+Jan Sturm What I have always found strange is that the German air force was unable to control the English channel. With bf-109s, FW-190s and Stuka dive bombers, I would have thought the channel would be a death trap for any English ship.
The ju-87 was outdated at the beginning of the war to be honest. It could not Haul torpedos and was easy to be intercepted by the hurricanes or the spitfires. Theese two were the reason why most of the german aircraft like the 109s were confined to Close Bomber escort. The He-111 and later on the Do-217 just did Not have the self defense capabilities to be able to get to britain and back in one piece without a proper escort. Also the spitfires up to MK V were superior to the 109s and the complete obsolete and redundant bf 110. The fw-190 tipped the Balance in the nazi's favor until the spitfire MK IX saw Service. Outclassing most german fighters. To sum it up, Nazi germany did Not manage to hold control of the channel because they prioritiesed Bombing Runs with escorts over air superiority and were too stubborn to adapt. You see, a 109 can outclimb a spitfire but it can not out turn it, so putting them in a Close protection role where they are forced to dogfight is pretty ineffective. Their aircraft were outdated to begin with( the stuka with Jericho trumpets was mostly a propaganda and Terror weapon). And last but not least the royal airforce is not a bunch of sissy pushovers.
+Jan Sturm airplane superiority is preference of the pilot. the BF109s, thanks to their rigid and strict upgrades from the E, to the F, to the G and finally the K, kept them at odds with spitfires until the Griffin Spitfires rolled out. They saw too little service to effect the outcome of the war, and were nowhere as near as scary or effective as the germans answer to air superiority.. the ME262. those terrors would have been in service in 1943 or mid 1944 if it werent for hitler's stupidity.
Theres a difference when your docked to a random place in northern Norway and sailing around in the open Ocean. The tirpitz crew wasnt ready at all. Yamato got attacked by 400 planes with torpedoes, bombs, rockets and everything in the open ocean. They werent ready either, but it took alot to sink her. The Tirpitz was docked outside Tromsø in Norway and the British had launched a crapton of attempts to sink her, it was never enough until it was and they eventually got her with lots of bombs and some torps aswell. I dunno how many planes it took to take Tirpitz down but Im sure it was over 50 of those modified long range bombers that the British used to sink her. Ultimatetly the Tallboy bomb was the ultimate cause of the ship sinking. (If u are playing the Tirpitz) the British will find u, and they will tallboy u...
the Tirpitz hid in the feuds because her only Atlantic port was destroyed not cos they were scared of losing her. It simply wasn't possible to keep her in the Atlantic
that is false. They were scared of losing her, it's called a fleet in being. The idea that a battleship can provide a lot of deterance even if it never sets sail.
Sorry let me rephrase that. They were scared of losing her because the only Atlantic dock was destroyed. This meant she would have to go through to the German sea boarder which meant going past Britain through a natural choak point. So instead they just left her in the feuds and never sent her our into the Atlantic. So we are both right
@@bentaylor809 Actually youre both wrong, Tirpitz was put into the Northern Atlantic Due to the sinking of Bismarck, which, Due to the Twin ships being considered the largest Battleships at the time, and both under german control, it nearly killed German Morale for the Naval Part of the war, so when Tirpitz was finally located, it took much much longer to Actually defeat her due to the Position the Germany Military was trying to do to defend her
+TheLordOfWar A simple way to convert; a mile is 1.6 kilometers. A kilometer is 0.6 miles. It's not difficult to visualise. But if it is go 1.5 and 0.5
Tirpitz was the sister ship to Bismarck. When Bismarck met her demise Hitler moved Tirpitz to Norway and hid it in the ice to fill in a gap in the Atlantic Wall. Later she was spotted by the a British patrol and a squadron of 10 Lancaster and B-17 Fortress bombers took off from bases in Scotland and hit her with 10 tallboy bombs. Tirpitz sank beneath the waves and there she remained until 1948 when her remains were dredged and scrapped.

Torpedos are a problem too though for the user. Because they can actually glue your Tirpitz to close quarters fights and if the player isn’t very wise, the torpedo tubes onboard can drag you into close quarters fights that all Battleships should not be involved in and end badly for your Tirpitz.
0:55 Ok first it's not long range Second she was scuttled and not sunk by torpedo instead it only speeds up the flooding caused by the scuttling process
The Tirpitz is a teir 8 Kongo with torpedoes. You just have to play it the same way. Angle your armor, invest in secondary gun upgrades and close the distance. Use your speed and maneuverability to cross their T and light them up with HE rounds and torpedoes. AP is for long range plunging fire and cruisers. The only thing I'm afraid of is that EVERYONE who can afford it will be buying the Tirpitz. They'll be so common it will get boring and it won't take long to find her weak spots.I hope the German cruiser line will be good, I don't like the US or Japanese cruisers.
What Kongo didn't have 15" guns!! She had ww1 14" guns which were supassed in every way the 3 round per minute 15 incher's of Bismarck. As well Kongo was less of a fast battleship than Hood, Bismark had a 14" belt compared to Kongo's 11". Not to mention fire control ect...
Calemb Jackman Just commenting on play style and my view has been altered since I posted. I still play the Tirpitz more like a Kongo then an US BB. It just does not seem to have the armor for a slug feast but fast cut and slash seems to work better. It's got the speed and turning circle to make it work.
Nice video. Unfortunately, Tirpitz has been affected by the power creep of the new premiums and French line - Missouri, Musashi, Ricelieu....Tirpitz struggles in most engagements now
Bought her, somehow liked her because she's the best money printer together with Atago. In return, I really found out that she's like a battlecruiser instead of a battleship :)
Nguyễn Trí I haven't encountered a Tirpitz player yet, so I cannot say how good her armor or firepower is for myself. All I know is, the way Wargaming described it is historically inaccurate. The Bismarck-class was one of the fastest, most well-armed and armored battleship classes of history.
+Nguyễn Trí I dont think it has over nerfed the armor but definately the firepower. Bismarck and Tirpitz could fire 3 rounds a minute, compared to the 2 rounds of the other battleships. yes, in WoWs Tirpitz has a faster reload, but it's 25, not 20 seconds. And the accuracy is not great, expecially at longer range. But you must keep in mind, that it is a tier 8 and it is a premium ship. The Bismarck will also be Tier 8, but it will most likely be a little bit better, because it is not premium.
+Sicklehead88 But still everything needs a re-buff. I don't know how good or bad is the accuracy in real life but the most important thing for me is to reset the proper reload and armor and firepower as well
+Yellow Submarine Well, we can see Yamatos and Montanas sink by the dozens, if they release the H44-class... bloody hell, those ships had the heaviest armament and thickest armor out of all planned vessels.
In the current version, of cause Tirpitz's main gun can easily penetrate cruiser's armor. However, the issue is in close range, even I aiming at a full broadside cruiser's water line where citadel should be, all shells over-penetrated. And in the meantime, enemy torpedos already under the water.
I wonder how the Deutchland class heavy cruisers would play. They have to include them because they both have had a big impact on history and quite unique specs. They are extremely fast and have some of the most powerful guns ever put on cruisers. The British nicknamed them "Pocket Battleships". However they have thin armor and little AA protection.
At boat therapy HQ´s Boat: So Tirptiz, why are you here? Tirp: Well, i´ve been feeling insecure, no matter what i do and how good i do my older brother always gets all the attention, no matter how bad he fucked up just because he sunk La Hood. Boat: *KING OF THE OCEAN HE WAS MADE TO RULE THE WAVES ACROSS THE SEVEN SEAS!!!!* T: Not this shit again
It’s well know that while the Bismarck was certainly doomed it wasn’t sunk by a “long range torpedo “ but other battle damage and the crew scuttling the ship.
Imagine if all those resources and sailors had been poured into submarines instead. They could have produced and fielded dozens of subs for every Tirpitz or Bismark they put to sea. And after all that, only to have those magnificent capital ships sunk or neutralized early in the war, barely doing any damage for all the lives and treasure sunk into them.
+Evelynn The Widow Maker this is completly wrong and outdated info. That was an rumor from long time ago. Wargaming CONFIRMED with their news that the Bismarck will be an regular Tier 8 and the Tirpitz, well, it is an premium Tier 8. Stop trolling and spreading lies.
Honestly I think matchmaking should be changed so that if a ship was made for a particular region, it would see more or less ships of a certain class, just to be more realistic.

Just to be completly clear, if any of this is wrong correct me. I am by far no Expert.
+Folker46 ! It was Hermann Goering and Adolf Hitler's "brilliant strategy" that destroyed the German airforce in WW2.
Tirpitz is under rated in real life she was extremely powerful that’s why the Royal Air Force had to use tall boy earth quake bombs to sink her
Tear pits.
Ew
That's were they threw the Germans in-game.
Changed the West Virginia for the Tirpitz. Still getting used to it but having great results.
we need Littorio class !
"To avoid the fate of its sister ship Bismarck..."
Royal Air Force: Well yes, but actually no...
The Yamato of the Atlantic! It’s no wonder Churchill feared it so much!
Churchill was an idiot
So glad I bought one
Tirpitz can engage yamato and montana
Yeah but not Großer Kurfürst and Friedrich Der Grosse who are technically Tirpitz's sisters
(If u are playing the Tirpitz)
the British will find u, and they will tallboy u...
Tirpitz is a waifu
Leave my sister alone horny weeb
@@kysforreal123. Good to see you again.
Get away from me!

*meanwhile USS Iowa laughing evily*
Confused Admiral I’m guessing I’ll find you on most naval videos
ahahahahahahahhahahahaahahahahah
the Tirpitz hid in the feuds because her only Atlantic port was destroyed not cos they were scared of losing her.
So we are both right
ben taylor *Fjords bruh, not Feuds.
@@bentaylor809 Actually youre both wrong, Tirpitz was put into the Northern Atlantic Due to the sinking of Bismarck, which, Due to the Twin ships being considered the largest Battleships at the time, and both under german control, it nearly killed German Morale for the Naval Part of the war, so when Tirpitz was finally located, it took much much longer to Actually defeat her due to the Position the Germany Military was trying to do to defend her
@@diabolicespurr Two yeaes ago? Jesus I'm old.
Tbh mate, I'd argue this is a combination of all 3 factors
coolest premium ship is the TIRPITZ
Can you please stop using miles and start using the metric system in your videos like pretty much all of the modern world does?
+TheLordOfWar No.
No
In the Navy you never use Km, you normally use Nautic Miles..
+TheLordOfWar A simple way to convert; a mile is 1.6 kilometers. A kilometer is 0.6 miles.
It's not difficult to visualise. But if it is go 1.5 and 0.5
***** Of course, lol! I typed it backwards. Doh!
MODERN GUIDED TORPEDOES + 3 BOMBERS + 5 SUPER GUNS = AWSOME
"Tear pits".
Indeed...
Tirpitz wasn't beneath the waves as a large portion of her hull was still poking out of the water in the Fjords she was sunk in
"Easy on the Eyes" Yeah the ship definitely looks really good compared to the American or Japanese designs.
+ZinXlX how dare you talk shit about my beloved Nagato
+Alice Lynn its sarcasm
+Alice Lynn The Amagi is more sexy than the Nagato tho. Don't get me wrong, I love the Nagato ^_^
Sank 2 Tripitz in my Nagato :D
MLP FEVER I like the Fuso too ^_^ Fuso,Nagato and Amagi are my favs :D
+zam023 How about Yamato ;-;
Tripitz: i died with honour
Bismarck: Me two
Montana: uhh...what

Tripitz and Bismarck: Hey Montana cud u get this a therapist please
World of Tirpitz hear i come

When is the Tirpitz available for purchase again then? I dont see it for sale in the shop!
+just Shane It is now, but as part of a bundle.
Richardsen
I cant find the bundle you speak of in the WoWS shop! :( Where can I find this bundle? because I cant find it..
just Shane Perhaps it has to do with the server? It is available now in NA: na.wargaming.net/shop/wows/?item=1338
Perhaps it is out of stock in EU.
Richardsen Damn, I am on the EU server, thats problably why it is not for sale yet then! Anyway thank you very much for the info though Richardsen, much appreciated! :)
Guess I'm just gonna have to wait, like alot of other people on the Eu server! ;)
just Shane
Glad to be of help. And look on the bright side: you will probably get it a much lower price when sold outside of the bundle.
I love how they pronounce Tirpitz
2:35 Yeah, good luck with that considering all the Leningrads and Kievs out there
Torpedos are a problem too though for the user. Because they can actually glue your Tirpitz to close quarters fights and if the player isn’t very wise, the torpedo tubes onboard can drag you into close quarters fights that all Battleships should not be involved in and end badly for your Tirpitz.
$70 for a virtual ship.
kek.
With that price you may get a scale model kit of the Tirpitz lol
0:55
Ok first it's not long range
Second she was scuttled and not sunk by torpedo instead it only speeds up the flooding caused by the scuttling process
+goff0103 but not armor at all.Tirpitz has a 350mm armor belt =P
goff0103 if they dont nerf HE dumbfire the playerbase will go on a riot anyway...
+Folker46 ! After the ship came out there were many around. I own a Tirpitz myself and I rarely have battles with more than three of them
What Kongo didn't have 15" guns!!
Nice video. Unfortunately, Tirpitz has been affected by the power creep of the new premiums and French line - Missouri, Musashi, Ricelieu....Tirpitz struggles in most engagements now
“Only 350x heavier than a white wale”
Are you trying to make a joke here?
Bought her, somehow liked her because she's the best money printer together with Atago. In return, I really found out that she's like a battlecruiser instead of a battleship :)
+Nguyễn Trí Which was not the case in reality. The Bismarck-class was comparable in firepower, range and armor to the Iowa-class.
+Doctor Life MD holy $h17 it means WG has over-nerfed its armor and firepower???
I don't know how good or bad is the accuracy in real life but the most important thing for me is to reset the proper reload and armor and firepower as well
İts on the market buy it then
+James Nicholson Serb and Victor laugh and rub their hands.
+Toprak özdemir
yes ok 1
The tirpitz is great damage for queen of the north from world of Warships :)
H Class Please.
+Dark Prelate Mohandar Next year along with the regular German Battleship tree
+Dark Prelate Mohandar They're going to release H-44, you know.
+Yellow Submarine Well, we can see Yamatos and Montanas sink by the dozens, if they release the H44-class... bloody hell, those ships had the heaviest armament and thickest armor out of all planned vessels.
Doctor Life MD
WG is still a Russian company though. They will certainly find a way to nerf them to the ground ;-)
Nathan Peterson They will do it, but may not release it for players. Same happens to P-1000 monster in wot.
In the current version, of cause Tirpitz's main gun can easily penetrate cruiser's armor. However, the issue is in close range, even I aiming at a full broadside cruiser's water line where citadel should be, all shells over-penetrated. And in the meantime, enemy torpedos already under the water.
Tripitz is my Favorite batlleship (Just kidding Bismarck is better lol)
Well i think Tirpitz is better that the bismarck because for one think she has torpedoes
“She is the queen of cruisers”
Des Moines(which can bounce 15in shells): X doubt
X
Made In German
Tirpitz/Bismarck are both better than Lenin and Stalingrad (BB'S) but since WG doesnt like Galuk they made -ur- *OUR* BB's too op
What? Wargaming what? Did you just call Bismarck a she the ship was called a "he"
At boat therapy HQ´s
Boat: So Tirptiz, why are you here?
Tirp: Well, i´ve been feeling insecure, no matter what i do and how good i do my older brother always gets all the attention, no matter how bad he fucked up just because he sunk La Hood.
Boat: I see, who is this boat brother?
Tirp: He is called Bismarck, he even have a cool Sabaton song now
Boat: oh... *PRIDE OF A NATION A BEAST MADE OF STEEL?*
Tirp: Yeah exac...
Boat: *KING OF THE OCEAN HE WAS MADE TO RULE THE WAVES ACROSS THE SEVEN SEAS!!!!*
T: Not this shit again
I love the Tirpitz! just wish I had enough money to spend so I can buy her...
And after all that, only to have those magnificent capital ships sunk or neutralized early in the war, barely doing any damage for all the lives and treasure sunk into them.
i like how says it like “tyirpitss”
Turn on subtitles. 0:24 it says “Raping convoys” wtf
Lmao sounds about rigth whit those seconderys
They praised it toward the end but forgot to repeat that it has slingshots for AA guns
Tirpitz Speed: 31 Knots
Montana And Yamato: I CANT CATCH UP
USS Iowa: But i can
How about "Armada:Nagato" Please?

The great Tirpitz and RIP her sister ship and in Blitz her sister ship and herself is remembered
" She has strangely weak main guns " They say as literally firing HE instead of AP, you gotta be kidding me-
WoW tirpis is amazing in battle
Excellent ship to play.
A fantastic mix between american firepower and british survivability makes this ship an incredible dreadnought.

PRIDE OF A NATION, A BEAST MADE OF STEEL ___________ IN MOTION! KING OF THE OCEAN, HE WAS MADE TO RULE ACROSS THE SEVEN SEAS!
Sabaton Bismarck
It is also the bismark version battleship
"in real life, she didn't see planes often" YOU WHAT?! haha
Its a fun ship to play when youre not constantly being focus fired
Now i want to play world pf warships and get that battleship
Can’t wait for this on console
TIRPITZ AND YAMATO TERE THE COOLES SHIP IN THE GAME
sorry to disapoint you guys, but Bismark WILL be a prenium ship also, it's a different Tier 8 that will go in the tech tree
+Evelynn The Widow Maker Source?
+Evelynn The Widow Maker At least give a source...
this is false and there is no source
+Evelynn The Widow Maker Highly unlikely, actually pretty impossible.
I wasn't sunk by a torpedo, the torpedo destroyed my rudder and I had to scuttle
You were going down either way, scuttling or no scuttling. You just hastened your sinking by scuttling
Oh my. I am afraid this might be my second premium ship after the Murmansk.
Honestly I think matchmaking should be changed so that if a ship was made for a particular region, it would see more or less ships of a certain class, just to be more realistic.
LOL At the subtitles. Tear pits, tippets, tear pizzas...
If Hitler would have sent the Bismarck and the Tirpitz out together that would have made things a lot harder to deal with
Tirpitz was still undergoing crew training so it will take a long time before Bismarck and Tirpitz could sail together
