@@hhktnn oh my bad
7:21 logo was used in 1968 only of course in Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey. The NY times' film critic Renata Alder begins her review of the film "Even the M-G-M lion is stylized and abstracted ...." I believe it was also used in the film THE SUBJECT WAS ROSES, also released in 1968.
7:18 WHAT THE HELL!
BTW what is that from?
Madame Mystic The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967).
Madame mystic is vampire
Yeah but wtf did they have too do that
4:03 Yeah, that's my homie!

3:15 Now THAT's an angry lion!
Thats what I call 40s classic logo
The one from the 40s until the modern one I think in 1957 is the only other one I've actually seen while watching a movie, and it's easily the 2nd best one after the current one. A lot of the other ones it seems so awkward, the ones from the 20s and earlier the lion looks like it doesn't understand what's happening lol.
You know you're watching a James Bond movie when the MGM lion roars, followed by the theme and the gun barrel.
We've got lions like George, Tanner and Coffee screaming their heads off, then there's just Slats looking around like "oh is that food? is that food? gimme food"
Also, George is one handsome lion. Very thick, healthy mane
Fun fact Leo's ICONIC roar was not actually done by Leo himself they just had him lip sync a Siberian tiger roar
No its not, its actual lions growling. not a roar of a tiger nor lion.
The later ones yes.
I love the Marx Brothers standing in for Leo😂. Plus I remember a Laurel and Hardy film where Stan warn Ollie not to go around the corner because “MGM” was there. Was this Tanner the lion doing a cameo?
4:15 is my favourite logo because It's the logo of one of my favourites movies "The Wizard of Oz"
5:18 looks like its brand new for an old intro!
7:20 this one is pure gold! They should have used it for chitty chitty bang bang bc it's from 68.
8:31 he roared too loud he broke it and same as the next one!
10:09 that also changes from year to year, that intro does look cool!
4:14 Logo from The Wizard of Oz
7:20 Logo from 2001: A Space Odyssey
The "2001" logo was supposed to be so unpopular that it was never used again.
9:11 Logo from Legally Blonde
@@olivermurrihy2970 and ironically the film itself is an unforgettable masterpiece..
I think they did use that logo for another film that year and then never again
You meant: 9:21
Idk why but I always feel cozy and homey whenever i listen to mgm's and wb's intros

The intro music of That's Entertainment 2 is beautiful, especially in PAL pitched.
Amazon closes $8.5 billion deal to acquire MGM….So now the logo with the Lion 🦁 show Metro Goldwyn Mayer An Amazon Company

10年ぶりにこのロゴ見れた。懐かしい
わかる!
What movie is the 1939 lion at 4:09 from? I've never seen that one before
All the movies I watched as a kid had this roaring lion in them! I miss him
3:36 This logo has The Marx Brothers and the funniest thing is in fact that Harpo was honking his horn.
Did you see it changed from Ars Gratia Artists to Marx Gratia Marxes
3 MGM logos had tanner roaring in the mgm cartoon logo for tom and jerry
Can't wait to see their 100th anniversary logo in 2024.
Um. Anyone there? It's 2024 now.
4:15 that’s my favorite MGM Variant since this is from “The Wizard Of Oz” I have the film on DVD and it’s so perfect
