"Beyblade" is a spinning top game where players launch customizable spinning tops into a small dish and, through the power of physics, battle it out. The peripheral you're probably referring to is the "Beypoint Reader"; a little adapter that was released with the first Metal Fight Beyblade DS game. The Beypoint Reader allowed you to connect a Beypointer to the DS, and transfer points to it. The "Beypointer" was a little device that attached to a launcher that would reward points to whoever won a battle and act as sort of a ranking system. The Beypointer could also be used to connect to "Bey Ta" arcade machines to play for a chance to win an exclusive Beyblade Top(Quetzalcoatl 90WF for Bey Ta 1, and Mercury Anubis 85XF for Bey Ta 2).

Not to say the DS Lite doesn't have any advantages, but if I'm going to sit down and play at home, where I don't have to worry about it fitting in my pocket, then I'll go for the big boy every time.

So bare with me. Megaman Battle Network, I know people have VERY mixed feelings about the series, but they did something really cool with the DS remake of the 5th game. Not only was that basically a super cart that let you play both versions and get some extra goodies if you dug around for them, but it also had a special feature if you still had the past games laying around. Basically, depending on what BN game is stuck into the GBA slot, certain bonuses happen. Most commonly you change the background music to music from that game. But, and this is a big one, if you have an older version of 5 in the GBA slot, you can actually import your old chip decks to fill out your library or give yourself access to super powerful chip decks early on! One of the cool things I had for my DS was the Maxx Media Player, an MP3 player for my DS that used a 4 gig drive that plugged into the GBA port and could be connected to a computer via mini-usb. It was my MP3 player throughout highschool. l remember always getting weird looks from kids when they would pull out their ipod to connect the AUX cord to, and then I pull out my DS. The cool thing was it could also do home brew, and the instruction manual told you about a website to find homebrew on.

Beyblade (bay-blayd) Noun (Singular) A kind of metal spinning top powered by a small, mechanically operated motor that has a penchant for injuring the faces of small children.
I was watching this whole video to see if you were going to cover my favorite Slot 2 peripheral... which you did (kinda), with the optical mouse Slide Adventure Magkid peripheral. You definitely owe it to yourself to pick this up because it offers a unique - and pretty good - gameplay experience.
"I'm an old man, I don't even know what Bayblade is." About an anime, and toyline from the old man generation. It's a toy/anime series about customizable tops that you fight with. Never played with them myself, but they were all over tv back then x-x.
"What is Beyblade?" It's a TOP, Derek. Just a plastic silly top. Nothing more than a stupid top. And not even good ones. The ones i used to play, made of wood and nails, were much better.

Speaking card scanners, there’s also another game that does it called MushiKing. It’s a home port of the arcade entry for the Sega Naomi. You basically choose a bug and pick 3 of its special moves to start the game. And as for the gameplay, it’s basically rock, paper, and scissors combined with epic insect battles. And fun fact, it’s been put into Kiwami as a minigame, but the insects are replaced with gals dressed as insects for fanservices. Anyway, back to MushiKing on DS, what’s neat about it is the fact that it’s an arcade entry you can play on the go or at home, and the fact you can collect cards and build a good setup for your beetle. Oh and also, if you don’t have any cards, the game will give you the option to randomly pick a beetle and move set. Anyway, I find this really enjoyable, but boy, it’s gonna be hard to find and search cards for the DS port. But hey, I highly recommend getting it.
My parents specifically didn't trade in my old DS _because_ of the slot 2 phase-out. At the time, my GBA SP was still inside the couch apparently (it would take years to find that one out) which made the DS my only way to play GBA games.
Best Guitar Hero experience on the DS is playing the Roadie Battle mode in GH5 for Wii. I have very fond memories of playing it for hours with a group of friends, taking turns being the roadie and the guitarist.
I never bought a DSi, lol. I own a DS Lite and a flash cart that my ex bought me for my birthday in 2008. I still own it, and it's in my closet. That thing must have gotten me through so many troubled times. When the 3DS started working with old flash carts a few years ago, I tried my old flash cart in my 3DS, and when it actually worked, what a nostalgia rush!
Even though it's the most mundane of the bunch, I'm really surprised no even mention of the Rumble Pak. Came with Metroid Prime Pinball but a handful of others used it.
I was one of those people that got the Guitar Hero DS Game. I got the Decades version tho. It was a great price too, it was like 10$ at Khols [who would think that Khols would stock video games], years after it released and players were just fatigued of the Guitar Hero and Rock Band phase. That fact that it came with a Guitar Pick as a stylus was really cool too!

I like this video. But seriously reconsider removing NordVPN as your sponsor. Talk about compromising all your internet traffic. And then just doubling down on more ads instead of addressing the problem and admitting it was a mistake. They seemingly show no awareness or learning from their mistakes. Avoid like cancer.
I can’t watch this right now but it is EXTREMELY my shit so I’m definitely gonna watch it later. Ilu. here’s a comment and a like for that good good discoverability!
Beyblade (bay-blayd)
Noun (Singular)
A kind of metal spinning top powered by a small, mechanically operated motor that has a penchant for injuring the faces of small children.
Yeah, Grace, stop slot-shaming the DS! Shame on you.
7:29 and Pat goes crazy, getting flashbacks of Matt talking about Face/Off all the time.
Someone should hack that piano thing to work with a tracker software.

Couldn’t play Let It Be
"I'm an old man, I don't even know what Bayblade is." About an anime, and toyline from the old man generation. It's a toy/anime series about customizable tops that you fight with. Never played with them myself, but they were all over tv back then x-x.
Saw notification, IMMEDIATELY clicked. Thanks D.
That kanji dictionary saved my life in japanese class in college!
Slot shaming

WHEEZE*
Oh my God Grace at 0:06 she bout lost it lol
"What is Beyblade?" It's a TOP, Derek. Just a plastic silly top. Nothing more than a stupid top. And not even good ones. The ones i used to play, made of wood and nails, were much better.
Plastic?
I remember having five Bleyblades, all metallic ones
Seto Kaiba you could even get metal toys that don't wear down nearly as much.
@@2KDrop Not the point
What i'm wondering is if i somehow got "bootleg" bleyblades that for some reason were of higher quality than the official ones
Also hard for them not to wear down, they are tops, and most kids used to make two clash together to mimic the anime fights
@@KaibaSeto. No, there were officially licensed metallic ones. They started around 08-09
I love Grace, her reactions to your slot puns where fantastic.
6:06 - Face Training for the DSi released in PAL regions as a physical release :)
I'm not 100% certain, but I do think it was the only DSi exclusive software to hit Europe.
"And If You Want More Slot Action..."
Oh my god lol! 😂😂😂
"From C to shining C"
We appreciate your jokes, no matter how much they make us groan.
This is something i needed several years ago, but finally i have a comprehensive video.
Derek is one of the only people I'm aware of who can make such terrible puns seem so incredibly charming.
My parents specifically didn't trade in my old DS _because_ of the slot 2 phase-out. At the time, my GBA SP was still inside the couch apparently (it would take years to find that one out) which made the DS my only way to play GBA games.
"Beam me up Slotty". I'm down with a video of straight punning.
Best Guitar Hero experience on the DS is playing the Roadie Battle mode in GH5 for Wii. I have very fond memories of playing it for hours with a group of friends, taking turns being the roadie and the guitarist.
"We ain't finished with you girl. We ain't finished with that slot"
"we comin back"
I never bought a DSi, lol.
I am so stoked for you guys to cover Boktai/Lunar Knights and Monster Rancher.
