Actual fact about McCormick Field In the late 50's it hosted stock car racing and in 58 hosted a Nascar Grand National series (now the Cup Series) race
One of my personal favorites that wasnt mentioned is Fluor Field in Greenville SC. The dimensions are a replica of fenway and you can sit on their slightly shorter green monster, which is really cool for a minor league park.
I went to a few games in 2000s all over Pennsylvania. ALTOONA, ERIE, SCRANTON, HARRISBURG, LANCASTER, YORK, READING AND ALLENTOWN. All classic ballparks. Minor League Hockey in PA isn't bad either. READING ROYALS, HERSHEY BEARS, W-B/S PENGUINS, AND LEHIGH VALLY PHANTOMS.
@jeremylando40 it's important to remember that Hershey and Reading are not the same level of hockey and can not be compared to each other. I have been to 7 or 8 ECHL arenas so far, plan to eventually visit all of them. But so far out of the 7 or 8, Reading is the 3rd best
@@derekweaver6384 that’s a low bar maybe I’m just jaded by being local but the team is run like a circus and it’s honestly a chore going to games anymore and they are jacking up prices again
@@jeremylando40 I'm local too. Hell I'm a Royals Season Ticket Holder. As bad as you think the Royals organization is, it's no where close to as bad as others
Look at Flour Field home of the Boston Red Sox affiliate Greenville Drive. It has the minor-league big green monster in left field and “Shoeless” Joe Jackson’s home that he lived and died in on the first base side just outside the park.
Nat Bailey Stadium in Vancouver BC is a hidden gem. Great setting at Queen Elizabeth Park, beautiful site lines especially on a summer evening. The Canadians set attendance records every year
Fresno has a great park for the Fresno Grizzlies which is single A now, and the Sacramento River Cats has nice views especially with the river and the tower bridge.
I grew up going to AutoZone Park in Memphis a few times a year, man it’s such an incredible ballpark. I moved half a decade ago but I can’t wait to visit back and see a game
As a Utahn, I grew up watching baseball at Smith's Ballpark (though it has gone by many names through the years). This is even where the then SLC Trappers had a 29 game winning streak in 1987. That is still the longest streak in baseball! Sadly, the Bees are moving elsewhere in the valley within a year or two, leaving the ballpark empty. We dont really know what will happen to it, but many locals (especially long-term residents) want to repurpose the structure just to maintain some of that history.
My parents took me to some Trappers games. At that time it was known as Derek’s field. Baseball has been played there for over 100 years. They do have plans for it. It looks like at least a partial tear down and used for women’s sports only. It’s really sad!
I went to a lot of Trappers games at Derks Field as a kid. Somewhere around here is my hat with the 29 on it. I'm bummed about the Bees' move from Smith's Ballpark.
Smith's Ball Park is not one of the newest and didn't open in 1994 like it says in the video. It opened in 1927 and reopened in 1947 after a 1946 fire. 1994 is when it was renamed as Smith's
@@savagefund7706 It was actually totally demolished in the early nineties and was built new and opened in 1994 as Franklinquest field. Smith’s bought the naming rights in the 2010’s.
I live in San Antonio. When are the Missions going to build a stadium, and join the big boys? .... Or will we lose another team, which is a San Antonio tradition. Great video.
Love this! I am European and try to visit the US every year. I ALWAYS make sure to visit a minor league game. Most recent: Lakeland Flying Tigers in Lakeland, FL and Palm Beach Cardinals in Jupiter, FL. Also visited the Binghamton Rumble Ponies last year (NY state).
Going to watch the Omaha Cardinals play at Rosenblatt Stadium with my dad is a great memory. It was also home to the College World Series until it was torn down a number of years ago. Part of the bleacher seating was moved to the baseball field at my high school in Council Bluffs Iowa, allowing the stadium to live on, in a way. Now, as an Albuquerque resident, it was great to see the Isotope’s park make your list. The views of the Sandia and Manzano mountains are the perfect backdrop for watching a ball game. It was home to the Albuquerque Dukes(LA Dodgers AAA) before and the ‘Topes (Rockies)now. Between Omaha and Albuquerque I’ve been blessed to see many great players both playing in the CWS and working up through the minors. Thanks for the video!!
Tulsa Stadium pronounced One-Oak, haha. Surprised OKC not there for the Micky Mantle and Johnny Bench statues and downtown location, but it faces away from the skyline and was overbuilt, last time I was there much of the upper deck seats were covered in tarps.
Great video man. You put together a good bucket list of parks here. Some I’ve been too but not enough. The problem is I still work full time so it will have to wait until I retire and I can do a summer road trip ballpark tour.
Southwest University Park is an awesome stadium it’s a fantastic place to watch a baseball game. The backdrop was much better when you could see the Franklin Mountains but now they have built a bunch of hotels blocking the view! 17:33
As a Louisville resident, I really appreciate your summary of Louisville Slugger Field. You covered its strengths as a ballpark well. I have often glanced at the action there while riding home from my job across the River in… ahem… Indiana, not Illinois. Other than that goof, that was a fine look at our stadium.
Slugger Field in Louisville is a terrific place to watch a game Just knowing the bats that they’re using for the game are made 5 minutes down the road is awesome
So glad that my hometown ballpark Baseballtown (Reading, PA) made the list. There’s so much history in that ballpark it’s a must visit if you’re a baseball fan.
Pnc field home of the Scranton railriders, the view of the mountains in the background is nice. That, and for a AA stadium Hartford really had nice one as well. Very open concept.
Also been to many a game in Little Rock. Got to see Trout play a few games years back when I was visiting family. It was wild. It’s such a great ballpark too for potentially meeting players with the way the locker rooms are set up from the field.
I live in Sandy, Utah, so I go to Smiths Ballpark a lot of times, to watch a lot of Salt Lake Bees Baseball Games. You should do a review of Lindquest Field, in Ogden, Utah, home of The Ogden Raptors Baseball Team.
Need to check out Canal Park, home of the Akron Rubberducks. A nice downtown park. Doesn't have the city views of some of the others but it sets up well to take in a game
I would definitely recommend attending a Cyclones game if visiting NYC. Tickets are affordable and the stadium is set a stones throw from the beach... nice ocean breeze during the summer. There's plenty to do before or after the game in the surrounding area, especially if you have children. Several subway lines will get you to Coney Island that run 24 hours. If you're staying in Manhattan about 45-60 min train ride depending on your location.
I also would recommen taking a free ride on the Staten Island ferry and going to a Staten Island Ferry Hawk game. They play in the independent Atlantic league. The stadium has stunning views of New York Harbor and lower Manhattan.
I was surprised to see old Nat Bailey Stadium on your list. Spent a year in Vancouver in 1999 when they were a AAA team… seen 20 games that year. I’m including the PCL championship.

I love that Asheville park. I saw a game there once, with great seats behind home plate. I did feel sorry for those teen-age players from Latin America (the Tourists were an Astros Class A team), deep in the mountains of NC.
Grew up going to the Lake Elsinore Diamond, home of the Lake Elsinore Storm, A affiliate of the San Diego Padres. It’s a nice little stadium, definitely has a sort of Major League feel to it despite being quite small.
Thanks for adding modern woodman. Visited the place twice. I love ballparks that offer river bombs. The ammentities are top notch for developmental baseball. Feels like an sec ballpark tbh.
If you go to a Senators game in Harrisburg, PA, be prepared for the rain of mayflies. You get used to it if you're not in a covered seat but it's kind of a shock the first time.
Four Winds Field in south bend indiana is a kinda cool venue to take in a game and has some good food options and attempts to give a bigger city feel or wrigleyville feel to the stadium.
