It isn’t a best friend, it isn’t a perfect companion that fulfills all needs- it was for financial/food security, and to raise children. Men got sex, women got security. Asking for more than that is a recipe for disaster. That doesn’t mean I don’t strive for more, but I keep my expectations in place.

I’d say that has a lot to do with it but these things are complicated. from my own life it seems ladies are far less willing to put in work for a relationship especially those who’ve been abused they get conditioned in a way an see guys as abusers which causes them to be over critical about any perceived slight against them for example forgetting to pick them something up after you get off work like a pop or something they’ll take it to mean you aren’t thinking or caring about them lol while at the same time doing the bare minimum expecting the guy to break his own legs trying to make them happy haha.
