- It has been quite awhile since I did a video in my STAMPING BASICS series, so I thought it was about time to focus on the Basics so - How To Use Embossing Folders in the Big Shot is today's topic!
It's hard for me to make a card without using the Big Shot, and I know I always forget that not everyone is as comfortable with it as I am. It's simple to use, but can be confusing as to which plates and how to make the "sandwich" that you run through the machine.
So I am going to do a couple of videos talking about all the different accessories and ways to use the Stampin' Up!Big Shot by Sizzix. We are starting today with how to use embossing folders in the Big Shot. There are 2 different types of folders, and the "sandwich" is different, depending on which type of folder you are using.

Thank you Jackie again! I did not know what the black lines on the embossing folders were for, duh! Lol! And now I know to cut my paper bigger for the dynamic folders. I'm a beginner and need all of the help I can get. You are truly my go to person to help me out, thank you. GREAT tips, Jackie, as always! I have 2 questions: When you “cut cs larger”, what are measurements that you use?? And, when you flatten out an embossed piece that you’d done in a Dynamic folder, does the size return to original size, 4 x 5 1/4?? Oh, and another, so I have 3 questions~~do you spritz your cs when using Dynamic folders?? Sure do appreciate your sharing your ideas n’ tips with us! Jackie can you tell me the exact sandwich for the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions folder on the older Big Shot platform with tabs? It doesnt seem to work as per the instructions! Thanks

Great tips. Do you mist the card stock when using the dynamic embossing folders? I’ve heard I should but tend not to.
How do I use the 3D embossing folders on my Sizzix Big Kick? I've tried every combination possible and nothing works. Do I need to buy a new platform described on page 153 of the SU May 21 through April 22.

I watched the whole video to see what direction to feed embossing folder through big shot (closed or open) and I didn’t see you say..so disappointed
Thank you. I was worried if I did it wrong it would ruin the folder. I am grateful you are willing to share. I apologize for my bad mood. I get too frustrated when what I cut out or emboss doesn’t come out how I want. I had no right to verbalize my frustration.
