- Manx Mountain Marathon, Isle of Man, 50th anniversary 50k and half marathon fell races (16 May 2022), organised by the Manx Fell Runners. The hill tops of North Barrule and Snaefell were misty but by the end down through Fleshwick Bay and across Barra Head it was bloomin' glorious. You wouldn't want the whole race in full sun or you'd never go home! ;)
It was with great pleasure that I filmed this awesome event; I ran the 50k (2,600m ascent, 800m for the half marathon) in Sept 2013 and loved the Isle of Man so much that I went back to run the 100 mile Raad ny Foillan coastal path in 2019 (scroll down for link to this playlist).
This year I did not run as I had baby Finley Jay Hall 19 Jan 2021 so I'm still only running about 10k atm with feeling knackered and being back at work. So a very many thanks go to Chris Kirk for ably running the whole 50k course with the GoPro, super navigator and time keeper Chris Gledhill for driving me round the course so I could leap out and film bits, and Chris Gulland for the awesome drone footage. Yes, it seems I only work with people called Chris...
Finally a huge thanks to Scran the band whose wonderful traditional Manx music you hear, courtesy of Culture Vannin. Listen to their whole album here culturevannin.im/watchlisten/...

I hope to go back in 2023, a decade after my first run of the 50k event and see if I can beat my 2013 time... Enter the 2023 event here www.manxmountainmarathon.com/

Brilliant video...and another race I now want to add to my list 😂
What a great event!! Loved the whole vid, perfect music choices too 👍
Super video, you can’t beat a mad trail marathon! Well done x
The trail runnin leads us to raise the spirit to higher levels, we know the true value of connecting with the Mountain, demonstrating the Power of the Mind, demonstrating that there are no limits.
Great video for a great race Claire. And I was privileged to be a part of both. Hope to see you back next year.....with a number on :)
Good vid, captures the spirit of the event very well.
Thankyou for posting, this was my first Mountain Marathon 40 years ago, so many happy memories.
Well done on the race video! Seems like a great event with a very useful medal at the end.
Looks tough but gorgeous scenery. Going to put on my bucket list.
Very well put together video. And an excellent looking event. Well done to everyone 👍
Hope you’re having fun at the camp. Wish I could have made it!
Thanks for posting. Hope someday will try there..such a lovely scenic view to capture. Will put in my bucket list trail running like this.
Fascinating race and great video. I thought about it a few years ago, but it seemed frightfully difficult to get over to the IoM from Northern Ireland for a weekend at that time of year.
Looks amazing this does
Congratulations on a fantastic video montage. Colin Donnelly recommended this race to me many years ago and now I can see why! I arrived a day too late for the race but managed to check out some of the course. Maybe someone could tell me what percentage of it is navigational? I was blessed with superb weather from Monday to Friday but see the conditions weren’t so good for the race. On the back of this video I will definitely put it on my to do list especially as I’ll just have turned 60! The organisation looks impeccable and everyone so friendly. But hey this is hill running so just what you would expect
