I found this video helpful. I am 5 weeks PO and I do have a tendency to want to protect the operative knee. To hear you call it the strong knee is very helpful I'm still in rehab and do my daily exercises at home, but these are very helpful also. BTW, I did Pre- OP exercise weeks before I had surgery 2x daily. PT had said they can always tell when someone has done Pre- OP exercises compared to those who did not. Have a great day!
@@kathystclair9485 Hello Kathy! Pre-Op makes a HUGE difference. Great on you for putting in the work before your surgery. Recovering from a knee replacement, I’ve seen, is not for the weak, but it’s so worth it! I hope that you’re able to go back to doing things you once enjoyed.
This was a good video with good tips. I'm 8 months out and my knee is still stiff. Still doing exercises and walking great. My tip for you would be to ditch the music. It didnt add anything to the video and was in fact a bit annoying. Your tips were great though.

Hey Brando, I'm Irish living in Austria and they do everything very efficiently here! I had both knees done at once so I can't use a 'good' knee 😂! Both my surgeon and physiotherapist said "you can't protect a leg so you better just trust both of them" and they've given me exactly the same exercises as you've shown. I'm now 9 weeks post OP and doing really well. In fact I'm doing so much that I'm finding it hard to make time for my exercises🙈. Really love your video. All the best, Sara☺️🙏☺️

If the usa weren't so afraid of helping patients with pain control for two months, they'd be able to move better faster and sleep and have less anxiety and tears
Hello Jennifer! I think the medical culture in the US places less emphasis on addressing patient’s anxiety about recovery from a total knee replacement. A client of mine received manipulation under anesthesia just recently because she couldn’t get a handle on moving her knee enough due to the pain. I’m so sorry you’ve been having a tough time with your recovery. ❤️🩹 Unfortunately, the pain is going to be there. Let me know if there’s anything you’d like to know more about to help yourself recover!
