  • You need a bigger table so that everyone can be together. The stock 6' picnic tables are nice but just not big enough. In this video, I show you everything you need to know in order to build your own 10' picnic table. It's a sturdy design that gives you seating for 10 adults or more.
I hope that this video helps inspire you to get out there and build your own great summer memories :)
The cost of materials for this table at the time of this video was about $100
    Parts list:
    (10) 2x6x10
    (1) 2x6x12 (pressure treated)
    (2) 2x3x8
    (100) 2 1/2" deck screws
    (16) 2 7/8" lag screws
    (1) bottle of wood glue

On the cleats don't drive the screws in to bring up the board back the screw up and drive it in again it will suck it right up. Great Video!

$100 in 2019. I paid like $500 for all this yesterday. But I did get all treated.

I know you have only had this for less than a year...any regrets, such as too long, or table top not wide enough. I want to make a 10 footer, but am not sure if it will just seem very large, and even then I am thinking I should go wider with the table top, like six 2x6 or perhaps five 2x8's. I've even contemplated making the table top out of 1X material as opposed to 2X just to keep the table lighter. Any thoughts or insight is appreciated. Also, was this table pine? Did you do the finish yourself in the same fashion as the other video where you are torching the table, it looks awesome.

Great questions! Yes, I finished it with the wood burned look and then I seal it with a clear poly. I think the dimensions are great. I have started cutting the legs just a little longer at 35" to give a little more leg room. I would shy away from using 1x material because it would be more susceptible to warping and sagging over time. I used construction grade pine from Lowes

Hey great video, might want to take a look at your parts list. You put 10 1x6x10. instead of 2x6x10.

for a 10' table I typically use 2 pairs of legs. For a 12' table I always use 3 pairs

I'm planning to make another table in the next couple weeks so I'll try to put together a parts list when I do it and post it in the video description. Great idea!

Cutting 2x4 on angle in your hand is the dumbest thing ive ever seen!
Dont give instructions while being totally unsafe!

  • @johnobrien4926
    @johnobrien4926 3 года назад

Wow . You should not be instructing at all! Bending forcing the wood, hoping screws will hold it. Over time with weather swelling and shrinking thats going to come apart, use of power tools is not your strong point either. So big lesson here is why you find an instruction manual!
