Hi Penn, thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge and experience with us! I learn so much from you. I have a queston reg. Biologique Recherche Lotion P50V 1970. Twice a day I wash my face with a facewash which contains 15% glycolic acid ("Foamer 15" from Dermaceutic. Ingredients: Aqua, Glycolic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Glycerin, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Polysorbate 80, Propylene Glycol, Methylpropanediol, Glycyrrhetinic Acid, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Cocamidopropyl Betainamide Mea Chloride, Cocamidoppropyl Dimethylamine, Potassium). I'm 46 years old. In the morning I apply further Vit. C+E+Ferulic acid serum from from Timeless, bakuchiol serum, moisturizer and sun screen. In the evening I apply 0.1% tretinoin creme, resveratrol+ferulic serum from Ordinary and moisturizing face cream. Can I apply Biologique Recherche Lotion P50V after my 15% glycolic acid facewash in my AM and PM routine? Which products BR Lotion P50V cannot be combined with? btw: I love your t-shirt. This lovely pink color suits you very well.
I loved this so much! I will be 80 next month, was a sun worshipper for YEARS. I never heard of retinol until lockdown and out of boredom started watching you tube. WOW! Was I in for a rude awakening! I am very fair, blonde (now white lol). Sun and age spots abound. I started with my face and will move to décolleté and arms as soon as face is acceptable. I have some stubborn spots along my jaw, that are just not going anywhere. I started with Curology until I found the Ordinary. Currently on 0.1 % Tret, Timeless Vit C, Alpha Arbutin, Matrixyl, Dermelect Sleep Serum, AHA,PHA toner, Korean essence, Drmtlgy Tinted Sunscreen and their Dream Cream, and whatever I happen to use for moisturizer. Whew…surely I left something out! When I can afford, I will definitely take some of your suggestions starting with a pigment inhibitor! Thank you very much for your time and education. You are the greatest!
I had actually never heard of retinol until I started watching RUclips a few years ago. I’m 47 😂 not sure how I missed it. Had definitely been going to the medspa for Botox, peels and facials since my late 20s- but medspa isn’t a doctor and so they only really tell you fru fru products that they sell (typically).
Thank you for the great suggestions! As someone who has had breast cancer and 51 years old, I can’t take any estrogen (actually have to block it) and am looking for different ways to help my skin and feel good about it again!! Love your videos! ❤
The P5 lotion 1970 lotion has been on my radar for years. I just never pulled the trigger but so many people swear by it. I’m very tempted. I think maybe I’ll ask for it for my birthday. Whatever you’re doing Penny it looks fantastic. I really wish I had started my skincare journey a little bit earlier, but I definitely see the results of taking the time to care it’s one of the most rewarding investments we can do for ourselves. I have both the TirTir serum and the CosRX peptide toner on standby. I wanted to mention that Nurium has a really nice BHA liquid exfoliate 2%. I like it better than the iconic Paula’s choice, which I use for many years, because it’s gentler-at least for my skin.
Cosrx Ulta moisturizing lotion has birch sap. My husband and I both love and use daily. I have normal skin. He is oily and acne prone and he has no issues using it and loves it.
I have a day and night routine, but you have several more steps than I could tolerate. I do red-light therapy, vitamin C, a peptide serum, pigment inhibitor, moisturizer and sunscreen in the a.m., and pigment inhibitor, tretinoin, estriol facial cream, and moisturizer in the p.m. I am 61, but told I look 40. The biggest improvements have been from the red-light (I use a Hooga panel, which has been far more effective than my Omnilux mask), and the Estriol cream. Thanks for your videos-
I do have a lot of steps. Honestly I could add 5 more and be happy….some people like knitting, buying shoes, puzzles (ok I like those too) but I love skincare lol Your routine sounds PERFECT!
@@tamikops The estriol creams typically contain some moisturizing ingredients so using them after tretinoin works well. They are not contraindicated and for most individuals there is no irritation from estriol.
I am not using growth factors right now- for no reason at all actually. I love the ultimate serum but I decided to redo my routine and left it out this go-round. It is still my favorite GF product- for multiple reasons (affordability, formulation etc) 💙
LOVE your videos so much - I’ve learned so much from you! I would love a video showing products you’d recommend to people in their 30s. I sometimes get a little overwhelmed and purchase way too many products so a suggested am/pm routine would be soo helpful!
Didn’t know you were from Irish decent Penny. Watching from Ireland 🇮🇪 Love your content. You give so much good advice. Will try those products you recommend, as I suffer from the same issues. Thank you so much for all you do. Sending love and good wishes your way x
❤👍😍 Thanks for the video! Cleanse the skin, then use the devices (LED &/or Ziip). Thinest to thickest, then SPF. That's what I have learned from you quite awhile ago now and continue to try to do this. It's always good to have a review though. ❤
Oh no….the one with the skincare and European sunscreens!! I’m all ears for its return. Been there done this….with the European stuff in it. I got it back intact delivered to my door! Let’s hope you do too!👏👏👏
🌞 For my morning care routine I tend to line up all the products I want to use that morning and go for it. Around my eye area needs to have the extra TLC. If I am in a rush I will use just a moisturer and SPF, but I still do all my layers around my under eye area...but it's such a tiny amount and I can do it all pretty quick. 💞
Emily, I do look different than 4 years ago. I did have a face and neck lift and upper bleph, there’s an entire video on it here on this channel. I have not touched my nose and did not have buccal fat pad removal. I never tell people to buy SKIN products to get a chiseled nose or cheeks … i share all the things I do. The recovery, the process, the results. This time, I lost weight. A decent amount of weight. Yep, it changed my face. If it was surgery I would say so. I’m not ashamed of surgery, I think it’s just another tool in the toolkit. So even though you think you’re being smart, you are really just being a jerk.
You are looking ah-mazing! I mean youve always looked amazing but 😲! When we took our 26-day European adventure I took 4 months to learn how to travel with a carry-on and backpack only so we wouldn't run into the airline losing our luggage. In the past, I've had that happen twice! Total nighmare. Now, I will always travel with a carry-on. But that definitely doesn't work when you want to buy a lot. 😊 You've got some great finds in here, as always! Thank you Penn! ❤🙏
My issue with carry on is my skincare! I can’t seem to get it down to just a couple things….i love doing skincare on trips. Its like heaven to be in a hotel doing my routine lol But im weird 😂
The boom boom milk is a bit high in price for me. I am willing to pay for some items but around Lab has many birch products and am wondering if they are a worthy dupe. I’m going to pull the trigger on the toner and Fade bright. Have just went down the rabbit hole of peeps from Platunum and all things K-Beauty. Love your videos!! And I’m buying rwviv next once I use up my current GF product. Which is Calecim and I have really like it but Reviv is less than half the cost.
I have been using the May Coop Raw Sauce for about 8 years, and it is 80% sugar maple sap. It's very hydrating and light weight, and my skin just loves it!
@PENNSMITHSKINCARE I feel like it's nothing mind blowing but the hydration factor is top notch...but there's no shine or greasiness about it.... just plump and smooth skin.
I bought some of the Tirtir SOS Serum. I have tried it multiple times on my face and neck and within a couple hours of putting it on, I look like I fell in a vat of butter. I'm going to try using it on my arms and other places I think need hydration and see if I can wear it like that. I do want to share that I bought some of Dr. Brenner Triple Lipid Restore and have been using that as the final step in my PM routine and I am totally loving it.
Thank you so much for the variety of products with affordable options. Much appreciated! You have a wealth of knowledge. :) Thank you! Have a great day!❤️
Have you tried an estriol face cream? I follow Dr. Haver and use the same. But I’m not really sure how to include it in my skin routine. I’m also having some acne around my chin and mouth, seems hormonal, though could be a Paula’s Choice sunscreen I bought, need to do a process of elimination. I’m wondering if estriol cream can cause acne, what I can combine it with and when to best use it? Another question no one seems to be able to answer, without a wink and a nod, is can we use v-cream (estradiol) cream on the face skin? We can use it on our v-skin but obviously that is different. It’s stronger than estriol but is the vehicle (ingredients) that the estradiol is mixed in, pore clogging?
From my understanding the estriol creams can be absorbed through your facial skin whereas the estradiol is uterine absorbed. Which would mean no it would do you no good on your face.
I know you will get heaps of questions on routine- But I’ve asked around on helping my AM routine, and still lost. If you can help : Skin type: Combo, hormonal acne prone skin, not sensitive to acids though. Very pale with freckles, over 40. Products I use mostly: Some days a might toner like Tirtir light. I do acids lactic and salicylic in dropper bottles Vitamin c Nicinamide with zinc A multi-peptide serum (current one without copper, but next one will have this added I think) Moisteriser/ sunscreen Love your help with knowing where the vitamin c and nicinamide can go in here along with toner if that’s before of after acids? Thanks
when we use so many products and devices and things -- how do we ever know which item is working well? or which is not ideal? I'm kinda lost with choosing everything!
Hey Penny, I was wondering why you stopped using the DRMTLGY Needless Serum, & switched to the COSRX instead? I bought & have an auto ship for the Needless serum based on your high recommendation, so just wanted to know what made you switch. Also, besides me using the needless serum, I also have several bottles I bought (on sale) of the Biossance Copper peptide serum, & was wondering if I can use that layered along with the Needless Serum, or is that overkill? And if overkill, what kind of schedule do you recommend that I should do as far as alternating them? Thanks Penny.
I love how honest you are and how you take care of affordable skincare too, but one question - do led lights help with hyper pigmentation and would that smaller device help with that (I saw a discount on UFO)? Thank you!!
The sad truth is LED can improve hyperpigmentation or make it worse….and it’s hard to know which until you try it. I think if it’s *at all possible* get an in-office led treatment and assess your skin before investing in a mask or panel… that will help answer that question for you 💙
Great video!, do you think the Platinum Face Bright helps to fade existing brown spots, or does it work more as a preventative product? If you haven't tried the Dr. Ceuracle Kombucha tea essence, it's incredible. So moisturizing. If I put a few layers and sit with saran wrap over your face for 20 minutes, you skin will feel incredible. Always looking to try new products, but I missed this so much I re-ordered it. I think you'd love it.
Yes the fade bright will help fade existing BUT (in my opinion) it needs the help of retinoids (to expedite turn over and also suppress melanin) and acids to lift off surface pigment. That three prong approach will fade existing spots 💙💙 I LOVE the Dr Ceuracle essence!! I went through an entire bottle and then got side tracked (for a couple years!!). I will have to order another bottle when I get through some of this good stuff 😅 Thanks for the reminder!
So the top 5-6 inches is just my natural color- I haven’t colored it in almost a year. The extensions are pre-colored mix to match the mix of my hair. The extensions are by the brand Habit- they are hand tied and sewn in 2 rows. I don’t have a ton of hair in, but enough to boost my wimpy hair lol Thank you for your kindness 💙
I am an avid follower, usually behind the scenes. As a side note, I love your hair just below shoulder length. It brings the eye up to your incredible eyes. Thank you for sharing, guiding and leading the way! You seem to grow more beautiful. It is so motivating. I have a burning question I wasn't sure where to ask. As a fan of Reviv Ultimate Serum, do you use it immediately after medical needling? I ask because it has other ingredients, such as peptides. ??
So the technical answer is NO for right after microneeding. Have I used it personally right after? YES. But it’s important to know the risks of using anything other than hyaluronic acid immediately after (namely granulomas). That said, obviously there are massive potential benefits of getting those great ingredients in to the skin. You just have to weigh the potential risks for yourself 💙
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE So you should micro needle on dry skin w/out ANY "slip"? And then put the hyaluronic acid on afterwards? And if you want to use a Growth serum, then how long should you wait to apply that )after micro needling/hyaluronic acid)? Thanks Penny.
I’m a New viewer & absolutely love your routine. Very similar to mine but I’ve never explored DNA repair. Super interesting. Turning 47 this month & need all the help I can get!
Hi Pen, I am watching your videos on and off and you look amazing and definitely much more younger than your age (10 years at least).🙂 To be such a diligent person with the way you take care of your skin it’s a huge commitment and I really admire your dedication and determination. I love skincare (that’s why I am here 😁) and I am trying hard to not skip morning and evening routine but it’s not easy. Recently I started to use copper tripeptide and ectoin serum (Allies of Skin) and I love it. They have a growth factor serum which is very good as well (I don’t know the source of growth factor). Also I use Lotion P50 (phenol free because only this one is available in Australia) and the chemical exfoliant from Drunk Elephant (AHA/BHA serum) - I rotate them. I use all of them because I don’t tolerate retinol. Do you think I need both serums (copper tripeptide and growth factor) or they do the same thing? Thanks for sharing invaluable information for people who are willing to learn!💕
Hi! Thank you for this! I'm super light, too, and have been battling hyperpigmentation for years! Where in this routine would i use alpha beta peels? (These are the only things i have used where i have actually seen improvement in my skin, and i love them!)
Well, I like to use my AHA toner in the morning (tret/retinoid at night). I feel like it’s better to not stack actives (irritation wise). Some people love to combine them (layer them) but I feel like that’s asking for irritation and barrier issues 🤷♀️
Thank you for always putting out the most amazing, helpful videos. I've tried so many of the products that you've suggested and loved them all. Can I ask where you got your sweater? Such a great color on you.
Thank you so much! So this is Bloomingdale’s core line of cashmere- I bought it a couple years ago when they had their anniversary sale (they mark their core line down like 50%!!) I’ll see if they still sell them- they are so light that I can wear in the middle of summer or in the winter. 😍
Thank you Penn! As always, great info! Do you have any mineral SPF recommendations? I will not use chemical SPF and always on a lookout for good physical SPF recommendations. Thank you!
Excited for the fall peels with you! I'm doing mandelic on my face now but will switch to TCA this winter. 😊 I'm interested in the Prequel brand. Any vitamin C you use? I'm using Regenerate from Platinum in the evening. Is it better to use in a.m. or good to use in p.m. It's a growth factor. How is that different from DNA repair?
I appreciate your channel so much. Thank you. I have one question. I work out in the mornings, too. I apply all of my skincare products before a workout, but I'm curious whether sweating diminishes the effectiveness of the products. On the other hand, if I work out before I apply all of my skincare and sunscreen, I am concerned that I am exposing my skin to sun damage; even though I work out at home, light is coming through the windows. I can just put on sunscreen, work out, and then wash off the sunscreen and do all the work all over again, but multiple washings strip my skin out. I have very fair skin and rosacea, which worsens after a workout. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. ❤
Let me look! You’d be surprised though- I use a blob (that’s a technical term fyi) like 1/3 the size of a golf ball every day and it goes a long way. But I will search….its pretty unique product although I’ve never tried to find an alternative so there may be one! 💙
When I first found you sometime in late 2023 I spent over $2200.00 the Ziip the Omni Lux and dozens of products. Some I love and still use some were thrown out after a few tries. I however have learned that you sell what making you happy for what ever reason. It didn’t break my budget I still follow you diligently and bought a few things you recommended from the late Amazon sale. I am liking what I purchased so far and highly recommend you and sent several friends to your Videos. However I don’t believe the average woman or man has the amount of cash or time for all of these products , perhaps you could post a video for those less fortunate like my young niece’s or their friends, or a couple of my friends who think you’re so beautiful and want the same look. I appreciate your investigative strategies on products this is why I try them. Thank you and I hope you understand what I mean.
I do understand what you mean 💙 I do videos on budget skincare too, maybe you’ve missed those. I’ve never really talked about omnilux so maybe you are thinking of someone else on that one. I LOVE ziip, I use it regularly for years now. Would it help if I linked you to some of the budget skincare videos? I also have a playlist on affordable alternatives so that people can see that there are valuable products at all price points. 😊
Have you ever watched Dr. Dray? She is a dermatologist and goes to stores and read the ingredient list and tells the viewers if the product is good or not and why it's good or bad.
Dont just toss ur products that ur not happy with on your face try them on your body skin before you decide to trash them . That's what I learned to do and found a lot I really liked on the body and their for it wasn't wasted and some I even repurchased just for the purpose of body . How do you like the Zipp? Im really thinking about purchasing it, I have been doing some research and watching other people's videos on it as well .
@@heathersargent289I agree- don’t toss them! Consistently is key to all of them. Find a routine (I recommend a schedule on paper or digitally) and continue using them regularly. There’s no magical device or ointment, especially if not used consistently, but all of these things do work together to slow down the appearance of aging. I also have spent above my means on various devices, but I budget for them. And I remember that the time will be passing whether or not I use these devices. Anything I do to slow its appearance is a win.
@@heathersargent289The ZIIP really does make your skin look amazing! I have had it for a few years now. I used it sporadically at first but once I started using it a few times a week, my skin looks so much better! I use red light and do micro needling as well. Recently I got an IPL treatment. The number of spots it removed was incredible! I can’t wait to go for more. I also love ematrix treatments. Two or three a year to build up your collagen. But always follow Penny! I have learned so much from her!! ❤
Great routine. I also collect hyperpigmentation (unfortunately) and never tired Cysteamine but now I’m intrigued. What your thoughts on Solawave wands? I also love P50 and love to see R&R Day Serum in the mix 🤍
Do you know anything about the medicube pro? Supposed to be 6 in 1 device. I’m to get a treatment this coming Saturday. Also lexli line. It’s ale Vera based Thanks so much for the video
Would you do a zoom consultation? I’d really love to pay you to customize a routine specifically for me. I kind of buy almost everything you recommend 😂- but maybe some of it’s not necessary.
Hi Penn, thanks for sharing some great tips! 😊 Round Lab also has a product range which contains Birch Juice. They have birch juice cream, serum and toner pad.
Penn, is the pigment inhibitor needed if I’m already doing tretinoin? Is there added benefit? I do tretinoin twice a week at night and use exfoliating acids the other nights with one free night of no actives to prevent irritation
Penn, as always, you deliver a plethora of helpful information in such a graceful way! I'm going to invest in some DNA repair products, and I appreciate the discounts available. One question: Would you do a travel video for us? Obviously, we all have different versions of skincare, but it would be helpful to know what containers you travel with. What you carry on vs pack. I know you have said in the past that you travel with your ZIPP and your Higher Dose mask. Do you have their PEMF mat? If so do you travel with that? Thanks again!! 😘
I do have the PEMF go (smaller version) but no, I don’t take it on trips (I’ve thought of it….but I think ultimately I wouldn’t use it as much as I think I would and I’d be carting around lol). Some of my travel containers are most unsexy….like little Tupperware for my body cream 😂 I’m getting ready to go on a trip, I’ll record what I pack etc! 💙
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE Penn FYI Re the Higher Dose PEMF Mats: Usage: The product should only be used in the country where it was purchased and shipped. Usage outside those geographical locations voids any warranty and can cause severe damage to the product. HigherDOSE will not be responsible for any damages incurred because of this.
Unlike skin “bleaching” creams pigment inhibitors just control excess melanin. Do I understand exactly how? No, not really but I do know that the list of actives I use do not lighten overall pigment but rather excess pigment 💙 I’ll see if I can find out WHY (maybe I’ll get a chemist on?!)
18:18 Hi Penn. Given all your skin concerns which are similar to mine, would you say that a DNA Repair serum is better suited in your routine compared to a Growth Factor Serum?
hi there. love your videos. jyst wondering if you have ever heard of not mixing creatine with caffeine? most influencers i watch combine them, but my brand says not ti right on the package. thanks
They work very differently. Pigment inhibitors interrupt the melanin process so that there is not excess pigment coming up with cells. DNA repair enzymes FIX old damage (on DNA strands) and also damage as it occurs. This helps to avoid hyperpigmentation simply because sun damage often results in overproduction of melanin. DNA repair enzymes are going to help with collagen and elastin break down as well by fixing that damage. Neither one is going to be 100%….skincare is a multi prong approach in my opinion 😍
Bummer on the luggage, Penny! I do have a question. I bought the Cosrx peptide serum you mentioned and I think I remember you saying not to use it with AHAs. I use the Olay super serum which does have a small amount of AHA in it. Should I alternate using them? Thanks! (I find layering challenging lol . . . I want all the things.)
I think you’re fine. My issue was hydrolysis. That is when the lower PH of acids breaks up peptides in to their amino acids. Frankly the amino acids are still great but obviously we aren’t wanting to ruin the peptides we are putting on the skin. Recently I’ve talked with at least 3 formulators (one who is a doctor) who say that really we don’t need to worry about that on our skin unless we are using like a peel then peptides (which none of us are….and even then we would just wait a couple minutes and we could put peptides on after the peel neutralized….but I digress). All that to say, you are totally fine with your layering! How do you like that Olay serum? 😍
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE Thanks for the explanation! I knew you would have researched the issue. I LOVE the Olay super serum. It feels elegant and gives me a slight glow. It has several great ingredients besides the Vitamin C, like niacinamide. All best!
I just got the Photozyme DNA repair. I noticed you put it on late in your different applications. Do you worry that maybe it won't get through the other layers of product you have on?
I don’t personally worry about that bc everything else is relatively thin. I do sometimes use it in my serum step (after my mist) bc it’s so watery (even though it looks like a lotion, it’s quite thin itself).
Enjoyed this since I'm turning 50 next year! I'm so confused about using vit C serum (cosrx) and copper peptides (blue peach&lily) together. I've read both don't and it's fine. What is your take? I use retinol for pm. Thanks Pen!
So I used to believe that vitamin C (in the form of l-ascorbic acid) was incompatible with copper peptides. I really repeated the party line from other skin experts, brands etc. In the last couple of years I started really listening to the *chemists* …..they know the real deal! If you look up the chemist (and creator/formulator) “Kind of Stephen” on Instagram he shares why vitamin C and copper peptides are actually ok together on the skin. As soon as I learned that…..I changed my tune and no longer repeat the inaccurate info that they need to be separate 💙💙
What do you recommend for me. My skin has become sensitive to all acids! Retinoic acid (Tretinoin), alpha hydroxy acids, l-ascorbic acid, THD, and also hydroquinone. Should I go for peptides instead?
You could look in to bakuchiol and also you could try polyhydroxy acids (obviously patch testing). Beyond that, yes, peptides are a great option for “actives” that are typically non-sensitizing 💙
Are you trying to clear excess pigment or prevent it? If preventing then I’d say the LAA 20% is great, and is enough on its own. If you are trying to clear existing pigment then I’d add a pigment inhibitor (in this case Fade Bright is an excellent option). 💙
I’m 61 and just started watching your RUclips videos recently. I also have the Irish/Scottish skin. Do you think the DNA repair serums would still work for me?
Sorry if you already answered this, but is there a reason you use your DNA repair product in the AM rather than PM? Thanks for posting this and I'm looking forward to your PM routine also. Ordering of products is always confusing for me!
I use it in the PM too 💙💙💙 Part of the reason I use it in the AM is that one of the DNA repair enzymes is activated by sunlight. It’s perfect for use during the day. At night it’s perfect bc we do so much repair overnight and our skin is more permeable while we sleep 💙
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE Thanks! I use Photozyme at night occasionally but not often enough based on your routine. I've been on the GF train more than DNA repair but I need to incorporate both.
Hi! I've read through all the questions/answers and still feel the need to ask: Copper peptides, growth serums, dna recovery---can they be used together or should i balance them between day and night?
I love that you read through! Thank you!! Ok so I do balance those things between day and night. I like to do copper peptides at night and I do DNA repair at night (and in the AM). The reason for that is a lot of repair happens over night so we want to take advantage of the opportunity. The particular DNA repair product I use also has an enzyme activated by light, so I like to also use it in the daytime. The reason I do copper peptides at night is out of habit. I used to keep them separate from vitamin C and I used vitamin C in the morning (although I don’t have vitamin C in my routine right now and it doesn’t matter anyway…copper peptides are fine with vitamin c 😅). Growth serums can go AM or PM. That really comes down to your specific routine….do you like less layers in the morning? You could easily layer copper peptides, growth factors and dna repair at night no issue. Does this help? 💙
Penn I have a question, I hope you can help me. From Monday to Thursday I use my vitamin C in the morning and my retinol at night and on Friday I use slurp decalt exfoliant, on Saturday I use paulas choice 6% mandelic + 2% lactic and on Sunday I use dr dennis gross alpha beta daily peel for sensitive skin my question is if with the routine I have I can add biologique's P50 lotion in the mornings? And if I can use the P50 lotion with my vitamin C…. Thank you 🙏🏻
Hi! Ok so I think if you added p50 in the AM (which would be fine before your C) you may not need the Paula’s choice (you wouldn’t need it) or the DDG. I’m not familiar with the slurp but I’m guessing you wouldn’t need that either. So if I were you I’d finish those before getting P50 or plan to set them aside for the most part. 💙
Hi Penny, thank you for your recommendations. I have the same age and issues as you. I have very very dry under eye I think is because the menopause . I try many many eye creams and I didn’t find one. Can you recommend anyone ? 🙏

@hsubydoo8436 I haven’t heard of qualia, I’ll look it up!
Diane! I just wanted to say you have an awesome routine going!!
I am so glad you’re here 💙
I had actually never heard of retinol until I started watching RUclips a few years ago.
Can’t wait for the PM routine to follow ✌🏻👍🏼 Thanks Penny 😁
Thank you Mark! I hope you have a great rest of your weekend ❤️
Same!
You are looking so beautiful and healthy!
Thank you so much!
Thanks for all the details! Can't wait for the PM routine!
Thank you!
Honestly I could add 5 more and be happy….some people like knitting, buying shoes, puzzles (ok I like those too) but I love skincare lol
Your routine sounds PERFECT!
I started the estriol cream recently. Is it ok to use with tretinoin? I thought it’s supposed to be used in the AM.
@@tamikops The estriol creams typically contain some moisturizing ingredients so using them after tretinoin works well. They are not contraindicated and for most individuals there is no irritation from estriol.
@@TinamariePappaswhat’s estriol?
Wondering why you didn’t include the revivserum and what you are using instead?
I am not using growth factors right now- for no reason at all actually. I love the ultimate serum but I decided to redo my routine and left it out this go-round. It is still my favorite GF product- for multiple reasons (affordability, formulation etc) 💙
I’m listening!!! I have purchased all your recommendations because I truly love your skin and it’s only getting better and better! Thank you Penny!!!
I love to hear *it’s only getting better and better* that is AWESOME!!!
LOVE your videos so much - I’ve learned so much from you! I would love a video showing products you’d recommend to people in their 30s. I sometimes get a little overwhelmed and purchase way too many products so a suggested am/pm routine would be soo helpful!
The COSRX birch sap oil free moisturizer is so great in the summer for my combo skin! Super inexpensive ❤
Let’s hope you do too!👏👏👏
They are delivering it to me!
I’m so glad it worked out for you!!
You are such an inspiration! Please share your workout routine!!! I need motivation
Your skin issues are the same as mine. So that helps me when I watch you.😊
🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
wow PennSmith..i haven't been here in a year...you look completely different...i guess it must be working! beautiful before, beautiful now!
Thank you Penny for sharing your AM routine with such clarity.
You've got some great finds in here, as always! Thank you Penn! ❤🙏
My issue with carry on is my skincare! I can’t seem to get it down to just a couple things….i love doing skincare on trips. Its like heaven to be in a hotel doing my routine lol
But im weird 😂
can you please do the Allies of Skin peptides line? Oh, and estriol face cream too?
Penny has some videos on estriol. Check out her video, menopause, estrogen and your skin, the real medical grade skincare.
@@db-gb5xi thank you!
I have eyeballed that forever!! **going to look it up!
@PENNSMITHSKINCARE I feel like it's nothing mind blowing but the hydration factor is top notch...but there's no shine or greasiness about it.... just plump and smooth skin.
Can't wait for PM Routine, thanks for the AM routine
I have heard that you can use it on your face. But right now I cannot remember who/where I heard that from.
From my understanding the estriol creams can be absorbed through your facial skin whereas the estradiol is uterine absorbed. Which would mean no it would do you no good on your face.
I know you will get heaps of questions on routine-
But I’ve asked around on helping my AM routine, and still lost.
If you can help :
Skin type: Combo, hormonal acne prone skin, not sensitive to acids though. Very pale with freckles, over 40.
Products I use mostly:
Some days a might toner like Tirtir light.
I do acids lactic and salicylic in dropper bottles
Vitamin c
Nicinamide with zinc
A multi-peptide serum (current one without copper, but next one will have this added I think)
Moisteriser/ sunscreen
Love your help with knowing where the vitamin c and nicinamide can go in here along with toner if that’s before of after acids?
Thanks
The serums would be applied after the use of the acids.
Thank you! thank you. I love your skincare routine. We have exactly the same issues. I’m so blessed to have found your channel. ❤
I’m so blessed that you choose to be here! Happy Monday 💙💙
The Ordinary 10% lactic acid serum is affordable and can be applied in the morning before vitamin c
Wow! I use many of these products already! I was wondering how long you wait between layers?
when we use so many products and devices and things -- how do we ever know which item is working well? or which is not ideal?
You’re so sweet pretty and kind Penny. Kudos and love to you ❤
Oh my gosh, that’s so nice of you!! 🥹💙
Hi, I always enjoy your videos! Where do I use the vitamin C serum?
I wondered what you think of the drmtlgy essential cleanser with peptides and aloe. Always enjoy you sharing your expertise. Thank you.
It’s a nice cleanser although I find it a *tiny* bit drying for my skin. But if you’re not dry you might love it!
That three prong approach will fade existing spots 💙💙
I LOVE the Dr Ceuracle essence!! I went through an entire bottle and then got side tracked (for a couple years!!). I will have to order another bottle when I get through some of this good stuff 😅
Thanks for the reminder!
I love your hair. I can never get the right color. Please let us know who you do it! Do they color extensions for you?
So the top 5-6 inches is just my natural color- I haven’t colored it in almost a year.
The extensions are pre-colored mix to match the mix of my hair. The extensions are by the brand Habit- they are hand tied and sewn in 2 rows. I don’t have a ton of hair in, but enough to boost my wimpy hair lol
Thank you for your kindness 💙
Yay for this video...obsessed with skincare and trust your recommendations❤
Thank you for being here!
I’m obsessed with skincare too lol
Oh and thank you so much for your kindness!!
Are products that are just growth factors (like Neo Genesis Growth Factor Recovery Serum) a better choice?@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE
So you should micro needle on dry skin w/out ANY "slip"? And then put the hyaluronic acid on afterwards? And if you want to use a Growth serum, then how long should you wait to apply that )after micro needling/hyaluronic acid)?
Thanks Penny.
I’m a New viewer & absolutely love your routine. Very similar to mine but I’ve never explored DNA repair. Super interesting. Turning 47 this month & need all the help I can get!
Hey! Welcome!
I’m so glad you’re here 😍😍
I’m a coffee girl too. Thanks for sharing your routine 😊
Hi Pen,
I am watching your videos on and off and you look amazing and definitely much more younger than your age (10 years at least).🙂
To be such a diligent person with the way you take care of your skin it’s a huge commitment and I really admire your dedication and determination.
@@Ms-vh7oe I like to use acids in the morning after cleansing. I just always wear SPF 💙
Hi Penny, can you advise on how to use AHA toner for someone that uses Tretinoin.
The clinique (alcohol free version 1.0) toner (with bha) is amazing.
Thank you!
Thank you Penn! As always, great info! Do you have any mineral SPF recommendations? I will not use chemical SPF and always on a lookout for good physical SPF recommendations. Thank you!
Woohoo! I have been waiting for this. Thank you
Yay! 💙😍
You have turned me on to Dermelect and am diligently making notes on this routine too. You radiate inner and outer beauty!
That is so nice of you! Dermelect is excellent! I actually forgot eye cream the day I filmed this lol
The eye lite from Dermelect is a dream 😍
Excited for the fall peels with you! I'm doing mandelic on my face now but will switch to TCA this winter. 😊
I'm interested in the Prequel brand.
So I have faced this dilemma myself! So when I have to choose I’ll use SPF, workout, wash my face and start my skincare fresh.
I hope this helps! 💙💙
Thanks for another great video, Penn! Do you have any options for the Photozyme Omega 36 Body? I would use that up in a week lol.
Let me look!
You’d be surprised though- I use a blob (that’s a technical term fyi) like 1/3 the size of a golf ball every day and it goes a long way. But I will search….its pretty unique product although I’ve never tried to find an alternative so there may be one! 💙
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE Thank you, you are just the best. XOXO
I do understand what you mean 💙
I do videos on budget skincare too, maybe you’ve missed those.

It’s ale Vera based
Thanks so much for the video
Thank you gorgeous for another wonderful video. Great information.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you! You are the second person to recommend! I’ll definitely look into the brand 😍💙
Some of my travel containers are most unsexy….like little Tupperware for my body cream 😂
I’m getting ready to go on a trip, I’ll record what I pack etc! 💙
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE That would be great. Thank you.
Can you do like a simplified skin care routine for us that are just getting started like you must haves?
This is an older video but it should be helpful! ruclips.net/video/YgRThMwG1Gs/видео.html 😊
I have the Cysteamine and will try your tip! It sits in my cabinet because it irritates my skin. Thank you Penny
you definitely need to birchsap after acids...do you use vitamin C in the morning?
I don’t right now but have in the past and surely will again 😊😊
What about pigment inhibitors if you are darker skinned? I always worry about pigment inhibitors because I have more Mediterranean skin.
Unlike skin “bleaching” creams pigment inhibitors just control excess melanin.
Do I understand exactly how? No, not really but I do know that the list of actives I use do not lighten overall pigment but rather excess pigment 💙
I’ll see if I can find out WHY (maybe I’ll get a chemist on?!)
I just bought DMAE serum. Do you recommend that before or after my Reviv GF serum?
18:18 Hi Penn. Given all your skin concerns which are similar to mine, would you say that a DNA Repair serum is better suited in your routine compared to a Growth Factor Serum?
Right now for me, yes. 💙
U are absolutely glowing! Your skin is gorgeous
Thank you so much!
hi there. love your videos. jyst wondering if you have ever heard of not mixing creatine with caffeine? most influencers i watch combine them, but my brand says not ti right on the package. thanks
Hmm. I’m not sure- I’ll look in to it. I don’t ever put it in my coffee anyway but I’ll certainly research this!
Such a great video, thank you!!! If the DNA youth serum corrects hyperpigmentation, why do you also use the pigment inhibitor? Thanks! : )
You look amazing. Have you done buccal fat removal?
I haven’t, but I did do 2 Agnes treatments to that area in the last 10 months 😊
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE what type of treatment is that?
@@tinamerlot4403 I would like to know. She looks great x
@@tinamerlot4403 It's radiofrequency with microneedling, similar to Morpheus 8 but is better at fat removal and working on sagging skin.
Thank you
The collagen/creatine drink… is that just water and the powders?
Thank you! I'm making a list, hoping to buy all these goodies in November. :)
Should I wait after applying Lotion P50 before applying the next step (essence)?
All best!
Love your videos I've been a subscriber for about 6 yrs and I'm wondering if you'd be interested in doing your workout routine.
Hi Penny! Are you still using a growth factor and Vitamin C serum? Love this video!! ❤ You look fabulous 😍 Have a blessed Sunday!!! ☀️🌈💛
When layering thinnest to thickest, what about products that say to apply to a bare face as the first step? I’m pretty sure I have several like that.
How would you fit estrial cream into this routine?
Hello, great video! Wondering if I can use p50 lotion and vitamin c together in my am routine? 🤔
Yes! P50 then vitamin c serum after 😍
Thank u, can I add DNA repair enzymes after?
Thank you so much for your quick response!❤
Penny I use a menopause cream for lifting my neck its No.7 for menopause have you heard of it?
What do you recommend for me. My skin has become sensitive to all acids! Retinoic acid (Tretinoin), alpha hydroxy acids, l-ascorbic acid, THD, and also hydroquinone. Should I go for peptides instead?
You could look in to bakuchiol and also you could try polyhydroxy acids (obviously patch testing).
Beyond that, yes, peptides are a great option for “actives” that are typically non-sensitizing 💙
Wonderful information, Penn. Thank you & ❤u
Will L-Ascorbic acid 20% be enough of an alternative to fade bright as a pigment inhibitor or is it best as an add on to fade bright in the morning ?
I use it in the PM too 💙💙💙
Part of the reason I use it in the AM is that one of the DNA repair enzymes is activated by sunlight.
Hi! I've read through all the questions/answers and still feel the need to ask:
Copper peptides, growth serums, dna recovery---can they be used together or should i balance them between day and night?
@PENNSMITHSKINCARE OMG so helpful
Thank u!!
@@paytonal yay! You’re welcome 💙
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE thank you 🙏🏻
What are your thoughts on herbal face food?
Hi Penny, thank you for your recommendations. I have the same age and issues as you.
I have very very dry under eye I think is because the menopause .
I try many many eye creams and I didn’t find one.
Can you recommend anyone ? 🙏
