Agree 👍 100%. I use the wide mouth ones for dry good storage (not long-term bug out storage) in my Conversion Van kitchen . They travel well, aren't glass, safest for food grade uses, easy and functional to see what's stored inside of them!
Nalgene is located not far from me near Rochester NY. It’s fascinating that the main business of the company was to produce laboratory equipment. Some of the workers were scout leaders and they started bringing the bottles to use for both drinks as well as dry goods when out camping. The rest is history…
Only have 2 Nalgenes. My first one is an REI branded one purchased the summer of 98. The second is a Stainless one that's maybe half as old. Tons of miles and as said before, bombproof!
I love them, too. When it's hot you can freeze water in it and then carry that in your pack all day to keep your lunch cool or keep you hydrated with cool water.
I’m 100% a Nalgene water boy too. I’ve never needed the warranty because they are bombproof. I will never buy another brand and I don’t think my bottles will ever fail me. I think I’ve got about 12 varied in volume and mouth size.
I have been using Nalgene for 13+ years and only had one die from a 30 foot fall that was my fault. I didn't know about the warranty then but last year I had two cap bands break because I use them as handles and they replaced everything fast. I had been buying at least one new replacement cap per year for $4 from the local small outdoors store so I wish I knew of the warranty sooner but it's the only bottle I recommend. Probably have 15 or so now and keep picking them up at goodwill.
Just a few weeks ago, I upgraded my original water bottles in my semi-truck to six nalgene 48oz bottles. Previously, I was just using sodastream bottles that I already had for my sodastream machine. The reason is that the widemouth is easier to clean. Also, I have their on the fly cap on all six. Makes it much easier to drink from while driving. Easily open and close with just one hand. I carry enough water in my truck to get me through the week(14 gal) in two 7 gallon Reliance Jumbo-tainers. I can't see how other truck drivers can justify spending money on case after case of bottled water.
My dad bought our family their own water bottle back when in the early 2000s..we used them but ofc the girls in the family didn't think they were "cute" enough and eventually we switched to the tumbler cups..i'm glad i watched this video bc i've been looking for a new water bottle..will probably pick one of these up.
@@jiujitsu2000 my dad was a chemist and they had certain requirements for containers for various liquids. As a result, in addition to my commercial grade Nalgene, I ended up with a lot of thin-mouthed, medical grade, flask type Nalgene. He used to mix his bourbon/water in them. I generally have only really used my wide mouth collection though. 🤷🏻♂️
@@jiujitsu2000 yeah it’s definitely something to look into they release, estrogen and other kinds of chemicals that mess with your hormones. Also contribute to cancer.
The wide mouth Nalgene bottles also fit under a MSR mini work and guardian water filter because MSR designed this filter to work with this type of wide mouth bottle.

I absolutely love Nalgene
They make the best water bottles!
Never give up !
Good one brother.
I carry a green 32 oz nalgene with me and i have the military style nalgene in my truck
Hard to argue your position. 👍
Sadly, there is no warranty that helps with teenagers that lose all your nice stuff at school. Cheap stuff only until the nest is empty.
I don’t think many places have a warranty for someone losing something.
Hey brother what ship were you on? were you a GM? I was on the Ashland.
I have a few early bottles as well.and a tote of others,i like them.fill with hot water and keep your feet warm at nite
Awesome company! Ill gladly pay a higher price for a product from a company that stands behind it. Good to know.
I loved them for years and have a dozen, but BPAs aren’t the only microplastics. I only drink out of titanium now 🤷🏻♂️
I love Titanium!

How do you know a bottle is Nalgene?
It's printed on the side and embossed on the bottom of the bottom
What is your most used size? I didn't realize you could freeze these bottle.
I usually stick to 32 ounces
I used to love those things until I found out how many chemicals they release at room temperature especially or warmer. I switched to stainless steel.
On a sidenote, yesterday, I picked up a really nice 425E 1975 for $10 absolutely no rust in the tank runs like a clock.
Wow! I'm not aware of that
Score on that stove !!!

Only if they say non BPA OR BPS free.
