I’ve sold quite a few kids picnic tables, but I’ve been using 2x6’s for the tops and bench. Yours is about 4” wider and taller than mine, and I do like your design with the cut ends. Good work!
Nice. If your top brace boards are a little short, put a 2-4" scrap spacer between them on the bottom of the table top. Adjust your measurements and angles appropriately in your app (finally bought it, easier than doing the geometry myself). This will shorten the braces just a bit.
It isn't super clear to me how long the legs are. Do I cut each board at 22" and then add the 30 degree cuts on each end? I see how you did this in the video, but it still doesn't make complete sense to me. Or do I simply cut off a 30 degree angel from one board, flip it over, then measure 22 inches from the inside angle (not the outer tip), mark it, and then cut another 30 degree angle where now that the board is flipped both angles are parallel to each other? Or don't flip it? Heck I am confused. (Hope I do not confuse anyone else by reading my mess here!)
So, if you have the saw arm to the right to 30 degrees, cut the end of the board. Measure from the pointy end of the board down 22” and make a mark. Slide the board to the right until the blade is lined up with the mark and make the second cut. No flipping the board. The cuts are parallel. Hope this helps
@@RonniesWorkshop Thanks for the confirmation. I did figure it out a couple hours ago. Yes, I did end up sacrificing half of a 2x4 figuring it out. I learn best by doing. I cut my wood this evening, will assemble it tomorrow afternoon. Thanks for the easy to follow instructions. I had no issues with anything else --just that part with the legs. Build time improves with quantity made. The question is, how much can YOU sell them for? Set your price and test your market.
