I believe it is a nod to the Soviet Naval Aviation service which, despite not having a carrier and being land based, sank more ships than any other unit during the war.
Probably from Sevastopol, or Leningrad, if in the Baltic

Wow just like battleships are supposed to fight in real life you fucking wows baby. This game spits in the face of real sailors making kids belive that they were all idiots becouse they dared to broadside while they should bow tank and angle just like you in the game. If you are interested in naval this game has nothing to offer except very nice ship models, the gameplay in its majority punishes real naval tactics.
I try to broadside or portside, But the damn maps with islands are annoying

When a plane goes down in WoWp, that’s one or two people. When a tank dies in WoT, that’s 2-6 people. When a ship goes down that’s 100 to 3000 people.
It would be interresting to have a Sailor lost stat in the Player profile
@@gzer0x more like 100 to over 4000, the Midway has the highest crew count of any ship in the game at roughly 4,104, largely because most of the other Tier X capital ships aside from Yamato are paper vessels with crews that can't be measured definitively and battleships never really stray above 2,700-2,800.

FeelTheThunder [ASIA] well, Stalingrad,pr.23 Sovetsky Soyuz,Kronstadt,Izmail were actually built but none were finished for various reasons,sp it’s not all paper ships
On the USSR battleship line, there is only 1 fake ship (Sinop), and that's based from 1917 Kostenko battleship design, only with superfiring turrets. The rest are either built and finished (Sevastopol), built but cancelled (Izmail and Sovetsky Soyuz), or blueprint-only (Pyotr Veliky, Vladivostok, Kreml, and Knyaz Suvorov).

Blueprints exist but never considered/cancelled to be produced, fake means that they're never existed at the first place.

Y'all make the best videos! Have of the reason why I love playing this game and have been for years is the work you do with the game and promoting the game. There is so much history behind these ships and you really tell there stories well with naval legends and many other videos like this. I love the history lessons! Plus the community contributors you have are great and do their part as well. Please keep up the great work and I'll keep playing!
Besides making awesome games, you guys have a gift for making such amazing, dramatic and emotional videos. Coupled with your art styles and out of this world CGI, you guys could easily make a tv series and I would watch. Please give your art and animation department a huge raise. I hope to see way more of this in the future.

At start I was bit wondering about the style you took opposed to French BB reveal and for example "wait for me" as they were superb. But in the end i concluded...what ever style you pick, you still manage to nail it! Love it!

Potemkin was crap though, plot was not historically accurate at all.
Interesting fact. Most of the ships of the USSR/Russia are men, as the word "ship" in Russian is masculine. Don't worry, the girls are there too. If the name of the ship ends with "a", "ya", "o", then the ship is a girl.

"Russian" would be more precise, if Imperial ships are there.
There aren't any, so "Soviet" is correct. The only ship belonging to the Imperial era is the Gangut, which features prominently in this video - but in the form she is in, she's already gotten a Soviet refit and bears the name Oktyabrskaya Revolutsiya. The battleship behind her is Sovetsky Soyuz, the two sunken ships at the beginning are a Leningrad-class destroyer and a Project26bis cruiser which is probably using Molotov's model anyway - all three are Soviet-era ships.
If there's a single ship from Imperial times - even if later modified - and if all ships are from Russia, then my point is correct. Besides and as a figure of language, what's more proper, "nazi-Germany ships" or just "german ships"? Historical accuracy is often adequate, but imposed politically-inspired terminology is much less important than national terms.
@@TheGrenadier97 I would prefer using Nazi Germany, to be honest. It reflects properly what era and to which governing power actually controls them during that time. Same thing as calling the Monitor a Union ship and the Merrimack a Confederate ship, instead of simply calling both American ships. It makes no sense to shy away from history, and politics and history are far more intertwined than most people would like to believe. I think that using general terms dilutes what they meant and stood for in their time, and that's how history can be twisted to tell something that was never true.
Back to the terming of the ships in the video, I would accept "Soviet Russian ships", as they are representative of the ship Russia had during its Soviet era, not the one before or after.
Except that US and CSA were considered for a short period separate countries, or in a state of rebellion, making the separation important. Although i agree about the importance of political terms, i can't simple accept that Russia changed it's name because a dictatorship decided so. On the other hand, i can agree with "Russian/Soviet ships", for example.
@@TheGrenadier97 Well, those ships were built by the forbearance of one particular Russian dictator during that era, so I find it hard to dissociate them from it. It's a little unfortunate, but that's how it is. They are most definitely still Russian, however - I simply think it's important to separate that Russia from the Russia that is today, because they are appreciably different.
