- One year after the OG Synthwave Dante paint guide we're back to check in on the progress of our mini-painting journey and to see if we can finally achieve a colour-shifting non-metallic metal on a Warhammer 40k model.

This is absolutely incredible. I was super excited to see how you explain doing the axe and i believe im going to redo my Lion El’Jonson sword like that. Right now its a black base with red lightning.looks cool sure and its red because a lot of sword on dark angel insignias and artwork is red. Soo the primarch need a red swor in my mind. So if i could improve on the red sword idea i think a lava style sword using the red and orange type tones sound really cool.
This is one big reason i love your content so much. You make me question the norm and do something out there a little. Something different than anyone else has. Thats kind of what led me to do my lion in deathwing colors too.
Simply said, you inspire me to think outside the box and i cant tell you how much i appreciate it. I intend on joining your patreon soon. Keep up the phenomenal work.

a creamy Deathwing Lion spounds pretty awesome by itself but a lava sword on top, pure fire!

Question! What might it be like to use an airbrush to achieve some of the base level transitions? Is there pros and cons vs a brush?
if you were going for an OSL instead of a colour shift it could set the placements for you but it does take a little control out of your hands. the pro with the traditional brush is being able to control everything, the con to that is you then have to know where everything is going. the air brush pro is its quick and easy to catch directional light and fades, thje con is its easy to over spray and you cant be quite as precise
I am about to ditch the GW range entirely save a few paints that i like due to the lack of dropper bottles. I take such huge breaks from painting that i basically have to re buy paints every time. Army painter has really stepped up their game and your use of their paints is making me want to take the plunge.
100% backed. the GW pots are what really did me in for them and got me looking around in the begining. TAP have absolutely stepped up! i ended up with around 900 paints before the Fanatics came out and they became my daily driver 😁
