      EASY PLUG AND PLAY SYSTEM? I cannot install my self to my Nissan Juke 2017. Fitter charge me £200 for Media Headset ( Atoto A6 7pf), 150 dascam + rearview camera. Cost me £350 to install. Now I have wire connection only but wireless and only one radio running which is BBC1. So if people ask what benefit you have from this upgrade? I tell them I have back up camera. My original head unit. Have a steering control, hand free call, car play, many radio channel. I wish I can say I m very happy as well.

    Thank you for making this video. I am thinking about putting one of these units into an MX-5 and had a couple of questions. Does it have a day/night mode where the unit's display gets darker at night? I had heard the backlight on some of these stays very bright at night and distracting. Is the color on the physical buttons programmable and do they dim at night? Does the google maps work without a phone connection? Have you had any problems at all with the steering wheel controls? (I have a box that interfaces the current radio I have and it acts flakey with my current radio. I was wondering if the ATOTO built in functionality worked better on the Mazda) . Thank you again for making this video.

      Yes there is a wire labeled dimmer that gets connected and automatically dims the display when headlights go on. On top of that you can set the the brightness of the display easily right at the top with the little sun logo. Yes the buttons are programmable to match the color of your vehicle button lights. Like a big color wheel you’d find in something like photoshop with infinite possibilities for your choice of the button light color. The button lights turn on when the dash lights come on and are off when the dash lights are off during the day. Google maps will work on its own but you need to download the specific maps for the areas or city you are driving in. It will not show you traffic or live events without being connected to internet of course. I have found the functionality using google maps without a phone connection flaky most times. When using the CarPlay function however google maps works flawlessly. The steering wheel controls wired directly without a interface box on my particular Mazda 5 works flawlessly with no issues. Not all vehicle models will work without a box. I have read some Mazda models need the box. So I just bought the cheap wiring plug harness from Amazon that said it included steering wheel controls and thought I’d try that first before spending money on a interface box. Took some digging online to find info on how to wire it as the Atoto includes a 3.5mm Jack plus two wires for steering wheel controls. a steering wheel + wire and a steering wheel - wire. On the harness plug I bought it had two brown wires for steering wheel controls. At first I thought it meant just connect the + and - wire to those and see if it works and if not just reverse them. Either way did not work then I found that different manufacturers use different types of signals for the controls so you need either the + or - wire depending on vehicle. The two brown wires on the harness I bought go to the vehicle’s steering control wire and the other is a ground. So you need to find out which one is which and connect either the steering wheel control + or - depending on the vehicle manufacturer to the vehicles steering wheel wire and the other from the harness that connects to your vehicle goes the the ground wire on radio. Then you just program the buttons using the Atoto SWC function. An important thing to note is the buttons will only be able to be programmed for one function. This is easy for volume up or down or track skip forward or back but in my Mazda the original phone button can only be programmed to either answer or hang up a call not both as it was with the original radio, as it’s only one button. Not a big deal since when a call comes in it appears on the screen with a answer and hang up button, So I just programmed mine for Siri. Thanks for watching

      Ok so the harness I used I got from Amazon Canada. It’s a Red Wolf part #MZD-W01. The description says includes wires for steering wheel controls. There is also another one part #MD-W01 that looks the same but doesn’t mention steering wheel controls in description. The photo of harness looks the same including the two brown wires side by side in the middle that are used. When I check Amazon USA only the Second part number one comes up. The one I bought MZD-W01 does not show up. I don’t know why they have two different models or if they are the same. Here is a link to the one I bought on Amazon.ca

    Love my A6-PF. Was a bitch to get the SWC and factory backup cam working. A company called Crux released an interface that made the connection easily. No need to splice into factory harness or solder. I love the Bluetooth tethering feature so i can use my cellphone as a wifi hotspot. I also like that i can hook in a hard drive full of videos and watch on the go. Lotta cool features on the unit.

      Congratulations on the truck purchase. Be sure to watch both videos I did on the two different ATOTO models I have. The video I did about the S8 standard model I go into lots of detail about all the features that are possible. This A6 model is the same but i focused on some of the different aspects so I wasn’t making the same video over again. Both have been great units. Thanks for watching.

      I'm about to get that Atoto S8 for my 1999 Chevy 3500. I saw a few refurbished units on Ebay.
      BTW, do you recommend the Atoto S8 standard or premium. And do you know what makes the premium "premium", like the differences ?
      Thanks for the continued top-notch content

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Год назад

      I think the difference between the standard and premium is that the premium has a SIM card slot on the back so you can internet on it automatically if you want to have for example certain widgets on the Home Screen like weather for example or be able to use apps that need a internet connection like RUclips without having to connect to your phones hotspot first. I don’t need any of that so the standard model or this A6PF that don’t have a SIM card slot is fine for me. If I need to connect to internet I just use my phones hot spot. If you use apple car play or android auto it is automatically using your phone’s internet anyway to power those so no extra steps needed. Not sure if the premium models have any other features. Possibly more ram and memory and input connections though. Thanks for watching.

    Me and the wife share a car with this head unit and find apple carplay works maybe 10% of the time. The concept of 2 different phones needing to connect depending on the driver apparently didn’t occur to Atoto.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Год назад

      I’ve got 4 drivers sharing the car and CarPlay works 100% of the time as long as I’m going into the Bluetooth settings and selecting the appropriate phone as I show in the video otherwise it will look for the last phone it was connected to. There was one time that even after manually selecting the phone CarPlay seemed stuck so I went to the task manager to close out the app completely then reopened it and it then worked fine. But that was a isolated incident. I would say it works just like my wife’s car and her factory radio. It automatically connects to the last phone. If you want to change drivers you have to manually tell it which phone then it will automatically connect to that phone each time. Same as the Atoto. Thanks for watching.

      I don't use "crapple". I use android. I have had issues getting android auto to connect properly. What works for me is if you go to the home screen on your radio, hit the square button to show the currently open apps and close all open connection attempt apps showing it should automatically try to reconnect and will be successful. It's like closing the open apps on your phone.

      Nope it’s been perfect and I’m just using the mic that’s built into the front of the head unit. The package also comes with an external mic you can optionally plug into the back and clip somewhere closer like your sun visor but I haven’t needed it. I initially ran the wire and have the mic on the dash but haven’t plugged it in. Thanks for watching.
