Thanks for sharing your set up. I invested in so many lights and glad I did, I've used them for years now and both t5 florescent and full spectrum led work great! My plants are so happy especially in winter when they tend to need more.
I really appreciate that you jumped right into the subject without uninteresting "into" talk. Your content was super organized and you spoke quickly, not testing my patience :))
I really appreciate your efforts, but probabily in a video about grow light you should talk about the type of light, like optimal power and spectrum of the light-bulbs/LEDs which should be used...
This isn't a grow light video. This is a Gardener's Supply commercial. I like Laura and her videos but she didn't use to make these kinds of videos and that really bums me out.
Actually after watching lots of youtube videos on grow lights hers was the only one that showed me different light system options. Every other video talked about the bulbs and didn't show me any examples. I was looking for exactly this type of video.
Thank you for this video, and thank you Google/RUclips for delivering it to me. I've been frantically trying to figure out what to do about my houseplants (I have quite a few and practically NO natural light), so seeing a range of what's out there all in one place was super helpful.
I have had the plastic parts break, crashing the lights down onto the plants. Go to home depot. Buy light weight chain, "S" hooks and pulleys big enough for the chain. Run the chain from the light, over the pulley, then use "S" hook to to link the chain end you pull to the chain end by the light. I have 8 foot ceiling and 10 foot chains so I can easily go 1ft from floor to 8 ft.I hook the chain end to a lower shelf if I go over 6ft so I don't have to stretch and reach.
@@gueto70 Ah, thanks for pointing out about the plastic parts, though I wonder if it should be fine for a 1.5 lb Feit 2' fixture. It did come with a couple short chains, but it's too short to hang from the ceiling. I did consider getting longer chains until I saw this rope pulley.
Just the video I was looking for! I'm in N.E. US and I was afraid my plants wouldn't make it through the winter if I waited to repot them. I also realize they need more sunlight than their normal resting place can provide. I've been moving them from area to area throughout the day to get them the light they need. They love it, but the lamp will definitely help.
Great options, I have only started a few years ago having house plants because I was just not accomplishing in keeping them alive but I was determined and now I own succulents, wondering Jew, spider plants and geraniums. I want to expand my collection with other types of plants and these lamps could be very helpful, thanks for sharing
Great presentation, it is very useful for beginner growers. Horizontal reflectors are always more efficient than vertical grow reflectors. T5 fluorescent lights are power efficient but don't really allow to grow plants with big light requirements. LED grow bars offer a better value for money nowadays.
I ordered the stack Grow Light system a few days ago.. Really excited to get it and try it out.. I just ordered the one shelf with the 2 lights.. If I like it I'll order more to add on to it.. I think it would be great for my starter Veg plants..
great video for new growers.anyone considering LEDs should read the nasa report on LED grow lights or the report from Phillips before spending a lot more than you need to on grow lights. been growing indoors with T5s for 5 years and love the results.
I built my own grow racks, I use T5 24" fixture 4 tubes. I replace the florescent tubes with T5 LED grow light tubes, the lights seem brighter, the balast is for 8000 lumens.
Like I said in your grow box giveaway video I just bought one of those clamp lights with a grow bulb. Mine is a size bigger than one you showed. I'm hoping I'm able to grow these 6 succulents successfully. Thanks for all the info you share.
Thank you for recommending the grow light system. I bought the Gardener's Supply Company LED Grow Light Stand, Heavy Duty 3-Tier with Plant Trays from Amazon. Its working out quite well. We assembled it on Dec 15 and now can see new leaf growth in the succulents.
Idea for update video regarding this concept....LED bulbs used in clamping light fixture. Less power consumption and if you find the right bulbs you'll have the perfect spectrum for indoor plant growth. also no need to worry about heat emission and burning the plants with LED lights
I would like your opinion on how to grow a vegetable and herb garden in an apartment that gets very little natural lighting. My only three windows are blocked by shade trees facing the east. Thanks.
Wow this really makes me want to get grow lights now! 😍 I seem to not have good success with indoor plants and I think one of the reasons is not enough light. That and my cat wants to chew on the leaves so I have to get creative on where to put them. I would love to see a house/ house plant tour! I love Gardeners stuff for things I cant find elsewhere. Lovely stuff but not cheap.
thanks for this great video. What are your thoughts on grow bulbs in regular lamps? I want to put some plants in places where I don't get direct sun. Do they work? Would they work in a lamp where the bulb is facing up and not directly on the plant like you showed with the clamping fixture. Thank you!!
I have the 3 foot unit. Corner light fixture mechanisms are very flimsy. Classic China. But the systems works. Will I buy more stack on units? I will have to do some soul searching first. Thank you for the info video.

Things that would help us really understand why XYZ light is better than ABC light fixtures.
