FAQs??
-How many squares do I need for a baby blanket?
This can vary, it really can be however big or small you like, but i generally do 4x4 or 5x5.
This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
-How many chains shall I do for a *single/double/etc' blanket?
Again, this can vary. I would suggest that you do your chain and lay it down agains the bed you are wanting it for. It should be the same width. You should then ad a few more to make it a little wider.
This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
-How much yarn do I need?
Unfortunately, I will not be able to answer individuals questions about how much yarn you would used do to multiple factors affecting it. Such as, your tension, the size of hook and the yarn being used.

Thank you for the great tutorials you do. I've just started crocheting again after 20 years. The only thing I had ever done was a granny square, and I couldn't remember how to do that. I've only been crocheting again for a few weeks, but thanks to your video's my skill is increasing rapidly. I'm doing and making things I never thought I would be able to. Thanks again, keep up the good work.👍
Hi. Have finally made this and am so pleased with the result. Thank you. You are so clear in your instructions and video equally clear. Amazing. Thank you again.
I made a blanket for this square and it is a lovely pattern. Really easy once you get into it
Love your tutorials. I have learnt so much by watching your videos.😊
can't wait to start this. Once again you make it look so easy. Thank you
I did it! I love your tutorials! you made this much easier than I expected it to be! thank you!
I fell in love with the willow square on Pinterest and so happy to find a video for it. Love all of you videos. I made mine a little different the last 2 rounds I did one a single crochet round and the other a half double round and then did a back post stitch around to make it a little more 3d lol but I love the 3d look! Thank you again for all your hard work on bringing us these free tutorials
I made my square last night which came out beautiful. You are a good teacher!! I also bought the book!! thanks!! Your square also came out beautiful with your color combinations!!!! Have a good day!!!

First want to say I love your videos, detailed and easy to follow, your always the first I turn to when wanting to start a new project. Second I would really love if you could please make a video on the flat braid join. I'm finding it hard to follow, but really love the way it looks. Thank you in advance. ❤🧶

I didn't see the link for the book. Thank you. Oh, and you did an awesome job! TY
You are very welcome and the book can be purchased via Amazon :)
Hi excellent tutorial Did you Make a half willow
How big did the square turn out ?
Lindo ‼️‼️‼️
Hi, can anyone tell me the size of the finished square? I'm looking for a square that is 6 inches when finished. It's a lovely pattern and Sarah Jane's videos are always so clear
Looks like the book is no longer available on the website you provided :'(
Hi, do you do this in left handed ?
Hi Bella can u get the book for me we can’t get here in Australia
What size are the completed squares, if using the same yarn and hook? Thanks!
I would like to know that too.
We’re can I get book links not working
Hello! I love your work! I made my first baby blanket with your video! I am interested in getting the book that you got this pattern from. Where could I order it?
Never mind, I wasn't looking hard enough
Your links to the book and the polka dot scissors do not work. I just thought you might like to know. It seems as though the other links work just fine. I like those stork scissors :) I may have to just get me a pair! :) Thanks for your great videos.
I really would like to know how to crochet the beautiful border. I didn’t see the name of the book. Thank you for this tutorial.💕
Could you use 4 ply?
this looks beautiful!
Another newbie question: is this one of a billion granny square variants or is this just an afghan square?
are the terms granny square and afghan square pretty much the same thing just different ways of saying it?
or, is a granny square - though it has many variants - a specific type of square based on something in particular such that a granny square is an afghan square but an afghan square isn't necessarily a granny square?
I want to understand things like that so I get a broader grasp on the vastness that is apparently crochet! ;)
vegangelist a granny square is a sort of square you would make to give to your grandma to sew together
afagans are bigger
I love this Willow Square. Could you please instruct how to join them? I wanna make a blanket.
You can join them in the same way as you would solid granny squares - I have a video tutorial here: ruclips.net/video/6INNQBX4cpo/видео.html 😊
Can I do a magic circle instead? I never get it right with foundation rings :(
I'm just like you! Magic circle works just fine. I almost never do the chain + skip stitch.
Hi have you removed the printable pattern for this hit link and it doesn't seem to be there any more
I don't believe I provided a link to a printable pattern for this one as it's from a book called 200 crochet blocks xx
Hello!! I am fairly new to crochet and I find your videos very easy to follow even though I am in America and use the American crochet terms, I thank you for making it very clear what to do..... I do have a question for you or anyone willing to answer, why does mine look like a bowl!? I thought maybe it was because my stitches were too tight so I loosend them. I've even used a bigger crochet hook and they're all curling up into a bowl shape! Help! Lol 🤣
You're welcome, I'm glad you've found my tutorials helpful 🙂 What yarn is it that you're using? I've found that acrylic yarn in particular is prone to curling up, whereas cotton tends to lie nice and flat. You can block the squares once they're finished and that should sort it 🙂
How many skeins to make a decent sized rug please ?
I’m going Show it when I finished it on Facebook and how is your little baby girl
Would love a written pattern for this square. Cannot find it anywhere. And the book is now out of print. Am making notes in my notebook for the stitches for each round in my crochet notebook for me to follow along.
I think the book is still available on Amazon :)
Any chance of an actual link to the book mentioned? All the links are YOURS...but you said you would leave a link to the book you used to show the pattern...well I don't see it 🤔
I have this book in german. The name is "200 Häkel Ideen"
Can I make this as a shawl please and how r u and ur baby daughter and what her name please
How big is the finished square please?
What weight in US terms is dk yarn?
I am not sure the name, as I am not American, but I see no one has answered this yet so I thought I would try and help. As far as everything I have read in my grandmothers old crochet instruction book as well as the internet about yarn weights, it looks like DK can also be called 'Lightly Worsted' and is considered a Category 3 (light weight) yarn. So not something super fine or baby weight (Category 2) and not something quite as heavy as Worsted or Afgan weight (Category 4) either but the in between weight. My Grandmother used to also call Light Weight yarns, 'Shawl Yarn' or 'Doilee Yarn' but I don't think those an 'official' terms LOL.
The link says the book isn't available there anymore just to let you know x
Oh thank you. I’ll try and remember to change it x
I agree that the link does not work. I did manage to get a second-hand copy of the book from Abe Books, but I wonder if it is out of print as it was not available from my usual online bookshop.
I got my copy of the book from Amazon.uk.com tday
how do we get to the other 3 parts?
+Sheila Mulvey Sorry, they were all scheduled to come out at the same time, but this one published two hours early for some reason! They are all live now :)
There is a US version of this book. I have it. My favorite pattern book.
+MrJazzNStuff Oh thats good to know :)

Where can you get this book at in the US ?
Please provide resource for the US version of this book. Thank you.
Where to buy the book in Australia
Mary, I am in New Zealand and I purchased it from.....www.bookdepository.com/ it took 2 weeks and was on special for 18 nz dollars. All free postage too. Check it out there are many more available too.
tuathadenan have u got Facebook profile I can had u has a friend
How can we join these 2 willow square together
You could sew or crochet them together; holding the two squares with their right sides facing each other, simply sew or make double crochets (UK terms) through each stitch along. Another method would be to slip stitch through the back loops of each stitch: this gives a nice invisible join. If you have a practise with each method you will find out which one you prefer. Hope this helps 🙂
@@bellacococrochet thank u dear for ur reply 😘I appreciate

Is there a written pattern, I can't find one ,

ruclips.net/video/0sbAHfyeLXo/видео.html
I am confident that these will work :)
Please give me the written instructions or book link
I don't have the written instructions - I had the necessary permission from the publishers of 200 crochet blocks to produce this tutorial :)
What does treble + a chain mean at 4:19
It means that the chain four counts as one treble stitch plus one chain stitch :-)
Where do I find written pattern
I don't have a written pattern as it was from the book 200 crochet blocks. Please note, I have had the necessary permission from the publishers of 200 crochet blocks to produce this tutorial :)
can you use a "H" hook?
The hook size depends on the yarn, not the pattern 🙂 If you look on the band of the yarn you're using it should state which size hook to use 🙂
Why won’t my AirPods connect to my iPhone 7+
