Always interesting, Dom and John making a great team. If you are interested, I have a DeWalt flip saw which you can have on permanent loan. The last time I needed it was in March 2017 when I took it to France to fit my son’s floor boards but I am loathe to sell it, just in case. 🌞
When I was an electricity linesman I had a land rover with a crew cab. Then I became a rapid response man which meant I needed all sorts of other tools and equipment. The back box was full already (neatly arranged!) so I took the back seats out of the cab and bodged up some old office desk drawer units to fit in. Plenty of room for the extra tools and paperwork (far too much paperwork!). A place for everything and everything in its place!
Great to see the progress. Went to a brilliant coffee and classic do at a company called ADP in Witham. Smashing day out with my old Lancia Flavia Coupe. Had coffee from a converted Land Rover like yours and then the icing on the cake, sighted a Ranalah in their workshop (can send you the pics we took).
Also Dom invest in one of those Chinese carbide holesaw sets, they work really well in comparison with the normal Starrett style bi-metal holesaws and will cut the stainless easily. When using either type I always drill the pilot hole without the saw attached, as it's much easier to accurately position and then use the saw afterwards. And in the case of the stainless which is heat hardening, I would use a HSS / Cobalt drill for the pilot hole as it will cut the stainless better than a standard HSS bit.
Another great video from Dom from a world we rarely get to see, professionals doing what they love most, creating magic in a calm, purposeful manner with lots of humour. Can't wait to see the next episode.
Dom and Jon make a fun team. I am glad you showed the real-world process of trimming panels to fit in a complex structure. Get it close, and then bring it to a good fit, bit by bit. Given the £30k tied up in that Defender, your mobile barista friends have been super understanding...
Love all your projects and vids Dom but, I have to say it's great to see the return of this project and happy people doing what they love. Fantastic work. Keep it up. Greetings from Perth, Western Australia
If you need a front end service on the coffee machine and a few tips on getting it set up with a bean grinder give us a shout, we've seen many a Fracino Dual fuel coffee machine in the back of things over the years from horse boxes to tuk tuks and of course the obligatory citroen H :))
Good to see the progress on the Coffee Van, Dom. Drilling stainless. You will need special drill bits to do the job. Using HSS drill bits won't work, but will heat the stainless and make it harder.
Er, think Dom might know that, eh, Chris......?! Although that IS classic RUclips - assume you know better than everyone else..! Patronise first - ask questions later .......!?!?
Hi Dom’. A couple of my coffee customers made me aware of this (NZ) week’s episode of The Repair Shop, that documented your refurbishment of an old manual steel coffee grinder. The electrolysis did such a good job of the body, but I was intrigued to know if it sharpened the actual grooves of the burrs? If not, it seemed such a shame to go to all that trouble and not have sharp burrs to ensure the best result. In my 18 years roasting, grinding & extracting espresso, I’ve come to appreciate that burrs wear out, become dull and need sharpening or replacing. How they could still grind effectively after decades of (even once daily use) would be nothing short of miraculous? Love your passion, work and enthusiasm! PS: where & when will it be operating?
Nice to see John again. Grand job done and another great video. How about a nice WW2 vehicle ie Jeep as your next project or even a tank😂. Have a good week Dom.
@@DominicChineas Ah ok! A decent step drill or two is also well worth having if you haven't got one already, I've found them easier to use than hole saws and more versatile.
Well done with the Defender, it didn’t take that long did it 😂😂 The VW van looks like it’s been used for target practice. I have a feeling this “not a project” us going to be one in the background 😂😂
Wonderful video and are you sure that this is not a pub on wheels? You lads are have too much fun for adults working on a car. Lol Thank you, take care and peace out!

measure once, cut twice or thrice or how ever many times it takes! John is a treasure.
The custom-fitted wood support block looks good, too.
Great fun and progress on the Coffee Van.

When drilling stainless, drop the drill speed and keep the pressure on otherwise the bit rubs and work hardens the stainless
Yes absolutely correct, sharp drill, cutting fluid and don’t stop.

Glad to see the coffee van on the go again Dom 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks so much! so am I haha!
Good to see progress on the Landy, be nice when it's not cluttering up the place!!! Nice bit of workshop banter👍👍👍
Will we get to see this coffee truck in action and out in its natural habitat?
You will indeed!
Good stuff... I'll watch any amount of Defender content 😊
You need a plasma cutter for holes in stainless. I had the same problem with an extractor chimney.
Yay! Coffee to go is nearly there. Great video Dom. I bet you and John have some wonderful stories to tell. 😀
Another great video! Some more progress but the owners will be able to pass it onto their grandchildren soon!
I might just start drinking coffee…. And i guess Jon is the mastermind!!

Honest John, what a diamond. Will work for coffee and pork pies.
A good bit done there guys. Well done. Progress!
Use spacers behind the inverter etc don’t mount them flat to the ply, they need an air space behind them.
These particular ones don’t need an air gap, Brother Dan works with these a lot with his job and advised me along the way.. we are ok!
@@DominicChineas always good to have a knowledgeable brother (and a fire extinguisher) around 😁
Hi Dom, glad to see its on its way, Where are we heading for,?? All the best Brian 😃
It’s heading to Devon!
Good progress. Get Honest John onto the Repair Shop somehow 🙂
Cheers Dom and Jon ☕☕🤓safety third... bad man

I pity the coffee service tech that has to carry out service works on that! Plus you still need a safety ticket for it Dom.
