I have been a seamstress for 40 years, and now a quilter. I ALWAYS learn something new when watching your videos. Even the small things like pressing toward the grain, not stretching fabric when sewing, and measuring your inner boarder are valuable reminders that need to be repeated for this old brain. Thank you for giving the joy of quilting to us. I love your videos ;)
Donna, I appreciate that you teach as you demonstrate a putting together a new pattern. Thank you.
Beautiful as always Donna!!
You are just an excellent teacher ♥️ thank you 😊
Cool quilt. Color pippin! 👍🏻👍🏻
I just have to say that your videographer is really good! Thank You not only for the very helpful tutorials but on the great job of the video-ing! Everything is so very clear and easy to understand as well as see! Thank you so much for these wonderful videos! Great work!
Hello! I'm Brazilian and I'm very happy with your channel. I like the way you teach us and I like patchwork. Thank you very much. I'm learning a lot.
I enjoy watching you you Mat at work I haven learned a lot of good things to make my work better I have been guilting since 1989 I am self taught but I am always open for new ideas thank you very much
I use my camera often when designing, sewing and laying out blocks. Thanks for all of the great tutorials
Here is what I like about Jordan Fabrics' videos. They give you the 201 level info. I go to MSQC for the 101 level stuff and inspiration. But when it ends up a little wonky, I know I can turn to JF tutorials to try and figure out why. The explanation on the bias really did solve a lot of my problems. She has covered the topic briefly in other videos. The bias/ironing is absolutely why my new quilting adventure often ends up looking...hmmm...wobbly. I need to get on board with finger pressing. I also now really understand cutting and ironing on biased fabrics. Thank you for helping me take my new quilting habit to the next level. Onward and upward!
Hi . I love your videos because you explain very easy way , how to sew quilting projects. Thanks
I like the Patchwork, i like the quilting. Beautfull.
Love this quilt ! I have a BUNCH of batiks I think would work really well with this pattern. I have to stock up on grunge fabrics though. I will be making this quilt. Thank you SO much !
This is a very pretty pattern and you chose some beautiful fabrics for the quilt. I've been watching your tutorials,(all of them, the last couple of days) from what I have seen, you are the best quilter that I have ever seen. I have been sewing my own clothes for forty years,, since I was 10. I know a good sewer when I see one.
I have made this quilt before but couldn't understand why it went out of shape!?!? Now I know about pressing on the straight of grain!!!! Thank you so much Donna. As a beginner, I thought I had done something wrong, but didn't know what it was. You explain things so well and you are always willing to share hints and tips. It means so much to those of us who don't have anyone to teach us. Thank you again and hugs from Ireland. xxx
Beautiful!
I love all the helpful hints you give about piecing and pressing.
Love all the tips about sewing bias squares.
You give so many excellent tips! Thank you so much! I enjoy watching you sew!
I agree, the pressing tips are so important.
Currently going through all your older videos and this is definitely an awesome quilt pattern and SO EASY omg. Great work!!
You are really on a roll lately - I can't keep up with all your wonderful ideas, much less SEW them! All of them are beautiful and "do-able". Thank you for great inspiration!
Love this quilt
Very pretty quilt.
Love your projects
beautiful layout!
This would be beautiful in Christmas fabric and colors.
Great quilt, Donna. Love it.
Your tip to press in the direction of the grain when dealing bias edges makes so much sense. I wish I had known it when I was wrestling with a quilt that was all bias edges. The star could be enhanced by the quilting pattern, but it is fun to have to look for it.
Donna I enjoy watching your tutorial and learn from each and every one of them. . You always have a new tip in each video and you are always such a calming voice! Thank you and Matt for all you do for quilting! Your son as well!
Awesome. I didn't see the star at first. I like the grunge fabric as the background. Looks great.
Donna & Matt, Being a beginner, I really quite enjoy your videos and how you explain things in terms I can understand.
What a great quilt idea i love it
November 2021.
What a Great Quilt. The way you sewed the strip sets, OMG the Kaleidoscope of colors bring an instant Smile! The combinations of color are excellent, (from your layout plan) & the layout, so balanced, so much movement for the eye. I can't help myself even on this phone screen.
What a great idea for gift's, & myself.
Simple, quick, fun, with modern fabric choices.
Thank you Donna.
Well, your hole family does their part, I thank you all for doing the hard parts, (math, color, cuts, & layouts, filming probably 100 other things to keep your Ship Sailing in these "strange times"), & for giving fair warning of problems BEFORE they become an issue. All On Film.
👍☺️
I just love your quilts from the color combinations to the clear instructions. I have learned so much...Thank You! Have you ever done or considered doing a quilt with a scalloped edge? I would be very interested in seeing how this is done.
The scalloped edge quilt is on my list.
I really enjoy your tutorials thank you
I love watching your videos. 🥰🥰
I love watching all your videos!!
I've never been a fan of Kaffe Faset, but after watching you use his fabrics, I'm changing my mind. Also I've not worked with 21/2" strips very much. You are making me changing my thinking. Donna, thank you, thank you, thank you.
Love this quilt!
I always like watching your videos.
First and foremost I want to say Thank You Donna And Matt ,you guys have inspired many of us to try these patterns ,I personally have a renewed interest in the art of sewing quilts ,I would love to see you do a historical quilt like a Tennesse waltz . That would be awesome
I'll look up Tennessee Waltz.
Ironing on the grain is a great tip. I remember the days of circle skirts, when my mom taught us to iron only on the grain. You can really mess up a hem line if you forget. I love the colorful blocks. Thank you for saying that there are options with your designs. So helpful, and encourages creativity.
Love watching your tutorials you are good at this
Merci Donna
Awesome! Love all your tips. Soooo very helpful.
Donna... I love all the quilts you make!...I made a lap quilt for a friend using the fall leaves... and I love the table toppers!
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!! No idol, useless chit-chat and straight to project at hand. Your stuff is awesomeness!
Oh thank you! Donna, you have addressed where I have gone horribly wrong in the past. Ironing boards tend to have a bias against bias edges, so I will be making a tabletop ironing surface. And I will be pressing in future. Thank you!
As always a fantastic quilt.
I love your videos Donna
Great use of Kaffe fabrics, because there are places for the eye to “rest.” Excellent ironing tips for bias edges!
Can you make a quilt with houses? Maybe even a Christmas neighborhood of houses etc. using some of the wonderful Christmas fabrics? Thank you! I LOVE your quilts!
I'll see what we can do
Love the quilt and colors
Thanks for the good advice about working with bias cut blocks. Love the quilt!
Beautiful quilt. Thank you for sharing.
I’m always eager to get to my machine after watching your videos. So precise.
Great quilt! LOVE the blue background, it really compliments all the vibrant colors in that line. I will positively put this one on my list. I am a "confident" beginner and have enjoyed the extra tips you always give during your tutorials. So helpful to those of us that are just starting out. I always look for your next quilt.
You really are a pro with your videos. I love all the little extras like pressing, that make us into better quilters. Thank you so much for all your efforts.
I have been meaning to make this quilt for ages...did it in green (star/borders) and earth tones/browns/oranges/reds/autumn colors for the prints. Will be a gift for my sister's b-day as a special treat since she's been staying out of crowds...a nice pick-me-up! Thanks for the tips with ironing, etc. due to the bias cut of this pattern.
I always appreciate when you show a complicate design and you teach how to do it the most easy way possible. THANKS.
Gorgeous!!!
Really beautiful, thankyou for all the tips
Hello Donna. This uilt is stunning. I love the colours you chose. Kaffe Fassett! My very favourite xxx
loved this quilt design!
Sometimes when I cut strips I get a bow in the middle. I know that's because it's not on the straight of grain. I never have that with I strips I buy from Jordan Fabrics. I would love to see Matt do a video about how he straightens the fabric before cutting strips. Thanks.
Thanks for all the tips on ironing the bias edges
We made a "mystery quilt" last year using a full jelly roll and some girls used 4 different colours for the square. I used a gold and sliver. We had the diamond off centre. Using a jelly roll like this shows how versatile and easy it is to have a quilt look just that little bit different!
You are amazing Donna. I have learn so much from all of your videos.
That’s beautiful love the colour scheme!
Hola soy de Colombia me encanta todo lo que haces
Cómo algo para traducirlo en español
So many wonderful tips for handling fabrics cut on the bias.... and a gorgeous quilt to boot! Thanks so much Donna (and Matt for his awesome super-straight strips). Maybe Matt could share some tips with us?
Learning so much! Could you do a program about converting a Laprobe into different sizes? How much fabric to buy and also how to convert a 10" block into a smaller sized block like a 6" or 8" block?
If you make a cotton quilt fabric top but want to use flannel as a backing is there anything you need to do for shrinkage? To wash or not to wash? Thanks Donna! 😃
What a simple but so effective pattern. Absolutely love some of those prints you’ve used. 🌺
Donna, great idea with the phone camera, helping you to remember. I have two Xmas gifts I can’t find here at home. From now on I will take a picture of where I hide my gifts.
I'm sorry but this one out for me to
Had that happen and found under Fulton two years later. The dog likes to unwrap gifts and he found them. Great idea to take picture. Now I get teased that I could hide me own Easter eggs. I am 47 and I have sometimers
Beautiful!😉
Your tutorials are like having a friend pop round!
I love how detailed you are with the pattern, how to press, measurements. All of it is wonderful!
I would love to see you make an easy project using your stash. Either a pillow or a quilt. Love all your videos!!!
Thank you for the great instructions for ironing the bias fabric... Also great pattern🤣
Your nails coordinate with your fabrics, love it!
Another nice quilt! I liked all the tips on ironing because so many quilts I get to quilt are not ironed very well. Also when I teach ladies tend to forget they just want to get it done and don't take the time to iron! So thank you! Also I received the patterns I bought from you and I was so surprised that they came sooo fast, thank you!
Donna I'm always looking forward to your tutorials cause I always learn something new. I love this quilt and I thank you for your wonderful teaching.
Love HST and this is a fun quilt. Stars and log cabins are my favs, so this set up really appeals to me. Your videos are always great (get excited when I see there is a new one), and your nails always look so beautiful. Your videographer does such a great job with closeups so we can see every thing clearly and holds the camera so steady. Kudos for that! Wish I could move to your town!
That's such a smart tip about ironing in the straight grain of the fabric. Thanks, Donna.
Yes, I've never heard that tip before and it's a good one.
Loved how the blue grunge toned down your friend Kaffe a bit! And really loved how the star sort of was hidden - mirage was the perfect name! Now I know exactly what to do with some tiny HST's I made while trimming corners on my last quilt, and I'm glad for that. This arrangement will be perfect.
As for what I'd like you to teach soon, I keep thinking about making a red and white more traditional quilt, but not boring. Does that tweak any thoughts in your amazing imagination? Thanks again, Donna!
I'll see what I can do for a red and white quilt.
I love these colours and the overall design is brilliant. Thanks Donna
Hi Matt and Donna,
Thank you soooo much for your tutorials; I have put all your tips into practice, my quilts are much more precise and I have more confidence. I would really like to see in detail how you make you incorporate extra pieces in your backing, it adds so much to the quilt. Would love some ideas.
Thanks again,
Teresa
Donna thank you for the 'iron with the grain' tip!! You're the only person I've heard say that. I love watching your videos because you are always so informative and have wonderful tips!! Thank you for all of your time and effort.
I always enjoy your piecing and pressing tips. Thanks sew much!
Im so glad I found you. Thank you for your great informative videos.
Taking a picture is an awesome idea. Your tips are always so helpful. Thanks for another great tutorial.
Cool pattern and love the bright colors. Thank you again
I really like this pattern!
Fun quilt!!!!!
Oops, forgot to say how much I love, love the feather fabric you chose for the backing. Will be checking your website on the first to see what colors that comes in and grab some before they are all gone! I like the blue background you chose (love Grunge). It doesn't contrast greatly with the KF fabrics, but that is not a bad thing, it makes the quilt very subtle and soothing even with the bright colors. He uses SO many bright colors that it would be hard to pick a color for high contrast unless you use black or white - which would be really nice too. Thanks again for all you do for us!
You are talented! Love your quilts...
Nice quilt and great hint on ironing with the grain across the seam rather than along the seam allowance! Well done tutorial and as always so inspirational.
Thanks for all the good tips on working with bias.
I would love to see a tutorial on the PARK PLAZA QUILT. I saw it introduced by Cozy Quilts, but, it was not explained. I know y'all have a long list of requests, but, please add this one to your list. THANK YOU SO MUCH! ♥️
So fun and bright! Love this one!
