Hi is it worth paying extra money and buying mk3 if i already own a maschine studio? are these pad in mk3 are so different in sensitivity? from those in the maschine studio? because it's probably the most important thing in maschine. please reply
I'll be honest. Personally, I would say studio as it's basically a mk3 without the built in audio interface/ sound card. If your really on a budget, grab a mk2 but just save your money until you can make the purchase you want.
What's the latency on the built in interface like? Ni needs to come out with ultra low latency via usb3(. 1) or thunderbolt. Having 2-5 ms latency is key for fingerdrumming/live performance and if it's like their other soundcards it's more 7-11 ms latency... So the internal soundcard won't make me switch from my studio to the mk3. I think I'm gonna wait for the studio mk2 and see what that's like.. Would be a bummer when they come out with a standalone maybe, but that probably ain't gonna happen. Personally I think the 3.0 software will be more push like it wouldn't surprise me if that one has got 64 pads instead of 16..
they wont do the 64 pad on the 3.0 software. it would likely be in the N.I Jams software because thats their primary live performance tool. good point about the studio mk2...i hadnt even ever thought about that thing. mainly because the mk3 is really like an upgraded small Studio.
Hi. If i don't need the audio interface and portability and the bigger pads, is Maschine Studio good choice? Are Mk3 has any more advantages compared to Studio?
I think the jog wheel on the Studio and more space is great. Everything is dedicated. But I'd say that the Mk3 has better resolution screens, the touch strip and is more portable. In a way, I feel the Studio is long overdue for an update - and there is no excuse from NI not to have done that already.
@@massivebeatzz Thank you for the info. I have a nice offer for a Studio for 200 eur. Thats why im hesitating. But as i understand you MK3 doesn't really have functions what you can't reach at Studio. Maybe the touchstrip. I will check out what can i do with that.
@@Keyaar1978 You are right - I don't think you have the scale , chord buttons etc, but there has to be a Key combination that you can do. I would check the online manual with NI.
Sir! Gotta question if you do not mind! I have nowadays a maschine mikro, and I am fed up of the lack of on screen information and dedicated buttons, so I was planning to switch to Studio, but when I was checking it out, MK3 appeared and blew my mind and with a cheaper price tag! The problem is that I read that some buttons are missing compare to the Studio (Edit buttons, Jog Wheel, etc) and this slowed me down... I really hate the bunch of shortcuts I have to do in my mikro, and I dont want to be bothered with this problem with MK3. You, as a MK3 user, do you see any difference in the workflow if you compare MK3 with Studio? Thank you!
malibuu6969 I would highly recommend upgrading. personally the features I like the most are dedicated buttons for pad, keyboard, and chords mode. also being able to use the screens to browse for sounds and to mix/adjust levels is a huge improvement
I got the mk3 and I can tell i got the money for the studio. But the mk3 is better. Minus stand alone. But it does have it's on audio interface. Doesn't need to be plugged in the wall. Usb. And it can fit in a laptop bag. And far as function ever button you need is there. I come from akia mpd218, Alesis keyboards, and cubase. With this I can turn computer screen away from me and just make the whole with just the mk3.
not a big one, fore sure - 5% nitpicking range :) I still have my MK3 - good as new. Outstanding product. Using a heavy cast laptop stand with an angle.
And six years after this was made, I'm keeping my Maschine Studio. I don't need a mic input, headphones or an audio interface. It stays in one spot. It's unfortunate that NI hasn't keep up with keeping the legacy on line manual up to date with the 2.17.x software. I have a love/hate relationship with NI. They have the worst customer support of any music software/hardware company of which I own product (and it's not a close last place). I hope Isotope doesn't get contaminated by the parent company.
Yes - the lack of "working for their money" as in - "we gave you money - now it's your turn to do updates, diligently keep everything in order, so our investments keep working" is not clearly understood. This is indeed shameful. The parent company Plugin Alliance , or the other way around NI, who cares - all these Germans need to do a better joB! Plugins with graphics from 2009, software from 2015...in 2024...come on now...
you are correct. Studio: bigger, more button,s wheel for transport, easier and faster to work - Mark3: easy to transport, needs no power adapter (USB ok), headphone and audio interface, pads a little bigger and more sensitive
they both have their strong points. there really is no best. its all about what you feel is the priority for what you need. the mk3 has features (note repeat button large, glow in the dark buttons and an audio interface) that would definitely make it objectively better for live performances. and its smaller so its easier to transport. and you can use it without the ac adapter.
hold that thought. I have a more detailed comparison coming out in a couple of days! The studio costs at least 200 more, has a lot more buttons and is built with a metal plate. But no audio interface, less portability - and - a couple of tricks the new guy has. if u really look at the studio though, the production power is insane.
massivebeatzz yeah my thing is a at home studio I have a audio interface that's probably better than what comes with mk3 who knows maybe studio 2 will come out
Video appreciated, but could definite both use: 1.) LIGHTING over all products being reviewed to clearly show all features. Viewers shouldn't need to squint and rewind to try toget more clarity. 2.) De-Esser... Come on homey, you have all of this gear, but you don't have a plug-in for "De-esser"? You have some very BRIGHT and SCRAPING " S " sounds resounding over your speech. And I am NOT knocking the way you or ANYONE speaks. I am however criticizing (and I hope that you will accept it constructively) your lack of follow-through in the video production process, as this is DEFINITELY a requirement for reasonable, nearly-bare-minimum, post-production checks.
Interesting. I typically have a deep more muffled voice, with "S" sibilance rarely being a problem. Could be that I used a different Mic that day, As for the lighting - I use these in the dark, many DJ's do, so I wanted to show it looks with LED lights. But absolutely, that is not the way to show all the craftsmanship and material detail that went into building those..

Hush Banga you can always buy the used hardware without the software. The MK3 is between 350-450 on eBay.
As with most of my NI purchases I was much happier with the maschine mk3 once I just jumped in and really learned how to use it . Trust NI lol
If I make beats and sample tracks for fun and can’t afford mk3 in 2020 should I get mk 2 or micro 3?👀 or studio ?

Maschine is the new Apple get rid of itunes then update software then try to get users to pay a monthly subscription or a new hardware every two years
you nailed it!
Hi can you update info on encoders-pots on MK3,are they getting loose or is studio better quality build?
I think studio is more sturdy! great questions. The encoders on MK3 feel like they might get loose over time!
this is really mk3 or studio with bonus Novation
The Mk3 has been out for 4 years!? I do not like my studio. Would you recommend trading up to MK3?
yes, definitely! it feels more modern. Better pads, better screens, audio interface built in...The jog wheel on the studio is nice though.
