Chesnokov - Do Not Cast Me Off - for solo contrabass and string orchestra

Hello! Here's the fifth and final piece in my set of Chesnokov orchestrations for string orchestra, Do Not Cast Me Off Op.40-5. Originally for oktavist and TTBB choir, it was also part of his Russian Orthodox Service Op.40. This piece is one of the standards of the (albeit rather small) oktavist repertoire.
Text: Psalm 71
Ne otverzhi mene vremya starosti
Vnegda odskudevati kreposti moyey,
Ne ostavi mene.
Yako resha vrazi moi mne i stregushchii dushu moyu soveshchasha vkule, glagolyusche:
"Bog ostavil yest' yevo,
Pozhenite i imite yevo, yako nest' izbavlyayay."
Bozhe moy, ne udalisa ot mene,
Bozhe moy, v pomoshch moyu vonmi.
Da postydyatsa i ischeznut oklevetayushchii
Dushu moyu, da oblekutsa v stud i sram idushchii zlaya mne. Azh zhe vsegda vozupovayu na Tya, i prilozhu na vsyaku pokhvalu Tvoyu.

Do not reject me in my old age,
when my strength is spent, do not forsake me.
For my enemies speak concerning me, and those
who lie in wait to ambush my soul
