There’s a huge difference between things like Suicide Squad, Concord, Saints Row Reboot, Dustborn, etc and things like Katamari Damacy, or Wind Waker, etc. Like, no dude, not EVERY single game needs to be overtly gears of war masculine. I think games like Astro Bot are good. There definitely is rated E games that appeal to kids too that don't need to be masculine. He says it's dumb that people bring up the fact he's comparing triple A games to random game pass indie games but it's a valid criticism. Not every game needs to cater to the masculine male audience. "Trials of Mana" is a remake of the 1995 classic SNES game "Seiken Densetsu 3." The original wasn't released in the West like many story-rich RPGs back in the day. I am a 45-year-old man and remember playing the original translated ROM on my PC. Although I believe in most things you say about games becoming more woke, the original "Trials of Mana" is probably older than you and definitely wasn't a woke SNES game. Also, having a colorful art style doesn't make something "woke" or "gay." The gay/trans community doesn't own colors. A game doesn't need to be dark, bleak, blood, and gore to be a good game.
I have this little philosophy that, as I always wish I could go back to those days, I wouldn't really want to go back to them. So I spent my childhood putting hundreds of hours into the Summer Jampack 2002 demo disc with Half-Life and Timesplitters 2 and Grand Theft Auto. I do think there are some activists going on right now that are trying to bring the game industry down, but Katamari Damacy is a game that came out in 2004 and its suppose to be fruitful and has wacky Japanese sense of humor. Bad games deserve to fail, this way developers can learn from their failures and start making good games again. If people reward bad games then it sends out the wrong message to these developers and they'll just keep making bad games, and as a result, things would never improve. So having this game fail is just natural selection of filtering out the trash.

It's really hard to agree with you in this one. Katamari has a huge fanbase and it isn't gay at all, theres is no Dei injected into it. There is definitely room for obscure indie games with cartoonish artstyles that are fun and goofy (as long as DEI is not inserted into it). What would help is if they came out with new badass masculine games as well as these games. Also nothing wrong with not liking the anime artstyle or jrps like Trials of Mana but don't call it gay, they tell amazing stories with masculine and feminine good looking characters. There is room for both inoffensive and non DEI cartoony/anime/obscure games and masculine badass games. You are aware that We Love Katamari came out in 2005 right? Trials of Mana came out in 1995 as a Japan only game? Neither game has left wing propaganda in it and Katamari in particular is a respected series, even has an exhibit. I do love stuff like DOOM and Quake, revolutionary games in the FPS genre, but sometimes, I like games with a bit more color and a lighthearted premise that are equally as revolutionary in other ways. Just to fact check you another time, We Love Katamari's remaster came out in June 2023! Trials of Mana's remake came out in April 2020. I'll say what I said to you on twitter earlier: anime/weird Japanese game does not equal gay. I'd be happy to debate you on appeal, fact checking and integrity.

None of these games you listed in this video are gay. 2 are crappy indie games and 2 are Japanese AA games. You should compare modern AAA to AAA 20 years ago. The major problem is AAA games cost too much and spent too long developing a single game. Compared to 20 years ago when they were shooting out a ton of games each month. Marketing for AAA also shifted from teenage and young adult men 20 years ago to pandering to everyone. Marketers and executives want more players even if it radically changes the look and feel of the original product. Look at the rise and success of asian gacha games. The gameplay for most gacha games are crap but they know their audience is majority male and pander heavily to the male gaze.
The issue isn't that games are expensive. The problem is that people are refusing to buy or play expensive games that feature woke agendas and these games have high production costs because companies decide to heavily invest in them. As a result, costly titles like Concord and Dustborn struggle to sell, causing these companies to lose money. Space marine 2 is expensive but it succeeded since the story and gameplay is great and the game isn’t woke.
Well dei hiring practices also reduces the quality of games because the Devs have less skill and experience. If the writers are ideologues they'll put politics before good storytelling and write trash aswell. You lost me with Katamari and Trials. The first one is a comedy masterpiece and the rainbows were there before being hijacked by the alphabet crowd. The original story is that the King got drunk and destroyed the moon and stars, after which he ordered you (his son) to fix it all. He's quite abusive and a funny character to boot. I find that I get so bored gaming now, because there is no struggle. But then when I play a game that has a struggle it feels a bit foreign and I I have to revert my mind into thinking, "No, this is how games are meant to be." The instant dopamine hit style games really took away the fun of solving complex problems and working hard to get better.

This is probably one of the first videos I disagree with. You also have to take in consideration the volume of games being released now due to the investors and fans that have moved into the video game design market compared to back then. There is a free market and a mass increase of genres within video games industry. You cannot make a single game and have it appeal to every single gamer out there. You are also comparing a lot of more T-M rated games set in the First/Third person mature shooter to puzzle games like even Katamari. That game there was innovative for its time back then and filled the need for just plain entertainment with little to no learning curve. You know, the very thing a video game should be doing which is providing entertainment. You'd be better off making the argument of taking older titles like WoW and League of Legends and comparing them to how gay they are now days because you are then just taking the same game as back then and comparing it to now which is progressively more gay as your videos title shows. Video games are for everyone, period. They are entertainment for people to experience as a solo player or in a group/party setting like one you mentioned in this video. What I, and many others hate is how they are coming with forced political and social messages instead of focusing on being an outlet of entertainment. Also one last point. There were a LOT of games back then that were just awful even with them being some masculine badass type of game. The ones that did well have mostly lived on to see expansions like GTA you mentioned. So yeah, I'd just suggest instead of comparing previous 20 year old titles in the category of T-M compared to E-T(M) to just comparing itself to previous versions/generations.
I mean, Katamari has always been weird because is a japanese game made for japanese audience and it's a beloved saga to the point that is relevant to this day. Katamari has always been colorful, but colorful doesn't always mean gay. The problem with services like Gamepass is that microsoft puts all kind of cheap, crappy games to fill the catalog of games, just like Netflix. Now it is for the moden audienace, handholding, dumbing down of everything. world building, is for the most part no there, dialog, story, companons, does not matter and is poorly writen. Also no attractive female characters. So good looking graphics means jack squat unless the rest of the content in the game is any good. Sometimes the moden game devs fail at both. Bad graphics and full of bugs, piss poor dialog, story, world building.

I am a 45-year-old man and remember playing the original translated ROM on my PC. Although I believe in most things you say about games becoming more woke, the original "Trials of Mana" is probably older than you and definitely wasn't a woke SNES game. I do think there are some activists going on right now that are trying to bring the game industry down, but Katamari Damacy is a game that came out in 2004 and its suppose to be fruitful and has wacky Japanese sense of humor. It's really hard to agree with you in this one. Katamari has a huge fanbase and it isn't gay at all, theres is no Dei injected into it. There is definitely room for obscure indie games with cartoonish artstyles that are fun and goofy (as long as DEI is not inserted into it). What would help is if they came out with new badass masculine games as well as these games. Also nothing wrong with not liking the anime artstyle or jrps like Trials of Mana but don't call it gay, they tell amazing stories with masculine and feminine good looking characters. You are aware that We Love Katamari came out in 2005 right? Trials of Mana came out in 1995 as a Japan only game? Neither game has left wing propaganda in it and Katamari in particular is a respected series, even has an exhibit. I do love stuff like DOOM and Quake, revolutionary games in the FPS genre, but sometimes, I like games with a bit more color and a lighthearted premise that are equally as revolutionary in other ways. Just to fact check you another time, We Love Katamari's remaster came out in June 2023! Trials of Mana's remake came out in April 2020. None of these games you listed in this video are gay. 2 are crappy indie games and 2 are Japanese AA games. You should compare modern AAA to AAA 20 years ago. The major problem is AAA games cost too much and spent too long developing a single game. Compared to 20 years ago when they were shooting out a ton of games each month. Marketing for AAA also shifted from teenage and young adult men 20 years ago to pandering to everyone. Marketers and executives want more players even if it radically changes the look and feel of the original product. Look at the rise and success of asian gacha games. The gameplay for most gacha games are crap but they know their audience is majority male and pander heavily to the male gaze.
The issue isn't that games are expensive. The problem is that people are refusing to buy or play expensive games that feature woke agendas and these games have high production costs because companies decide to heavily invest in them. As a result, costly titles like Concord and Dustborn struggle to sell, causing these companies to lose money.
Space marine 2 is expensive but it succeeded since the story and gameplay is great and the game isn’t woke.

As a kid I wasn't allowed to hang out with kids from a different religion, my parents were nuts...and I have to say that with the way modern society feels, where we get branded and labeled over who we politically support, it feels eerily similar to my childhood.
You lost me with Katamari and Trials. The first one is a comedy masterpiece and the rainbows were there before being hijacked by the alphabet crowd. The original story is that the King got drunk and destroyed the moon and stars, after which he ordered you (his son) to fix it all. He's quite abusive and a funny character to boot. Saying that this is somehow 'gay' and for children or whatnot would be the same as calling Monty Python that. On the flipside, the written description read in the video does sound exceptionally lame.

I find that I get so bored gaming now, because there is no struggle. But then when I play a game that has a struggle it feels a bit foreign and I I have to revert my mind into thinking, "No, this is how games are meant to be." The instant dopamine hit style games really took away the fun of solving complex problems and working hard to get better.
For the people that say this guy is blinded by nostalgia you're wrong. I never grew up with these games but playing them recently they're alot better then the shit out now. Only sucky part is some of the graphics are outdated and it's hard to play them without emulation.

This is probably one of the first videos I disagree with. You also have to take in consideration the volume of games being released now due to the investors and fans that have moved into the video game design market compared to back then. There is a free market and a mass increase of genres within video games industry. You cannot make a single game and have it appeal to every single gamer out there. You are also comparing a lot of more T-M rated games set in the First/Third person mature shooter to puzzle games like even Katamari. That game there was innovative for its time back then and filled the need for just plain entertainment with little to no learning curve. You know, the very thing a video game should be doing which is providing entertainment.
You'd be better off making the argument of taking older titles like WoW and League of Legends and comparing them to how gay they are now days because you are then just taking the same game as back then and comparing it to now which is progressively more gay as your videos title shows. Video games are for everyone, period. They are entertainment for people to experience as a solo player or in a group/party setting like one you mentioned in this video. What I, and many others hate is how they are coming with forced political and social messages instead of focusing on being an outlet of entertainment.
Also one last point. There were a LOT of games back then that were just awful even with them being some masculine badass type of game. The ones that did well have mostly lived on to see expansions like GTA you mentioned. So yeah, I'd just suggest instead of comparing previous 20 year old titles in the category of T-M compared to E-T(M) to just comparing itself to previous versions/generations.
I mean, Katamari has always been weird because is a japanese game made for japanese audience and it's a beloved saga to the point that is relevant to this day. Katamari has always been colorful, but colorful doesn't always mean gay.
The problem with services like Gamepass is that microsoft puts all kind of cheap, crappy games to fill the catalog of games, just like Netflix. Sadly the main focus of microsoft in no longer making big, awesome AAA games.
