I'm looking for some P-Bass only bass for punk, grunge etc., not to deep bass sound, more trebly. Would you recomend build from scrap, or some Squier?

Also question about action - if I get too high action on strings, one of your vids you said you will use neck shin... So, is that all? Some credit card and fixed?

Look at the used Squier P basses all the newer models are PJ. Music man is a good choice too.
Yes it was on the KC Mustang build. If you can't get the action low enough a shim raises the neck lowering the action on the neck.

Can spray right up to the edge of fingerboard and when the paint dries use a razor to reveal the rosewood and the dot inlays.

Hand making scratchplates is a total pain in the arse job to get it looking well made. It takes hours.

I really dislike painted necks. Looks like heat gun time to me.
They only came in a few colors iirc. Mine is candy apple red. Swapped a high mass bridge on it, set the action decently low and use a pick to play it. They're lots of fun.
