I like to have the same rule that I do for first class trains, which is that I don’t wanna pay more than for the upgrade than I did for the original ticket
I have a general rule where I only fly business class in long haul usually ICN-AUH-MAN/LHR/MUC. I don't mind paying double the economy fare because I can get work done or have a sleep, so it is worthwhile. Great video. Subscribed :)

Great approach to a business class video as well, since I think most viewers have never and may never fly business class. I've got a some tips when flying CE on BA (that help you make it more worth it). 1. Use the SOUTH 'fast track' security area as it's no where near many premium check in zones that will want to use this lane so it's usually quieter and quicker. 2. Arrive early and use the B Gates Club lounge before flying instead of using the North/South lounge, its quieter, has similar or BETTER facilities and food and a shorter queue for showers (yes, your ticket at T5 includes the shower facilities). Make sure to use the WALKWAY to get back to the A Gates 1 hour before the flight departs, if the gate is called, you've left it too late. 3. Find a staff member in the lounge and ask for CHAMPAGNE (the real deal). The lounges have champagne available on request and Prosecco left out.
As a passenger agent, you did perfectly with 'filming' the interactions. Please never film us, aside from being illegal in several countries - we cop so much abuse & stalking. We've got to deal with all the best of people, but also all the absolute worst of people.
I never intentionally film anyone but it's more I always feel nervous even filming myself because I'm worried they will think I'm trying to secretly film them!!
Ah you've been missed Chelsea! Another brilliant review/vlog. And a very well timed - I just bought 3 return BA business flights in the sale and I can get a sneak peek of Basel airport before my Eurovision trip!
Can recommend doing this with a little one as well. The crew take out the middle table thing, so for a couple with an under 2 it's a free seat you'd otherwise have to pay for, rather than them being stuck on your lap. Extra value! Less queues and less stress also makes it worthwhile, if the price is right.
Great video and hopefully you didn't have any issues talking all the time. I think I would be too self conscious! Although believe it or not Heathrow doesn't allow you to video there! Great angles with the Pocket 3 We only ever fly business on short haul, often on points. You had a newer plane, so you did well there. The biggest issue with not boarding early is the lack of overhead storage. Especially if in Row 1 where we often are. But you do get decent legroom. Never be afraid to ask for another drink or three ;) Just don't pick up a hire car however!
As long as you know what you're getting I think it's perfectly adequate. I enjoy the fast track and feeling a little more cossetted. If you go in thinking you're getting a lie flat bed you'll be disappointed. There is a live board outside of the closest lounge that tells you which lounge is quietest, you can also get this as a web page. I often walk across to the B lounge as it's most quiet. We are always really early 😁
Flew EuroBuisness on BA when I emigrated. Worked out cheaper as I was bringing 2 suitscases and a carry on and a rucksack. Plus I got to sip champagne in the lounge and read my goodbye letters my friends had written me. Well worth it! If I'd paid for excess luggage weight and additional luggage on the economy ticket I'd have paid more.
This is a lovely video! Thought I'd give the video a quick squizz before I go read a book, but here I am 20 minutes later!! I have to know though, what was the guy next to you thinking???
😆 We chatted very early on and I explained what I was up to which made it all a lot less awkward!!! The seat in between us made it so much easier to film and thanks to how noisy planes are, as long as I held my mic up and spoke under my voice, no one could really hear me. THANK THE LORD haha!
I also need to mention this, even on the cheapest business class fares with British Airways, you can change your flight to any other equivalent flight with room from the midnight before your flight. Also, you do not pay a fare difference for this swap when doing it on the same day as your original flight. There is no change fee either. So sometimes, I have booked the last flight of the day or a ticket on sale for maybe £75 for that leg, and then I have swapped my flight to the £250 value flight. Something to mention is that this is not guaranteed. So you need to be prepared to take the original planned flight. This can be a great way to save money to get on a better time flight. This method is ONLY valid on direct flights within Europe
Nice video. I have flown BA European Business class twice - the first flight was from LHR to Glasgow. Flight cancelled - spent 9 hours in the lounge which was very nice. Finally arrived in Glasgow 11 hours delayed - should have taken the train. Second flight, Edinburgh back to LHR - flight delayed 3 hours, took over an hour to get our bags. I have flown over 2.5 million miles on Delta and don't have these problems - must have been a bit of bad luck.
I remember flying into Heathrow a few years ago and there was a £5 difference between the Economy & Club Europe. It's quite the different experience to get through security in T5 without being in a queue for 20+ minutes
As always, terrific info and video ! 60-75 quid is what I'd be willing to pay. Will you please share the make of your green hard case luggage ? It's really good looking ;)
Great video thanks, generally whilst I still have BA silver I won’t pay extra on a cash ticket for the onboard experience as I still have lounge access / fast track with status. I’ll fly CE on avios tickets only. This obviously wasn’t the case before they announced the changes as I did pay CE fares for the Tier points, however with that reason now gone i generally won’t bother until my status drops to bronze/blue. I may not even bother at all unless I can find another Oneworld partner airline where CE is worth crediting too.
On the topic of champagne on board, I vividly recall a shortish (1.5 hrs) flight during which my colleagues emptied a whole bottle. The kind steward actually offered to open a second bottle for us but we’d had enough. It was quite nice.
I;ve only ever paid cash for a Club Europe flight once, that was £150 return to Dublin. As I was going to a wedding, I needed to check in a suit bag as well. And I noticed you mentioned about the lounges having a space to put your luggage in, personally even on Club Europe I check everything in, they priority tag the luggage and its always the first off and by the time you have gone through passport control, the bags are usually on the way. Lounge wise, some of the airports are a bit hit and miss. Lisbon was ok, Milan was awful and Madrid was superb with access to the Iberia lounges. You need to go long haul to see a decent lounge though and that's usually with a one world partner like Qatar.
That’s great to know about Madrid. I haven’t done many Club Europe flights but Rome (which I managed to get for less than economy!) was the best I’d been in!
I would 2nd that about the Madrid Lounge as it’s the Iberia non-Schengen lounge, better than BA at Heathrow, no champagne but Cava being Spanish, food is better too
You should try the Club Europe flying from Gatwick. The dedicated check-in is much smaller and chaotic. The lounge is nice though not as plush as T5 Heathrow. Like the vid!
I much prefer to save on flights and spend the extra on accomodation. I never see the point in paying extra amounts for a few hours of comfort. Just done a £65 each way from London to Dubai with Wizz, a £300+ saving which paid for my hotel for the entire stay. Each to their own!
I can't believe the lack of queues at passport control at Lisbon. Went last May and it took two and a half hours to get through, literally thousands of people waiting.
I’m going club Europe to Tenerife later in the year. Part of companion voucher avios. It was same price over economy of booking an extra legroom seat (know this isn’t that most likely). For that it feels value, food on a 4+ hour flight sounds good to me.
Hi First time viewer..Great little video, love your enthusiasm. Iv been trying to find the page you went on at BA, i cant seem to find it,... Could you plesae send me the link? thanks Jon
I flew to Germany for work, upgrded myself using avios to Club Europe on the return flight. Lounge access was not the best (poor / limited food options) but did get a full afternoon tea onboard and my case was first off the luggage belt on arrival to Heathrow. Also upgraded after a cruise last year from Italy with my wife. Paid the upgrade fee then, lounge access was rather good, interesting food choices and then there was a full hot meal on the flight too. Bottom line is yes, it can be worth it, decide on a case by case basis. (Be aware, there is not a Club lounge at London City Airport!)
I am always disappointed by airport lounges these days. Never feels worth it and most are so basic. Which airports in UK have the best ones and are they good value in your opinion?
It's interesting because the best lounges are the ones where you can't pay to get in - and BA fits into that category. However, I do think this offering is similar to a lounge where you can pay to go in one for £30 - £40. I quite like the No 1 lounges. Also, the Club Rooms are really nice as they often are a lot quieter, though you will pay a lot more!
I'm sure what people really like about lounges is simply the perception of exclusivity. Because the food is mediocre at best, the wine is always awful and they get quite crowded. If I have to spend any time in an airport, I'd rather find a decent restaurant or cafe and hang out there.
I'd maybe pay what I would spend on the upgraded seat as that seemed to be the main perk. I pack light normally so it's nice to have the option to bring more but not sure I'd really use it and I never seem to be at the airport long enough to enjoy the lounge.
1. Worth it for tier points. 2. Heathrow is awful for connections. 3. In Milan at least, they didn’t even open the Club Europe luggage check in until 2 h before departure. So security etc first before limited lounge access. You can’t cane it too hard there! Not sure how it works if you start at LHR first though.
@ We’ll see. But a lot of people will get downgraded once the new rules set in and it will take time for them to rebuild, if at all. In the meantime, those lounges will not be as busy.
@@sandanista2002Surprisingly they won’t be that much quieter as a result of the changes, there’s been some analysis on this, the only lounge that may get significantly quieter is the Galleries First lounge as that’s a status only lounge
Depending on demand, biz, class can sometimes actually be a few pounds cheaper than economy... seriously. Max I would pay is £50 but also time of flight as mid morning and afternoon flights have reduced catering. . Fast track is good at busy times similar check in , boarding etc
Love this vid but where are you putting your dji !? I travelled upper class with virgin last year and couldn't find anywhere to set mine and film!! Your angles are brill!!
I love that you noticed this!! The tray table in between was brilliant for filming, and also with the small tripod stand connected - making it quite long - it fit perfectly into top pocket where magazine the magazine goes (the one in the back of the headrest) and it allowed me to do all sorts of angles. I was very impressed with that 😆
@@KatySpence In the magazine holder but from the next seat along for some, and then others in mine! However I do have a fix for you if you don't have that - you just have to take a full length tripod - so you stand it on the floor and make sure it's one that doesn't take up a lot of floor space. I did it on a long haul business class flight for instagram and it worked really well!
9 rows of business on an evening flight to Lisbon on a sunday night, theyve either got lots of connecting passengers or theyve really priced that ticket well
Interesting to see a different perspective, I flew to America with BA a few months ago and it was probably the worst experience with any airline. Staff were rude, food was awful and the planes were filthy
@@CheapHolidayExpert I haven't done the rounds testing them all, it depends on dietary/health etc requirements. But there is a shortcoming in the system, only one criteria can be selected - for instance vegetarian, or diabetic .. if a person is vegetarian and diabetic the can only select one! I'm sure a kitchen could prepare a diabetic friendly vegetarian meal but the system does not permit such request.
@@CheapHolidayExpertthere used to be a seafood/pescatarian option, which was great but don’t know if airlines offer that anymore. I once was in coach and had tasty fresh shrimp in a salad and something else but I forget, whilst other people had some tired overcooked looking meat dish. I was not only served first, but had finished before some people got their meal. 🦐 🍤 🦀.
@@CheapHolidayExpert I just go for the Asian vegetarian, you get a vegetable curry and rice, can't go wrong which you can do with so many other airline meals!
I treated myself to business on BA/Iberia to/from Madrid in November and because I got it on sale, I think it was maybe a couple of hundred more than economy - that felt a comfortable amount to spend, even before I experienced the benefits. General check-in and security was busier than your experience, so getting fast-laned was useful, especially as it meant I could absolutely rinse the lounges! I went to Galleries South at Heathrow and it was nice enough, but a bit cramped; by contrast, the one at Madrid is huge, high ceilings, apron views, lovely food, loads of booze (they even had Grey Goose rather than Smirnoff!) and I think there was a sit-down al a carte bit as well, but I'm a buffet boy at heart. The meals on the flights were nice enough, but the standout was the FA on the way back - she was utterly fabulous, proper old school and made it feel like an occasion. My only regret is not booking the Iberia flight earlier in the day that operates with a wide body, so I could've got a proper lie-flat seat. It was my own fault, as I'd checked Flight Radar and thought the A350 did the flight I'd booked on, but no - regular old A320 for me :(
Many years ago I visited Madrid and travelled on a half empty 747 ... OK it was economy but I had a row of 3 seats to myself. Shame the flight wasn't longer!!
Sounds like a perfect use of going business in Europe. I managed to get on one of those new A350 test flights to Madrid. 2 hours to enjoy the Club Suite! It was amazing!!!
Love BA club Europe you get in the lounge can eat and drink what you like . Plus get free drink and food on board . You can drink as much as you like . Most airlines don’t say about nuts as they can’t and most Middle East airlines don’t even know what’s in food . They can’t cater for everyone as there is far to much waste as many have eaten in the lounge prior to flying . You can’t beat BA crew . You can ask for more on any flight . Bags I am afraid are down to individual airport
You have to also weigh the benefits of what you get with a business ticket in Club Europe and then weigh those against budget airlines and economy who will charge you for those benefits. 1. Business Class Lounge is free with ticket. A lounge without business class sets you back £40 2. Wifi is Free for business class. £4.99 without 3. Baggage 2x 32 Kg bags, 1x carryon and 1x shoulder bag Free. Without £65 per 32 kg so for two that is £130 4. Meals and Drinks included. Without then its ordering of a menu meal deal will be around £8.99 (cheapest) 5. Priority boarding. 6. Business class middle seat is empty so no being squashed against the person next to you. All these little add on's that are charged to you when you fly economy come to the cost of around £183 so add that to your ticket price and I will be flying Business just not to have the hassle of having to always pay and it being ready ahead of time. Giving me that little extra comfort. But I'm a solo traveller and built big at 6ft 6, so an empty seat to my right is very appealing XD
London Heathrow is a very Marmite type of airport. You either love it or hate it. Last October, I flew on BA from Ljubljana in Slovenia to Manchester. There aren't that many direct flights, either, from the UK or Ireland; the only other flight being EasyJet from Gatwick-the only year-round service. I got off the international flight, went by bus (15 minutes) to the terminal, then through passport gates, then another security and cabin baggage search, as we were going on the domestic section. Then, to the gate on a bus (15 minutes) to the same bloody aircraft up to Manchester. The flight dispatcher recognised me from getting off: "Hello again," with a smile that said, "I reckon you're really pissed off and tired." Thankfully, the flight was half empty, so I had a row to myself, and it only took 33 minutes until we landed at Manchester. My flight home to Berlin on EasyJet from Manchester was pleasantly relaxing compared to the experience at Heathrow.
I always buy food and drink on the plane 🤣 I have travelled alot with my grandparents and they splashed the cash 💷💷 (not rich🤣 just starting/ending their holiday) x
Spending on the plane: Basically zero. Long haul, I take a sleeping pill and bring a thermos of Starbucks to wake me up. Short haul, who needs to eat expensive airplane food? Not I.
Best lounge I ever went in was a plaza premium lounge at Toronto Pearson that had so much good food (and a bit of bubbly) and it only cost me 30 CAD which is less than 20 quid!
They don't always guarantee you a decent meal or what you want if you order a special meal. I ordered a vegetarian meal and they gave the last one to the lad sitting next to me who decided to ask for a veggy meal on a whim when he wasn't veggy. I then went hungry on a transatlantic overnight flight because all that was left for me was beef stew. I recommend always bringing some of your own food just in case.
I bring honey roasted cashews with me. The flavour is the same during the flight as it is ordinarily (which is not true of all foods) and very few people are allergic to cashews, so it’s extremely unlikely that you won’t be able to eat them.
Tried the B gate one, bit quieter on the day I flew. Tricky to get back from if you are not actually going from the B gates. I did not seem to be able to get the shuttle train back. You have to get the right lift down to the lower level - took me a while to work out and necessitated a bit of brisk walking to get to the main terminal gate on time.
Heathrow to Rome is the only time I've ever flown business class. I did it a few years ago but got it for a steal. It was an early flight so I took real advantage of the breakfast service. I may have taken a couple of pastries away with me..... 😂. From memory it wasn't that much more expensive. Also, the fact you only get one 23kg bag in economy over two 32kg in business even if you only take one checked bag it's worth it.
Re the nuts you’d be surprised. When I was cabin crew we’d sometimes get people coming on board asking us to make an announcement that there was a passenger with a severe nut allergy on board and to refrain from eating nuts. So imagine their surprise when we followed company policy and not only refused to make such an announcement but then informed them that we would be serving nuts during the flight. Yeah, it generally went down like a cold cup of sick. All we could do is check they had their EpiPen and that was it. Generally a relative of theirs would get very upset at this point and tell us that if we served nuts it could kill their wife/child etc. At which point we told them if that was really so then they shouldn’t be flying anyway as we could never be sure that nuts or products with nuts wouldn’t be onboard and gave them the option to offload themselves. They never did. We served the nuts. And all was well.
Someone with nut allergies, is it not when they eat it themselves? Can you get a severe reaction just from coming into contact with one? Why does someone with a nut allergy who can’t eat nuts mean everyone else can’t eat nuts? Genuinely trying to understand
@ Yeah that’s kinda the point. If someone has an allergy so severe that their life could be put at risk from airborne particles, then they shouldn’t be flying anyway as we can never guarantee that nuts won’t be present on the aircraft. Most people with a nut allergy however don’t fall into that category. Hence we didn’t have any issues serving nuts with them on board.
We use Avios and companion voucher to book Club Europe. Sometimes the prices can be expensive for what they offer. It looks like in urs you came up trumps. Last time we used LHR and Palma lounges the latter wasnt that great. This year we are going to Paphos Club Europe 4 hours and Economy back, 4 of us around £400 🎉 bargain
@CheapHolidayExpert sometimes they are out there , it can be hit and miss. We never go Businsss Long Haul as I've never seen a good price and it's not worth the ££s with BA in my opinion. We do love the processco 🫣🥰
Don’t use a companion voucher in Europe unless it’s about to expire and have no other use for it, use it in long haul business for the best value/points saving
@nickf619 if you have enough Avios for long haul. It's a option but say BA you have an upgrade voucher which we use, I'm not paying for World Traveller to WT Plus it's not worth it, then to get to Club World is 1000s of Avios so Europe short haul works better
@ fair enough, yes with the Barclays upgrade voucher you need max avios but the Amex comp voucher you don’t which means it can be tricky to use the upgrade on long haul
We fly BA CE Gatwick to Paphos every year. IMO the best thing is having the middle seat free so that we are never sat next to some abomination of humanity. We eat and drink as much as we like in the lounge and on the flight and then fall into a pre booked private transfer. Paphos airport only has one premium lounge and its very poor. Prices have got a bit silly so we are likely to try booking a row of 3 seats for the 2 of us on a budget airline next year
Do you get to check in and go through security early? Otherwise surely the lounge isn't worth it. Last time we got to the airport early so we'd have more time for lunch, and we still had to wait to for check in to open so it was pointless!
At Heathrow Terminal 5 (you'd need to check each ones own rules) the check in desks for bag drop do open 'at 3:30am on the day of departure' for Club Europe, and for Euro Traveller (economy) it doesn't open until 'from 2 hours before your flight departure' - so that is quite a good perk actually isn't it!
I’m not sure about priority boarding to be honest. When I’ve flown in business, I’ve just found I’ve felt self conscious sitting there as everyone else gets on. And yo7 end up on the plane for even longer. I’d rather be on the aircraft for the minimum time
I flew BA to Vancouver last summer, going out in Premium and back Business. Knowing BA's fondness for pork, and being a Jew who doesn't keep kosher but won't eat pork, I booked the kosher meal. Going, the food was amazing, but coming back it was almost inedible. I am not sure if it was prepared in Vancouver or whether it came from London and was just overcooked as a result I don't know, but I did get my food first.
Every 3 weeks for long videos but lots of short videos on travel too! I do hope it can go up in the near future, but don’t want to over commit as really want to keep this up!
Thank for this loved it. I’m not sure it’s worth it you missed the chance to have 2 duty free runs and the opportunity to buy a scratch card like you get on budget travel! Ps you should of drunk more 🤣
The nut thing has always been weird on BA. I once got upgraded to Business with my family back in the day when BA wrote on their website that they operated nut free. I lost something and put my hand in my seat which I discovered was full of assorted nuts! When I asked the cabin crew the lady replied “we can’t ask people who have paid a lot of money for their seats to not eat nuts!” And looked horrified. I went a washed my hands and then panicked about everything I touched.
European Business Class like BA's Club Europe is a rip off - just a middle seat blocked out - all Australian & Asian airlines give you a proper business class seat (same as US domestic first class). Lounges busy as so many people have Frequent Flyer Status - hence BAs recent rule changes to make it more difficult to make it to Gold or Silver status.
@@CheapHolidayExpert Done it with Virgin Australia on specials/ auctions for less than that - a UK vlogger offered $100 in a business class auction and got it for a 4 hour Perth -Sydney flight. Virgin's economy extra is only an extra $30 to $60 per sector and the legroom is better than Club Europe and you quite often get a vacant seat next to you. Australian airfares are normally higher and often more for the same flights starting here rather than Europe. But Asian budgets are cheaper and often have Premium seats. Scoot Plus is 38 inch legroom & they have "Scoot in silence" seats where kids under 12 not allowed. (but my biggest issue in UK is Manchester Airport - worst in world I use, Goat track between terminals, travellators never seem to work. poor lounges & slow security)
@@nickf619 Don't disagree - but to me the most important thing is the better space / seat. Often don't eat anything on planes and I don't drink alcohol. So I always think it odd airlines emphasize food options - but others have other priorities. You'd never fly Scoot Plus for the food - great, cheap large seat but worst airline food anywhere I have experienced
The cheap holiday expert has realised a flaw in the name does not allow for elaborate travel! The best way forward is probably to rename to the business class expert :)
This is what flying international was like in the 80s. If you're keen on drinking alcohol until you can't stand up in what amounts to a noisy crowded pub, it would be good value.
BA European Business Class is crap compared to international BC. I won't pay 3 times the amount for an empty seat in the middle and £15 worth of booze and a cheap meal.
European business class is the biggest con in air travel - I've done it in Asia and you literally get your own cubicle with a lie flat bed for a comparatively reasonable price. If you really want lounge access you can just pay for access between £25-£40 in the UK most of the time.
Gotta balance out recording a video without interrupting other people's journeys. I'm actually pretty happy with how it came out - and no complaints from my fellow passengers 😆
Go on - how much extra would you pay for this on top of economy?? I WANNA KNOW!
I like to have the same rule that I do for first class trains, which is that I don’t wanna pay more than for the upgrade than I did for the original ticket
Oh that's a good way to think about it!
I have a general rule where I only fly business class in long haul usually ICN-AUH-MAN/LHR/MUC. I don't mind paying double the economy fare because I can get work done or have a sleep, so it is worthwhile. Great video. Subscribed :)
Double economy is a pretty good rule, worth it if it's a special trip.
@@tomsoden1738 That makes sense if it's still within budget!

I’m screenshotting this. Thank you so much!

Considering the cost of checking a bag can cost £30-40 each way on all carriers, if you can get a return for under £100 it really can be a good deal
Absolutely. However, I rarely check in a bag these days as I find it just slows me down. But I am mostly doing short trips!
100%. I love it when the scenario at hand means you *have* to take the better option 😉
Another great video! Welcome back!
Great video 👏🏽
The one time I had club Europe on the way back from Porto the club lounge was closed 🤦🏽♀️😂
Nooooooo unacceptable 😭 but a great shout to remember to check opening times!!!
Loved this Chel - definitely want to try this at some point, but it’s got to be the right price
Also enjoyed the two girls trying to crash into you at 21.09 😂

I have been trying to work out how you are sticking the Pocket 3 to all those plane surfaces but I’m stumped haha
Oh noooo you had the most rotten luck ever!!!
I've been advised by 'frequent flyer' friends that they usually avoid flying BA because they're always cancelling flights.
I remember flying into Heathrow a few years ago and there was a £5 difference between the Economy & Club Europe. It's quite the different experience to get through security in T5 without being in a queue for 20+ minutes
£5!!!! Incredible. I did once get it for cheaper than economy when coming back from Rome!!
As always, terrific info and video ! 60-75 quid is what I'd be willing to pay. Will you please share the make of your green hard case luggage ? It's really good looking ;)
It’s from Made.com from years ago when they did a very short stint of making luggage 😆
Wished my missus would drink like you, especially when we are fortunate enough to use the lounges.
Nice video. What are your thoughts on the BA changes?
On a plane I spend £0 (unless things have gone very wrong) but for £60 or more you got a decent deal there
Great video thanks, generally whilst I still have BA silver I won’t pay extra on a cash ticket for the onboard experience as I still have lounge access / fast track with status.
Yes it's really changed things up hasn't it!!!
On the topic of champagne on board, I vividly recall a shortish (1.5 hrs) flight during which my colleagues emptied a whole bottle. The kind steward actually offered to open a second bottle for us but we’d had enough. It was quite nice.
Excellent work!!!!! 👏
Or London City where there's no fast track and no lounge at all!
Ah I suppose I could fly Club Europe again… just to *test* it 😆
@@Red83ua I've used fast track at City, but you are right about the lounge.
I much prefer to save on flights and spend the extra on accomodation. I never see the point in paying extra amounts for a few hours of comfort. Just done a £65 each way from London to Dubai with Wizz, a £300+ saving which paid for my hotel for the entire stay. Each to their own!
Yeah - I always say that you all end up in the same destination anyway, and it’s only for a few hours!
I guess you would say that if you have only flown economy.
I thought that was James next to you. Did that bloke think you were a bit bonkers otlr did you give him a heads up? 😂😂😂
I can't believe the lack of queues at passport control at Lisbon. Went last May and it took two and a half hours to get through, literally thousands of people waiting.
That's bad luck, must have been some flights in from Portugal's former colonies - I've flown there many times and never queued.
Honestly. If you fly economy you can get real cutlery, alcohol, 3 course meal, drinks throughout the flight minus the lounge access with 🥁Emirates!
Could you plesae send me the link? thanks Jon
It is in the video description - you can click from there : )
@@CheapHolidayExpert Thank you...😬
I normally track down a Boots and raid the meal deals at the terminal
The best value food in an airport!!
Same, I love a meal deal at the airport 😂
Another first time viewer, I've subscribed! Do look at other airlines too as with the changes to BA's rewards scheme viewers will be interested.
Ah thanks for watching!!! And I think the whole return journey can be so different based on what lounge you get, can't it?!
Have to agree - I’d actually fly premium economy instead and buy access to a lounge instead as works out cheaper.
We are travelling soon from Bristol is their anyway to get get cheaper lounge access please@CheapHolidayExpert
Taking our kids to NYC for their 21st flying air Lingus out of Manchester, any tips for cheap upgrades or lounge access please
You sound exactly the same as me!
Point 1 becomes irrelevant after April 1st unless you’re spending employers money and they’re expensive
I Hope Will See Real Business Class Seat In Europe Soon.Great Video
Me too!! ❤️
Well those BA lounges are going to be a lot quieter when the new status rules come in.
Haha, sadly a likely situation.
You’re so right.
No they won’t I book club or business regardless of point status .
I've managed to wangle a cheaper club europe from Rome before - it's a good feeling!!!
I was very impressed with that 😆
@CheapHolidayExpert how did you do the top down!?? I vlogged an entire solo trip last year and angles were my nemesis 😂
Also, please do long haul. You did a much better job than I did!!!!!
9 rows of business on an evening flight to Lisbon on a sunday night, theyve either got lots of connecting passengers or theyve really priced that ticket well
Yeh it was one of the biggest I’d seen (when I usually walk through 😆)
I came back from Sofia once and there were 12 rows of business! Needless to say after April that route will become much quieter in business
@nickf619 you mustve hit a group of tier point run avgeeks!
Interesting to see a different perspective, I flew to America with BA a few months ago and it was probably the worst experience with any airline. Staff were rude, food was awful and the planes were filthy
Where did you fly between?!
15:12 ordering a special meal is such a hack even in economy
No it's not, it's on my profile with BA
Any particular special meal you’d recommend???
A lounge without business class sets you back £40
2. Wifi is Free for business class. £4.99 without
3. Baggage 2x 32 Kg bags, 1x carryon and 1x shoulder bag Free. Without £65 per 32 kg so for two that is £130
4. Meals and Drinks included. Without then its ordering of a menu meal deal will be around £8.99 (cheapest)
I hear ya! It totally comes down to how much you’d realistically pay for all those little add ons for sure!!
How many glasses of champagne and prosecco did you have from arriving in LHR to getting off the plane? first time watching your video, subscribed!
Pahahaha. Probably 5. Poor effort it you ask me.
@@CheapHolidayExpertthey’re tiny glasses tbh which makes me feel like I’m getting ripped off 😂 Sometimes I feel like bringing my own normal size glass
You're the best keep up the entertainment 🤭
Ah thanks pal!
Great video but I would have expected you to ask for the champagne that they have if you ask! X
That was removed years ago, you can get a glass of Prosecco type fizz though
Spending on the plane: Basically zero. Long haul, I take a sleeping pill and bring a thermos of Starbucks to wake me up. Short haul, who needs to eat expensive airplane food? Not I.
Food you buy doesn’t the to be the best, does it?!!
Good video food looked good tbh
Best lounge I ever went in was a plaza premium lounge at Toronto Pearson that had so much good food (and a bit of bubbly) and it only cost me 30 CAD which is less than 20 quid!
That sounds AMAZING!
There's actually 3 lounges you can access.
The 2 you have shown and the one on the B gates.
Yes, I wrote in text that I'd missed one!! Have you been to the third one?
Tried the B gate one, bit quieter on the day I flew. Tricky to get back from if you are not actually going from the B gates. I did not seem to be able to get the shuttle train back. You have to get the right lift down to the lower level - took me a while to work out and necessitated a bit of brisk walking to get to the main terminal gate on time.
The 2 x 32kg bags is only if you are flying on USA routes though isn’t it?
Nope! You get that for European routes too 🎉 So definitely worth checking the price if you were needing to take that much anyway!
At least you didn’t spill espresso martini everywhere in the lounge again
pahahahaha you're a true OG
Heathrow to Rome is the only time I've ever flown business class. I did it a few years ago but got it for a steal. It was an early flight so I took real advantage of the breakfast service. I may have taken a couple of pastries away with me..... 😂. From memory it wasn't that much more expensive. Also, the fact you only get one 23kg bag in economy over two 32kg in business even if you only take one checked bag it's worth it.
I once flew home from Rome Club Europe for cheaper than economy 😆
@CheapHolidayExpert that's bonkers!
The British have a habit of not covering food! Even In the supermarket fresh pastries are not covered from the coughing sneezing 🤧🤢 people
Just a question- are you by any chance Welsh? Some words sounded really Welsh! ❤🏴
HA HA HA. I am. It tends to come out a little more after some booze 😆
How did you break free from the radiator?!
That's an amazing deal!!!
I’d rather be on the aircraft for the minimum time
Omg you’re so right about the awkward sit!!
What *I* want to know is how do you attach a camera in the plane to get the top-down view?
I’m using the DJI Osmo with the small tripod attachment and it was the perfect size to slot in the magazine holder compartment!!!
I just feel hungry after watching this. 😂😂
Oh interesting! The food quality can really change based on what country you’re flying from - I found that when flying back from India with virgin!
All longhaul food is catered at the outbound destination
1980s BA served full meals on Economy!!
I’ve seen those pics of them coming down the aisle with a lobster and all that! I’d love to recreate that 😆
Hi how often do you upload?
Every 3 weeks for long videos but lots of short videos on travel too! I do hope it can go up in the near future, but don’t want to over commit as really want to keep this up!
Thank for this loved it. I’m not sure it’s worth it you missed the chance to have 2 duty free runs and the opportunity to buy a scratch card like you get on budget travel! Ps you should of drunk more 🤣
Ha ha ha I could have won MILLIONS 😭 only have myself to blame
Prosecco vs sitting slightly longer on a plane? Hmmm...
Oh wow! Maybe they soon realised that they couldn’t control the business class guzzling nut fiends and so revoked the ban!
Ahh, A10 ...
Welcome to the bus.
😆
Set up a business that does travel vlogs then back charge on your tax claim as business expenses, its what all the others do.
Bare you able to book Australian and Asian business class options for £60 more? I think the extra fee is the key thing here!
Domestic first in the US is not as cheap as CE and the food is often way worse, it’s just a better seat
Haha - my other half would love that!!
This is what flying international was like in the 80s. If you're keen on drinking alcohol until you can't stand up in what amounts to a noisy crowded pub, it would be good value.
The Stefan guy was so funny with his moaning.
Yes I remembered it from years ago when I was making this!!
I spend money on WiFi as it relaxes me
I love to be disconnected for a little while but I do still like there to be the option to have WiFi!
I don't understand the obsession with Prosecco!
BA European Business Class is crap compared to international BC. I won't pay 3 times the amount for an empty seat in the middle and £15 worth of booze and a cheap meal.
I promise you I had more than £15 worth of booze… 😉

Club Europe isn't really business class
European business class is the biggest con in air travel - I've done it in Asia and you literally get your own cubicle with a lie flat bed for a comparatively reasonable price.
If you really want lounge access you can just pay for access between £25-£40 in the UK most of the time.
