But its time to stop using glass textures on roads
Road textures are quite awful in MW2012 mod tho. Stupid pitchblack asphalt like its some amateur texpack for Underground 2 done by a 12 year old...
@f0ur3y No, only brand new asphalt is dark gray/black. It also is gettong duller and lighter gray after it cures and collects dust/gets ground off, revealing stone used in it.
Different types like concrete based roads are much lighter from the start.
Only asphalt that is pitchblack is freshly laid.
OG most wanted has worn old cracked, smoothed out asphalt covered in autumn leaves. Not this done 20 seconds ago bs texpack. MW2012 also.doesnt have pitchblack asphalt.
@@Kacpa2im not changing the asphalt texture, and I dont care what mw2005 roads look like. i like the look of freshly laid asphalt. Also, 2012 does have pitch black asphalt, thats where I got the textures from :) go to the dlc airport before spewing nonsense
@@TsEnksx1 It doesnt have this asphalt anywhere else. My point still stands, it just looks stupid for whole city to have pitchblack fresh asphalt. Especially goven how rockport is. You should use fairhsven textures, not airport one. Since fairhaven is spiritual remake of rockport visually.
Yes, it IS missing a LOT of things. Anything animated or destructible is missing. So is the traffic, scripted particle effects, sounds, etc.
But of course it's not a finished mod yet. This is a lot like trying to make GTA3 or VC run on the Rage engine. Similar challenges.

It’s missing alot of things because MW12 map modding is limited with current tool support. Adding scripted traffic would take months since it can only be done by hand via hex editing. Adding smashable props also not possible unless you add every single one individually manually with hex edit. That’s thousands of meshes with coord transforms all having to be done by hand
It’s unrealistic to port any of that stuff until the tool is further developed. Being a graphics artist wont help with anything tbh lol
@@TsEnksx1 I like your informative comment, but being a graphic artist actually does help in a remaster project. Here's why:
The reason to go to a new engine is because of the limitations of the old engine. Older engines don't do a lot of things newer ones do, so the textures need a lot more work to look correct.
And guess who does that? 😁

No, what is missing is good gameplay/handling. Fans like you who think it was pooice or customization are ones that lead to downfall of these series. Its what Ghost focused on instead of fixing the gameplay and sounds they themselves ruined starting with nfs 2015.
MW2012 atleast has the sound done nearly perfectly and nice ost for most part.

@@josewtfbruh. Main issue with MW2012 is lack of any real career outside the list. Each car is repeat of 5-6 upgrade unlcokong races and nothing else. Rivals is technicly better, being mix of Hot Pursuit and MW2012, but it has its own issues mostly how badly it runs freezes.
If MW2012 had a bit better handling model, actual career and garage even in barebines version from Rivals, then it would be better, but even without that HP2010 is better than Most Wanted 2012. It plays better and there is progression there and long list of events.
This looks like rockport RTX on
This is such a loving recreation of the original map and environment. Feels modern yet so familiar. Perfectly captures the rustic, decaying feel of Rockport on modern graphics
matus, are you rebuild everything from scratch using the same engine on mw2012 ? or can you make it this graphic mod on nfs carbon?
You can tell in some scenes like the rockport police station that mw had scripted shadows because it isnt dark in the garage. But in areas where he has rescripted them, omg does it look amazing. I will say though mw 2005 has better sense of speed, partly due to the scripted sounds when you pass by large objects at speed like the rosewood bridge.

@@mikerinzler6969 i work in modding, its always been referred to as scripting. Idk why, thats just been the term. Back in the gta san andreas days Cleo scripting was pretty big.
How does this work on 2012? You add the map and it loads into it ready? And I believe you lose the story mode and just a free roam map?

No its not. I ripped it from MW05. I just took rockport turnpike from world and merged it to mws map.
