance makes it unique. These are the factors that made it World famous.
Crocs started to get popular because of Vine. The vine Creator Christine was always pushing Crocs and that's where that started. IMO.
Nope , it started in the movie idiocracy .. there it went of
The Italian shoes design mentioned in the video would be closed toe "zoccoli". These are normally used in hospitals and kitchens for sanitary reasons and are ugly, white and perforated.
Scholl's "clog supercomfort" shoes are a good example of how they look like, although the originals had wooden soles.
Its not the look but functionality that makes crocs great. Now the customization helps too..
Looks down.. nods to the Crocs. Thanks for the awesome content!
This channel is actually so good, like I would have never known these backstories otherwise. :)
5:46 that intermission/chapter change music reminds me of skrillex ruff neck bass song
Woww.. what a presentation MagnatesMedia💖💖
I have always seen them as a type of flipflop/slides/watershoe, not an actual daily shoes
then im sure theyre all _really_ thankful your opinion doesnt matter.
@@snarevox They are made for that and they are easy to clean, so that's perfect as watershoe
And I wear them every day
@@TaiNguyen-pb6cf cool story!
@@snarevox it provides insight, it tells crocs that they failed marketing their shoes as daily normal footwear if that was their goal
@@hellothere6627 oh thats right, whenever theyre in need of some "insight", crocs marketing team comes directly to magnatesmedias youtube comments so they can find out what @hello there has to say.. i forgot.
I wear crocs because they are so comfy
Is this the full video?
It seems to end too abruptly
Mahn you doing the most, congrats my top creator⭐💯
Thank you for the information and recent uploads
So glad I found this channel
They're fine product. Bit over rated and overpriced though. Here in the Philippines, any single pair, regardless of the design or size costs at least 60 dollars
they are very high marging. they cost 4$ to make. they had to increase the price several times because they last so long. most people that buy a pair wont need another for several years.
Crazy not worth it, I literally forget about my crocs as it was not all that
it doesnt cost like that you probably mistyped 60 pesos not dollars
@@doejan8549 go to their bgc branch and be my guest lol. 60 pesos? You won't even get a decent slippers here with that amount nowadays. Such a troll.🤣
@@techdaddy31 The average monthly salary in PH was like 45000 pesos... Spending $60 is 3242 pesos. 7% of your monthly salary for Crocs is insane. No way it costs $60 there.
Intriguing story. So well presented. From someone who has always felt a visceral repugnance for these things!
The editing in this video master class
don't know about design but this was the most comfortable shoes I ever use
Watching this as a Crocs vendor in Port Harcourt, Nigeria❤❤
The editing is ✨masterpiece✨
I don’t know how you put out such a crazy amazing Content, and have such a broad spectrum of so many interesting and cool topics. Just had to comment on another awesome video on your channel worth binge watching

“Ugly goes public” -MagnatesMedia
😂😂😂😂
hey who makes your thumbnails there amazing!
you make the best business videos!
i like the abrupt ending lol, for youtube retention🤣🤣
Autoplay took me to the next video, but I had to come back to hit the like button. Fantastic content as always 👌
Nice information 👍
I really like my Crocs sandals. They aren't as ugly as the original crocs, but have the easy to clean material, so they are excellent for wearing to the beach.
world's worst shoes = crocs
Crocs is the perfect example of the consumer not knowing what they want until you show them.
they r not ugly. they r multipurpose durable and comfortable . very suitable in hospital settings. they r good for kids too.
keep up the great work and im surprised actually saw this quick
Here’s my advice for the thumbnail:
It feels like there is so much going on which is very unpleasant to the eye.
There’s too much text, I’d suggest that you take out the “UGLY” from the background. Furthermore, the “crocs” on the shoe is unnecessary; everybody knows the brand just by seeing the shoe, so there is no need for it.
A title suggestion:
How a Man Made Billions Selling Ugly Shoes
Good luck! I hope that your video does well!
No they don't I've never even heard of the brand. I thought it was a video about people killing crocodiles to make shoes lol
I remember I cried when my mom bought this shoes for me way back. But now God! I have like 8 pairs all for fashion.
I have like 10 pairs of the salehe bembury crocs- things are addicting lol
@@Conrad45 Tell you man. Addiction and trends on new levels.
These shoes truly are hideous
I bought a similar shoe with brand name "Cross" cost me around $5 and it's still working fine.
Love your videos, keep up the good work
I personally despise Crocs, the little handle at the back really rubs into your skin if you wear them for long enough.
Good for you. if i wore one i would think my shoes on my own foot is ugly and hang my head in shame.
There are MAD slides just as or more comfortable out there (oofos are my personal favorite) but I hear what you’re saying about their resilience
You didn't mention that in 2006 the movie Idiocracy was the catalyst to their success. The movie executives thought they were so ugly and dumb that it was perfect for the films wardrobe. after the movie had done so well the Crocs were selling at shockingly high volumes. That's a HUGE part of their story.
they are really comfortable i like using them indoors
