    Best box tutorial, and I've even bought a couple... they all seem to have the same rickety construction lol, but yours seems sturdy & doesn't rely on wrapping cardstock to accomplish. Good job

    Hi Bobbie, this is a very nice tutorial, thank you. I make various boxes out of card stock. It started out as a hobby but I was also able to earn extra income by supplying a jewellery shop. I then moved onto chipboard because a prospective client wants a stronger box and in black. Now, Its not easy to get black board in my country so I learnt from another online tutorial how to cover the natural chipboard boxes with black paper. My first sample turned out great and it was a nice learning experience, but its so labour intensive! Since my client wants to order 160 boxes every 2 weeks your box tutorial might work best in this regard. If I use 1mm board will structure strips in 60 pound be strong enough? I will use a wood glue to hold the structure strips firm as my client does moulds of hands and feet of babies. Thanks again for sharing another fantastic way to make boxes. Cleopatra from Zimbabwe

      Hi, First of all thank you. You can also paint around the edges with black paint and cover the rest with solid paper or cardstock. Give me a little time and I will do a video showing you what I mean ok. Right now is not a good time for me. If you add glue along with tape. Then yes, it will hold just fine for your structure strips. Hope that helped. Hugs, Bobbie

    i love how you make your boxes. they don't waste cardstock or chipboard and they look so sturdy. what are the best magnets to buy for boxes. thanks Bobbie. hugs.xx

      Thank you Pearl. I save all my chipboard and use it as well as the cardstock. I buy my magnets from china on ebay. They are cheap and work well.. It can take up to 31/2 weeks to get them but, for 1/3 of the cost, who's complaining. LOL. hugs, Bobbie xx

    Nearly four years later and thank you for all of your tips and tutorial.
    One question though, and it is probably very obvious, but when you make the front flap, do you make that the way you would the bottom and sides instead of wrapping the front piece as you would if you were not going to add a flap?
    I really hope that makes sense.

    Hello Bobbie, just stumbled into this video, like it very much. Thank you. Just wondering how do you decorate the box with patterned paper, either card stock or scrapbook weight paper. Thank you. Linda

    • @BobbiesCreationsandMore
      @BobbiesCreationsandMore  4 года назад

      Linda Carreras Mostly with pattern paper. I also paint the box and use flowers, lace and bling on some of them. It is up to you how you want to decorate the box. Don't use a thin paper because it might tear the paper witH any type of liquid glue. Hope that helps. Thank you for the nice compliment. Bobbie

    How do you score your structure strip?

    • @BobbiesCreationsandMore
      @BobbiesCreationsandMore  4 года назад +1

      The structure strips are cardstock 1-inch strips. You score at 1/2 inch. You can use a scoreboard or a ruler and any type of scoring tool of your choice. I inch strips scored in half and add tape I/4, 3/8 or 1/2 inch tape and place along the edge od each side. I hope that helps!

    I love ur video Bobbie! I have dear friends that make jewelry & they have asked me to make them boxes for their pieces. I'm out of my league as I do cards. May I please request a video from u covering the box inside & out? I'm doing an actual lid as they do not want the flip top. They have already requested a couple of boxes as they r almost done with the pieces. Thank u in advance. Hoping u can do the video. Donna.
