Seeing your style of painting just reminds me of the 90s Spiderman cartoon with Venom. He would have blue lighting on the left and red on the right. I recon it would be a cool style to apply to some death company marines.
This is such a cool paint scheme! Might be my favorite tricky method yet. The models look like they're stepping out of the shadows and the effect is just so striking. I think I'll try it for a scout/sneaky focused successor chapter.

And today you release this Banger of a Video! In my opinion, this has to be one of the coolest methods to get our lil plastic guys the grimmy, darky, gribbly, bold dark neon look. I will definitly try to mimic and learn this. I will try on some guard fellows first to get the hang, but i imagine a Grey Knight Palladin Squad in the blue scheme with a hot Pink Blade for everyone, could be really neat... Thanks for the inspiration! Also, i am currently binging through your videos and your work is astonishingly beautyful! looking forward to the next Video

I saw a cool tmm black video recently by Resourceful Miniatures that might pair well with this technique, it was just take some really shiny silver paint(I think it was Vallejo aluminum) and add some black ink to it, there were some other highlighting steps but that but I think just that first step would work really well for the black armor with this technique and provide an extra point of contrast.
Such a badass painting scheme. I'm gonna toy around with some of these techniques to build up my arsenal, thanks for the video. I feel like every time I put my paints away, I see something that gives me a new itch I need to scratch.
oh the crimson fists came out so fantastic. the ancient crimson fist space marines codex was what got me into 40k, it's nice to see something representing them in the modern era
They all turned out great! One of my biggest issues has been painting reds having it look too orange, pink, or even purple depending on shadow and highlight colors, so the speed paint over it idea is a great help!
oh yeah, thats something ive struggled with for a while too. sure it darkens it down a few shades but atleast it gives us some room to build highlights and shadows without it looking washed out
@MegamanZero410 from the speedpaint my favourites are familiar pink and carribean ocean but from the new Fanatic range, wicked pink is an absolute banger!

A thought on an interesting challenge with this scheme: Would it be possible to do the Alpha Legion where they are midway through transforming from one of the other chapters into their own Alpha Legion?
i played around with this on some test models. colours like pink and green work really well. magenta on the red is pretty cool, the blue doesnt do a great deal since blue fluorescents arent usually that strong and the yellow isnt that great, imperial fist contrast yellow can really make it pop though

That could absolutely be something that happens. I have some Shatterpoint Mandos that I was thinking about doing this too but we could probably put an order in for Legion too!
How would i do 3:07 with only GW paints??? (Red my beloved) i only have Gal Vorbak, Khorne and Mephiston reds to work with (and Flesh Tearers Contrast)
Itll work with just about any paint brand. Some of the stronger and more opaque paints will cover well enough, others will need quite a few coats to build up to the same level, especially over black. If you can get your hands on the Army Painter fanatics paints their coverage will really help out
The reverse is the same as the front but not built up to the same level of brightness. They're a lot dimmer. Except the green one, that one is all black and I kinda dig it tbh
I was actually asked this earlier so I've been thinking about it a bit. Bikes would work pretty easily but for tanks it would have to have more transition layers and look a little more cel shaded but it's definitely something we can look at covering and worth a play around with at minimum

It's something that's been requested quite a bit since this and the shorts came out and something I'm working on for a paint guide. There's a little bit more involved with it

I’ve been debating a paint scheme for possibly alpha legion, I think this would be an interesting idea for their tortoise. Definitely gonna try it

wonder if doing the final color in pure white and then glazing with a fluorescent paint might look good
