I hope you enjoy :)
Can you do a sample of Mura Masa "Tough on you" ? Thanks
Bro, it's really hot! Because of this I decided to return to music, thank you so much
Man you got the best tutorials on youtube, only a matter of time untill you'll be one of the largest production channels on youtube. Keep it up my man and enjoy the holidays
ísleifur eldur Thank you! I really appreciate that :) For sure though, it's just a matter of time.
Hey man merry Christmas! Thanks again for all the new info covered in this. I do my stuff in FL studio but thanks to your detailed and clear tutorial, I feel like I understood how to translate that back to the DAW that im using. Its not an easy task at first but very rewarding nevertheless. I felt that I had to really understand the purpose of each step and how it would affect the sounds. Honestly I think my production skill has improved despite being quite new to this. I would like to really thank you for this. I look forward to all your tutorial each week man, it just makes my day! honestly best production channel in YT and highly underrated
Really appreciate this comment! Knowing that my content is helping others makes all this worth while, so thanks for sharing that! Translating information over to another D.A.W. can sometimes be tricky as the methods will differ slightly, but the principles stay the same. But I'm super glad you're progressing, let me know if you ever have any questions. Merry Christmas to you too :)
I just found your tutorials and I am in love!
I'd love a Sound Like on Flume.
There are already a lot of tutorials on here about Flume, I'll have to figure out a way not to just echo what's already been said. It will come though!
cant wait :)
Would LOOOVE a Sound Like Lido and/or Cashy Cat!!
Haha, both are on the list! I have so many artists to get through, but they will come out at some point :)
Dude, you're King Midas. All your tutorials are gold.
Best compliment I’ve ever received! Thank you 😄
@@BeatsbyVanity Came from the heart
good job this man! was hella informative :) was wondering which samplephonics pack the mura masa sample was from?
11
Hip hop crates and diggers I think
Quick question, do you have the full Ableton Live Suite or the Standard Edition?
thx vanity ! keep doing tutorials on producers like this !
For sure! Not stopping these anytime soon :)
Thank you so much for taking the time to make these. Very useful.
You're welcome, glad it helped :)
love the harp sound, where did you get it from?
Do you export and render yours songs on that master chain as a final product? Awesome videos btw!
Damn I love this one so much!
Thanks dude. Very good and clear tutorial
Quality stuff as usual! It looks like you can produce these beats/videos pretty quickly. How long does it usually take you to go from start to this? Got any good workflow tips?
Thank you! From an idea to a finished product, so the complete process takes me two full days. Workflow tips for producing? Yeah, make sure everything is easily reachable and organized. You need to be able to find the sounds you're looking for straight away, anything more hinders creativity.
BeatsbyVanityTV Thanks for the reply! Two days is pretty efficient. Do you separate the processes into sound design, arrangement etc?
You either want it or you don't, right? It's two days for the whole project so the video & track together.
The track will be the first day; I don't like to feel pressured or rushed when creating a record as nothing good ever comes from that. Truth be told, I probably spend the first 6 hours playing around and experimenting then the later 6 actually bringing it all together. Obviously you only see the finished product but there’s loads of stuff that doesn’t make the cut, both in the track and the video. The process of a track for me is usually just jamming for a few hours, recording little clips into the clip view on Ableton, not trying to create anything other than little ideas. Sound design/drum selection would come after, finding sounds to work with the ideas. There isn’t a set process though, it’s different every time. Arrangement would normally be near the end, when fitting together the different pieces of the puzzle.
There’s a point I want to stress though:
I’m a big believer in creating your own sounds, I often here the beat makers or wannabe producer complaining sound design is a chore and a nuisance which always makes be laugh. Sound design is part of being an artist, you want to be a good producer or artist? Mastery. You have to truly master ever part of your craft and today that’s become a prerequisite. I was speaking to a singer friend of mine about this the other day and was telling her: To be a great artist, you already have to be phenomenal singer, that goes without saying these days, what else are you phenomenal at as an artist? There’s a massive difference between a singer or musician and an artist. For me, that’s the biggest difference between a beat maker and a music producer.
great stuff, man, these are some of the best and more insightful tutorials around. is there any chance you could do a more trap-oriented tutorial? it's not something i'd usually ask for but i've been listening to travis scott's stuff lately and it just sounds lush, it's so well produced. anyway, thanks a lot for these
Thank you :) I appreciate the kind words. I'm always asking you guys what you'd like tutorials on, and then producing them around the top topics in order. I am more focusing on Producers, but I could put something together around the sound. I'll be covering Noah '40' Shebib at some point, so there may be some useful tips in there for you.
Yo that song is beautiful
Do sober rob or oshi. There styles are so chill and are becoming more and more popular.
Are most of those plugins default or 3rd-party? Especially the ones use on the master track, I've never seen them before o.O
All third party, their worth checking out though :)
Great video man! Are you thinking about doing a sound like Sam Gellaitry sometime?
Jack Johnston Thanks! I am though yes, I'm planning to do each Soulection artists separately!
Dude I was just about to ask the same! Hyena is such a mindfuckk.
Lido for sure
I concur!
Also, HEY BUDDY! :)
Thank you for the tutorial would it be possible to get a Ta Ku tutorial? Probably referencing Gurre Tuk remix.
Coming next week!
Oh my goodness thank you so much can't wait.
good stuff man
great work. subbed
Thank you!
hace un video estilo El Guincho porfavor! Saludos hermano estan tremendo los videos de Live.
Where do you find samples such as the one at 13:40 ? Thanks
Yo, what song is playing in the background at 04:00??
YESSSS
Happy Christmas man!
your thumbnail made me hink this was logic pro x
Haha, having a dark looking D.A.W. is a must!
Please do In The Style Of Kodak to Graph!
any chance of anything from tipper, marcus intalex, bryson tiller?
Bryson Tiller definalty!
Fanx for the lurvvv love doctor vanity, it's so cringey all the social networking sites copying each other's features though-.-
Does that mean you like my suggestions ?:)
Also anything 2step garagey drums would be hugely appreciated
Haha, it lets you guys know I saw your comment though, I appreciate that aspect. Marucs Intalex really isn't my style, I don't think I could really give you anything solid on him. I do not know of Tipper, but Bryson Tiller has been suggested a few times!
Hey can you make an ohbliv tutorial ?
Great vid. Can we get some Snakehips style?
For sure, would love to cover them actually.
ye I've collected a bunch of the early mura masa samples on my computer haha
I found them on reddit! I even have the one from this video.
What pack was it in? I couldn’t remember when questioned.
@@BeatsbyVanity I can't temember some guy collected them all and sent them to me its samplephonics for sure
The flute from his snake eater track is a sample too I believe
@@BeatsbyVanity Ye I found a bunch of flume samples from reddit too. If you just search their names on Noiiz (a splice alternative) you can download them all.
Thank you
You're welcome!
your demo song sounds almost identical to Floater by Juj
Do bonobo next!!
This sounds like a Flying Lotus beat
Thank you! I actually made this track for my Flying Lotus tutorial and changed it around for Mura as he used the sample.
flp pls, i didnt use ableton
you used the same track from Flying Lotus tutorial
As I said in the video, I've used the musical samples from the Flying Lotus tutorial as Mura Masa has previously used it so it just made sense. The drums and bass have been changed and I don't repeat any of the same information, plus I touched on sound design in Serum. I don't feel theres an using the same sample? As long as the information and presentation is fresh.
BeatsbyVanityTV Great tutorial,keep it up!
The mixing part is where the tutorial shines
Thank you :) Glad it was useful!
BeatsbyVanityTV Who is the next artist that you are going to do a tutorial about?
From 4:00 you just took me back to this
ruclips.net/video/QwLI4Anilgs/видео.html
not really mura masa sound IMO
