  • Should we use registry cleaners? well no, if cleaning registry is important then Microsoft should have made a registry cleaner but they didn't. For the most of the part Windows OS actually cleans registry very well...

    Extra Note : For the most part Windows will actually clean registry entries automatically but sometimes some registry entries of the uninstalled programs is not cleaned, for example the programs Installer registry entries information (not installed program itself), so basically Windows keeps some info about the program even after it is uninstalled (not all programs) or maybe it's the program leaving the footprints behind by tricking Windows (who knows).
    So why should we use Uninstaller Tools, well as I siad sometime Windows can't clean some registry entries so Uninstaller tool can actually clean those registry entries too and also cleans the files and folders left by program.
    If you look into my video closely where I'm cleaning Registry entries, you will see programs registry entries are in multiple places for example"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Tracing\BlueStacksHelper_RASAPI32,and other locations, so we can clearly see that Windows keeps programs info even after it is uninstalled.........

    The "if it was important Microsoft would make a tool for it" argument doesn't really make sense because they have a history of not making their own tool for things even when they are demonstrably necessary. It took them decades to make an antivirus tool just as one example.

      Also the argument that one shouldn't use registry cleaners because one doesn't exactly know how these programs work, is nonsensical. A lot of, if not all, applications work fine without me exactly knowing how they work. The point of having tools is precisly that we don't have to know exactly how it works, it suffices to know that they work.
      So yes, I regularly use a registry cleaner, but never before I make a backup of the registry as-it-is currently. And that works perfectly.

      In fact they do one program many years ago. The name is regclean and is portable. I have a copy of this program. It is very small and yes was made by Microsoft.

    My opinion is the same as yours. I enjoyed watching this video. Usually I do not use a registry cleaner, but the installer you recommended demonstrates that Windows doesn't remove all entries. Thank you.

    what is the reason behind slower running a program specially any graphic designing program such as sketchup pro 2022 with a rendering program such as Enscape? is it running slow due to poor performance of processor or RAM. I myself believe that it is usually due to registry filled of entries. In my case I have 3.2 Ghz processor and 12 GB RAM What is your opinion?

    Just press F5 to refresh registry editor. Some reg cleaners are better than others. Using them doesn't slow down your system. And others make backups prior to changes which is good if you know how to restore them. If you don't clean the registry out. Your system will be slower. Every time the computer is rebooted or a user logs on. Hives are loaded. If the hives become bloated. It will take longer to load. Reg cleaners do make sense if you know what is going on.

    • @The_Digital_Samurai
      @The_Digital_Samurai Год назад +2

      @Teddy Cleaning the registry cleans hive performance. Anyone who has loaded one or programmed an application properly knows this. The two books Winternals 1 & 2 cover this and how to spot troublesome areas. Reg cleaners are not as effective as they were under Win XP or Win 7 is true. Mostly because of MS adoption of Linux based architecture. But even Linux requires cleanup of applications from the libraries.

    • @The_Digital_Samurai
      @The_Digital_Samurai Год назад +1

      @Teddy Forgot to mention MS is actually publishing a new app soon that does what reg cleaners are supposed to do. I believe it's called Performance Tool and will be available in the store.

      Even if ytou don't know what exactly is going on.
      Computer starts slower -> use registry cleaner -> computer starts (significantly) faster. Hence: Registry cleaner makes sense
      That is all I need to know.
      And I agree: As the registry is of key importance for Windows to work correctly, please make a backup before changing the registry, either with, or without a registry cleaner

    I do agree… although I’ve used Norton registry cleaner on and off for many years and never had an issue. Also, once in a while I’ll notice some entries of a deleted program in registry… so I use “find” to search for entries of that program and delete them. Maybe that can be dangerous…but again, I have never had an issue doing that. I will say, it is wise to make a backup of the registry just in case, which I plan to do going forward.

    Windows isn't pro-consumer. They don't add important add-ons. Only pointless telemetry bloat. Just because Windows doesn't make their own registry cleaner, doesn't mean cleaning your registry isn't important.
