In the trailer, they use Warspite as a stand-in. But you identified the "incident" correctly. They use a lot of famous iconography surrounding Bismarck in this trailer and it's outright great. The oneshotkill, Bismarck's parting the waves into the camera, Swordfishs dropping torps and on and on. The lineup in the end is also very nice, starting with Nassau, centering on Bismarck and ending with Großer Kurfürst. I'm positively hyped. Whoever made the trailer: MAKE MORE OF THOSE:
Yes 1400 men died in the line of duty, serving their country in a war, it's not like 80% of games are centered around war and soldiers dying in the line of duty, If we get sad at every game that used historical data from wars, by now we would have killed ourselves... GAME...REALITY . two totally different things, don't you think? :)

Impressive animation and commitment to the German battleships, once again, well done Wargaming.
They have been consistant with the quality of the promo videos from the very beginning. Remember the Zero fighters flying between a CV and a cruiser in the WoWs official game release.

if you search for the fight between Hood, prince of wales / bismark , prince eugen you will read that Hood was penned at her back Magazine .... so it wouldnt be correct even if it was the Hood in the Video

actually in regards to naval design,technology and engineering the Germans were behind the UK and US.
Bismarck and Tirpitz had many flaws and outdated design features.
Robert H. Goddard Germany has much modern battleships than Royal Navy. Only KGV type has any chance in solo fight. Queen Elizabeth, Revenge, Hood, Nelson are too old/slow/weak armor.

Goddard: The Father of Rocketry way behind they're surface fleet is even sub par to the Italians even the Japanese.The German U-Boat force is possibly it's strongest while the surface fleet was probably it's weakest the Germans don't have intensive night battle training to compensate for the lack of ships like the Japanese did.

Oh, no doubt it is one of the most known vessels in history. My remark was trying to adress that any notion of "monster of the seas" was due to perceived capabilities, and not actual ones.
@@VRichardsn You don't need to kill to be a monster in the eyes of many, though he wasn't heavily decorated with medals his presence alone caused the British fleet to create irrational & costly decisions.
The fact they sent almost half of the entire Royal Navy against 1 ship is a pretty costly decision.

no it's because they are german battleships. Even low in numbers every single one had a impact on the war, especially the legendary maiden voyage of the Bismarck. German battleships are what most wows players are interested in, at least on the european side. It's what people were waiting for since they knew about this game.
It's like to play world of tanks to get the hands on the Tiger.
Eh I dunno about "huge impact on the war." Scharnhorst and Gneiseneu (misspelled I know it) were the only ones that got actual work done. Bismarck got a lucky hit on Hood (sinking a BB is pretty cool but that was literally all) but got wrecked immediately afterwards. Tirpitz did nothing except make the British piss their pants (even though Iowa was camping outside those fjords for a few months waiting for her which would've been a slaughter). If you wanna include the Deutschland class, they sank some shipping and that was about it (Admiral Scheer performed very well in this however). I wouldn't compare them to the Tiger. Whereas the Tiger was superior to pretty much any single tank around at the time, Bismarck (the best German BB) really wasn't. Better than most British ships, but the Americans could've countered her. And the German surface fleet performed relatively shitty in comparison to the U-Boat fleet and not even close to the successes of the Tigers, especially in the early days of the war and in terms of pure fear factor. Shipping convoys would be more afraid of U-Boats for obvious reasons
The Hood was a Battlecruiser not a Battleship if she had been armored like a BB she wouldn't have been sunk so easily.
Paul Kember in fact the belt armor of hms hood was around 12 inches,decent for battlecruiser.

I love how they show the vital moment when the swordfish are about to hit the rudder like it was in real, but suddenly they miss and the AA of the Bismarck even shoots them down - like: oh no ! this time Bismarck will fight on: in world of warships!

Well the French fast battleship the Dunkerque is coming soon as a premium ship. So the French navy will come at one point and I suspect the same for the Italians.

They specialize is getting into trouble they can't handle and running to their allies for help.
+Rafael Augusto Italian BBs are probably gonna be super tanky with smaller caliber railguns. The Italians prized muzzle velocity even if it came at the cost of accuracy and barrel life and the Littorio-class is stupid well armored with what amounts to a slab of spaced armor before a shell even hits the main belt. Seriously, it's in direct competition with Yamato and Iowa for most well armored battleship ever.
Finally a trailer that isn't horrible. It's been a long time.

Devs of WoWS, stick to this format please! also do historical battles (As I am assuming, since that is the Bismark under attack by Sword fish). It gives the ships more depth and also looks really cool. keep the content coming, and dont forget about WoT!

Looks like a queen Elizabeth class battleship that has forward magazines blown up similar to Hood's death by Bismarck
Did you know that it's theorised that the Bismarck didn't hit a turret magazine at all and actually hit the torpedo magazine (yes the hood had torpedo tubes). They believe this because where the shell reportedly hit hood was in centre mass on the deck between the rear mast and the rear funnel.
Shipbuilding is more dangerous than battle. Dock looks so nice in trailer above, and it is such hell in reallife.

Whoever thought to put an AA gun on the top of Bismark's turret was a sadist to whatever poor sailors had to man that thing when the main battery fired.
