  • so id thought id try the trx remix inspired preset i did with the this map mod as was requested. lighting looks nothing like how it does with mw due to prebaked lighting on the map itself, due to this the map essentially looks like it should be night time as lamposts have baked textures in place to emulate light but in a game thats always daytime it looks weird lol. but overall still looks nice in sunset imo

    I knew that baking lighting into textures was a thing but I never realised Carbon did it! The canyons also hold up surprisingly well in daylight. Cool!

    I would love the undercover map to be connected to canyon and rockport i dont want the races just wanna drive around

    It seems to lower FPS quite a lot compared to og rendering, it disabled itself for a split second couple of times and it run at 60fps.

    6:47 Even with baked in lighting interfering somewhat it looks great. I wish that mod fixed this, either by reusing MW textures or some other way but well, author shows no signs of life for years now...
    and sunset at 9:29 is just spectacular, i know it looks excessive in X360 version in MW in general.

    is it possible to port Undercover's map into mw
    or do you have any tutorial about how to use vlted to port map

      Vlted wouldn't allow map port or anything as it doesn't access mesh bundles or bin its only vault entries or something like that which is essentially just typical data like floats that have been categorised and labelled. There is hashes in there that sometimes do relate to the games map but its normally shader stuff, render stuff and lighting but that's about it for it.

    How does MW handling feels to you in Carbon's canyons? I kind of like how it feels. Cars are much faster in MW05 compared to Carbon and it shown me so much when i tried myself.

      Tbh reminds just like carbon but lighter in some aspects and the speed tge cars reach in mw compared to carbon is 10x better shame they didn't keep it like this

      That's because they reduced the power of a lot of cars when they ported them from mw to carbon

      @@interextated I recall it being unholy mix of car class idea and deliberately slowing cara down to "allow for more complex tracks" but its utter lie in terms of Palmont city itself since its all super wide unchallenging roads.
      I see it as massove detritment to enjoyment from playing Carbon. I still comeback to MW05 but Carbon just turns me away with this.

      bro clearly never played canyons. and the cars were slowed for class reasons (ex: game literally telling you the tuners have terrible speed but excel in handling muscles have the speed but suck in handling and exotics are the most balanced@@Kacpa2

      @@interextated I played Carbon dosens of time and i love canyons and drifting in it. I just hate what blackbox did to the cars from tiers, sense of speed, sound to upgrades being almost inconsequential compared to Most Wanted.

      Filter is just what I made for base game so it looked like the rtx remix but world shaders and baked lighting for Polmont lol weird due to it been day and been a port over.

      I would love to see it ported. I always liked PS2 Undercover, much more than main release. It was just fun to play and had this medium budget ps2 game junkiness in a fun way in it. While main release was just unfininshed unfun mess that failed to feel like Most Wanted or atleast Carbon. Fortunetly LegSolo is fixing it bit by bit.

      There is a Palmont map mod for MW05 by NFSU360, it was released before he went radiosilent couple years ago.
