The new starter experience is SO SHIT. One of the worst I ever experienced. They need to redo all that if they wanna pull in players who stay. Beyond that it's a good game I guess.

As a former long time Wow player who also switched to FFXIV a few years ago, good luck and have fun. Like most MMOs the beginning is always "slow" but it gets a lot better.
And like the most MMOS, after some time, you get worn off, fun ceases and you end up bored and leaving the game for other.. It is natural and innevitible :(

There is the Lodestone from the official site, where you can see and filter out all the guilds/FC who are currently recruiting in your server. You can also see people in shout chat advertising their FC in-game, as well as inspect players individually on their FC to see if their recruitment is Open or Closed, what kind of content they cater to (icons show if pvp or hardcore raid or if it's social only etc), how many members they have, and how long their FC has been in existence.

i didn't know if i would like it either, but im about level 33 in the MSQ and i really cant see why people diss on it so much. it's a complicated game as MMOs are and i think it does a great job of introducing you to the core features. people are just impatient and too used to flying through leveling in modern retail WoW

Pvp players would not be able to get into FF, any PvE player on the other hand should just stop playing wow and switch over as soon as possible.
He gonna have grind a long time to get the amaro mount. I think he'd enjoy the challenge of getting the blue mage morbol one though. You got the recuit a friend ones too. Kinda makes me realise one of the hardest things about going from wow to ffxiv is that he's king in one, has so many rewards and acheivements that starting from scratch in a new one and being a noob all over again could be kinda jarring and possibly offputting.

heres the thing 1 of the things that made wow the best MMORPG, customisation, the fact that endgame in ff14 leaves no options for customisation of gear really is offputting to say the least, an mmo should give players options, ff14 is lacking in a lot of areas, the raids might be better designed themselves, but everything else about the gameplay is sub par compared to wow, the leveling experience, design, customisation, UI and interface options

You could get Harika mount from shadowlands launch regardless of the covenant. You needed a Venthyr player to pull out Harika but you can loot the mount regardless of your covenant. So you got one more point on that challenge.

I been playing FFVIX for about a month. I'm glued to it, at first I was eh then it started to get good then better then very fun with alot of content that I never experienced that WoW never haves. Now I'm mount farming, got all heavensward mount now, going for cool looks, relic weapons, just so much to do in this game which is awesome. Ppl say ffvix sucks I even said that then gaved it a try and now I see WoW don't have 85% of what ffvix gives and community there is very very helpful which is a huge plus instead begging in WoW then hatred and fights come. I'm glad I quit WoW for ffvix having a good time finally.

Can someone explain the 1v1 mount off rules? I don't really understand the point of keeping score, seems like they just pull mounts until someone doesn't have any more mounts to pull. Instead of taking turns right after eachother, they should each go twice (once to set a mount, and once to match a mount). Player 1: Picks mount Player 2: Matches mount (if they can't, they dismount, giving opponent a point) Player 2: Picks mount Player 1: Matches mount (if they can't, they dismount, giving opponent a point) This system actually allows players to out-score each other, meaning they can set a proper win condition.

@Rick I will Explain The Time Lost Proto Drake to you. He truly is the most legendary Mount in any MMORPG history. I'm going to explain him like how I recieved this Legendary Mount 9 years ago in 2012. Tlpd is known to be a once a week spawn that does fly around in an area known as storm peaks. He has 4 spawn points and can spawn at anytime around once a week. He shares a spawn with a dragon known as Vyragosa. Vyragosa does not drop a mount and spawns more often the TLPD. So you have to sit for days non stop to see TLPD, but remember there are others looking for him as well so you could lose him even if you see it. When I camped him, it took me 6 straight days of non stop camping to finally see him. Luckily no one was around and I messed up when he spawned and he started to fly away. I was able to tag him and bring him closer to waterfall spawn point ( 1 of the spawn area) and kill him. I promise, in terms of receiving any material item, I have never felt this joy in MY entire Lifetime. I have purchased new cars, motorcycles and a house IRL and still TLPD was something else. Granted when I did this I was in college with no job and on summer break. To me, TLPD will always have a special place in my heart as the best Mount in Wow or any MMORPG ever made. They have now made him tagable which I have to admit hurts me meaning you can get a group and have them camp all spawn points and everyone gets the mount. I did it in hard mode where I was against everyone..horde and alliance. ( I am an alliance Night Elf Hunter) so it made it that more special because it was only you and you alone who could get him. Love Time lost Proto Drake. There are people who have played wow since Vanilla who still do not have the mount. Met someone who camped him on and off for 10 years never got him. You have to camp him non stop and it's hard but when you do you will for sure get him. Hopefully I explained him well. Truly a Legendary Mount created by Blizzard.

WoW is special. I don´t think you can completely replicate the feel that WoW gave you with another game. There´ll always be something to return for into WoW, I think. Even though, probably not as frequently.
I would say that at this point in time most of your viewers are ex WoW players. So it will be nice to see you playing something different. Although I don't think the experience will be good to play FF14 while streaming, reading chat and being followed by a lot of players. Well, at least you will make good money with the stream.

I left wow for Runescape.. where farming and herb/potion making actually make a difference end game instead of just being a new grind. Runescape professions just make more sense they actually stay relevant. Quests are like the ones on Final Fantasy, meaning more story and mechanics instead of just go kill X... X amount of times.. Favorite part of Runescape is being able to produce my own end game supplies... and the quests. Wow I just skipped the wow text everytime cause very rarely a wow quest actually had any fun mechanics.. besides kill whatever.. or farm for this object... FF online I loved the more realistic graphics.. and the overall quests were like runescape with more mechanics and overall immersion into the story.. Wow just gives you a cutscene and thinks this is a fucking story quest... what a fucking joke... wow only did one good thing in years.. shadow lands level squish for the whole world.. making every expansion and dungeon more relevant.. sadly not relevant enough.. they should have actually made their world more like RS in terms of how items get replaced.. Just add better items.. level 60 items from vanilla should still be level 60 items.. just not as good as future level 60 items.. making all dungeons and items more relevant each expansion... wow killed their entire world with every expansions killing the last.. previous content. Runescape you can go kills some past previous content and still get decent rewards that will stay with you late game... wow you cant even do that.. and bliz even fired their art team.. apparently cause unique item meshes dont exist anymore... nor does new unique looking tier.. every expansion now just assumes you will do previous content for transmog without actually adding in any new looking gear worth transmoging.. overall new item designs just get ignored. They just re color shit and maybe add a few new basic item designs for when leveling.. getting greens and quest rewards.. but these item designs are just piss fucking poor cheap assed Wee ones type of shit its like they just hire toddlers to draw some awful new designs... look at all the different unique looking items all the way up till wrath.. after that item appearances start to dwindle and become less in variety.. till eventually you get too shadow lands and burning legion ect that have like practically nothing new.. besides some trash new green item designs that end up being used for blues and epics.. Fact wow is also removing spit emote to appeal to thin skinned karens/snow flakes.. makes it even less appealing game knowing they will just censor everything that offend people.. instead of telling them to just grow up.. and deal with life.. what some people find offensive others find fun or funny.. too fucking bad.. if an emote upsets you in any game or being t-bagged after being ganked/killed you dont need to play games.. period cause you take everything too seriously to the point your not even having fun playing a game... fucking pathetic and sad... / spit on everyone thats offended your feelings are insignificant to my own like your opinions ahahahaha too fucking bad.. make me laugh with a reply showing me your offended XD

heres the thing 1 of the things that made wow the best MMORPG, customisation, the fact that endgame in ff14 leaves no options for customisation of gear really is offputting to say the least, an mmo should give players options, ff14 is lacking in a lot of areas, the raids might be better designed themselves, but everything else about the gameplay is sub par compared to wow, the leveling experience, design, customisation, UI and interface options

You could get Harika mount from shadowlands launch regardless of the covenant. You needed a Venthyr player to pull out Harika but you can loot the mount regardless of your covenant. So you got one more point on that challenge.

I play both games wow and FF but my main is FF. I havnt played wow since classic came out and before that only for like 2-3 years on and off. But seriously everyone talks about what FF does better but nobody talks about the mount game which WoW has on lock by miles. I been playing FFVIX for about a month. I'm glued to it, at first I was eh then it started to get good then better then very fun with alot of content that I never experienced that WoW never haves. Now I'm mount farming, got all heavensward mount now, going for cool looks, relic weapons, just so much to do in this game which is awesome. Ppl say ffvix sucks I even said that then gaved it a try and now I see WoW don't have 85% of what ffvix gives and community there is very very helpful which is a huge plus instead begging in WoW then hatred and fights come. I'm glad I quit WoW for ffvix having a good time finally.

Can someone explain the 1v1 mount off rules? I don't really understand the point of keeping score, seems like they just pull mounts until someone doesn't have any more mounts to pull.
Instead of taking turns right after eachother, they should each go twice (once to set a mount, and once to match a mount).
Player 1: Picks mount
Player 2: Matches mount (if they can't, they dismount, giving opponent a point)

@Rick I will Explain The Time Lost Proto Drake to you. He truly is the most legendary Mount in any MMORPG history. I'm going to explain him like how I recieved this Legendary Mount 9 years ago in 2012. Tlpd is known to be a once a week spawn that does fly around in an area known as storm peaks. He has 4 spawn points and can spawn at anytime around once a week. He shares a spawn with a dragon known as Vyragosa. Vyragosa does not drop a mount and spawns more often the TLPD. So you have to sit for days non stop to see TLPD, but remember there are others looking for him as well so you could lose him even if you see it. When I camped him, it took me 6 straight days of non stop camping to finally see him. Luckily no one was around and I messed up when he spawned and he started to fly away. I was able to tag him and bring him closer to waterfall spawn point ( 1 of the spawn area) and kill him. I promise, in terms of receiving any material item, I have never felt this joy in MY entire Lifetime. I have purchased new cars, motorcycles and a house IRL and still TLPD was something else. Granted when I did this I was in college with no job and on summer break. To me, TLPD will always have a special place in my heart as the best Mount in Wow or any MMORPG ever made. They have now made him tagable which I have to admit hurts me meaning you can get a group and have them camp all spawn points and everyone gets the mount. I did it in hard mode where I was against everyone..horde and alliance. ( I am an alliance Night Elf Hunter) so it made it that more special because it was only you and you alone who could get him. Love Time lost Proto Drake. There are people who have played wow since Vanilla who still do not have the mount. Met someone who camped him on and off for 10 years never got him. You have to camp him non stop and it's hard but when you do you will for sure get him. Hopefully I explained him well. Truly a Legendary Mount created by Blizzard.

WoW is special. I don´t think you can completely replicate the feel that WoW gave you with another game. There´ll always be something to return for into WoW, I think. Even though, probably not as frequently.

I left wow for Runescape.. where farming and herb/potion making actually make a difference end game instead of just being a new grind. Runescape professions just make more sense they actually stay relevant. Quests are like the ones on Final Fantasy, meaning more story and mechanics instead of just go kill X... X amount of times..
Favorite part of Runescape is being able to produce my own end game supplies... and the quests. Wow I just skipped the wow text everytime cause very rarely a wow quest actually had any fun mechanics.. besides kill whatever.. or farm for this object...
FF online I loved the more realistic graphics.. and the overall quests were like runescape with more mechanics and overall immersion into the story..
Wow just gives you a cutscene and thinks this is a fucking story quest... what a fucking joke... wow only did one good thing in years.. shadow lands level squish for the whole world.. making every expansion and dungeon more relevant.. sadly not relevant enough.. they should have actually made their world more like RS in terms of how items get replaced.. Just add better items.. level 60 items from vanilla should still be level 60 items.. just not as good as future level 60 items.. making all dungeons and items more relevant each expansion... wow killed their entire world with every expansions killing the last.. previous content. Runescape you can go kills some past previous content and still get decent rewards that will stay with you late game... wow you cant even do that.. and bliz even fired their art team.. apparently cause unique item meshes dont exist anymore... nor does new unique looking tier.. every expansion now just assumes you will do previous content for transmog without actually adding in any new looking gear worth transmoging.. overall new item designs just get ignored.
They just re color shit and maybe add a few new basic item designs for when leveling.. getting greens and quest rewards.. but these item designs are just piss fucking poor cheap assed Wee ones type of shit its like they just hire toddlers to draw some awful new designs... look at all the different unique looking items all the way up till wrath.. after that item appearances start to dwindle and become less in variety.. till eventually you get too shadow lands and burning legion ect that have like practically nothing new.. besides some trash new green item designs that end up being used for blues and epics..
Fact wow is also removing spit emote to appeal to thin skinned karens/snow flakes.. makes it even less appealing game knowing they will just censor everything that offend people.. instead of telling them to just grow up.. and deal with life.. what some people find offensive others find fun or funny.. too fucking bad.. if an emote upsets you in any game or being t-bagged after being ganked/killed you dont need to play games.. period cause you take everything too seriously to the point your not even having fun playing a game... fucking pathetic and sad... / spit on everyone thats offended your feelings are insignificant to my own like your opinions ahahahaha too fucking bad.. make me laugh with a reply showing me your offended XD
