That's the way the collet was designed, it explains it in the direction book that came with the tool, but nobody seems to read anymore.☺️👍
EXACTLY! I drives me insane whenever 'tough guys' throw directions away, or have the 'I don't read instructions' attitude. Personally, I can't wait to read them, helps to learn everything about the tools, OFTEN I learn something I didn't previously know.

THOSE COLLETS ARE WONDERFUL and a PROFESSIONAL feature. (I maintained a fleet of 5196s which have them and they're ideal for rough industrial use.) I carry two open end wrenches on a small carabiner in my abrasive bucket for my 5196s and would do so for the M12. Once broken free if the shaft of your attachment sticks tapping it towards the tool will become second nature. Now if only Milwaukee would offer a cordless version of the 5196 the welding industry would buy many thousands...
RIGHT ON! Love the comment! The 5196 is a MONSTER! correct me If i'm wrong, I think it's 11 maybe 12 amp. They've got the tech almost matching or matching (depending on who you ask) corded grinders/recip saw power. Sounds like they're missing a big opportunity!
I've watched dozens of reviews on this tool. Yours is one of the best by far. From what I've gathered, you'll want to keep the air vents clear so the motor doesn't overheat. Once the motor(not the battery) overheats it really doesn't recover well and becomes permanently anemic.
Yes! I've had EXACTLY this happen to the M12 cut off saw. Beat up on it pretty good, everything clogged up. Took it apart to clean it well, was never the same after. Sticking with the Dewalt cut off tool since, gobs more power.

Ah just a standard dewalt organizer box, with the cups thrown away. Fastcap kaizen foam. The thickest they sell, I think it's 2" that's about it. I'll be doing a How To video very soon as i've got a few tools that need to go into storage boxes of their own asap.

Yup, hacked it myself too. Oh...without Amazon, I wouldn't know what to tell you other than you won't find Rolock disks at Home Depot/Lowes/Tractor Supply, MAYBE try Harbor Freight. EBAY and Amazon might be your only options
