There is just so much intensity in this song. That proves that you don't need to growl or scream or talk about gore to be truly heavy.

Fates Warning is such a great band. I got to see them play in concert with Queensryche and Dream Theater in the late 90s. That was a concert to remember! :)

Im a Fates Warning Fan since 1985! Fates Warning was in the eighties on absolut outstanding band, because of two facts: The excellent songwriting - the song is always the most important thing and not the techniquel side. And of cause: John Arch. There has been no singer in rock genre like him since this days. Both parts, songwriting and Arch makes this band to a unique monument in rock/metal history.

I can agree with you because i've seen DT 3 times. In 2000, 2002 and 2005. They played very good but didn't sound good enough! Also seen FW in 2007 and their sound quality was amazing!

    Cheers!

Queensrÿche formed in 81, Fates Warning in 83. Listen to Queensryche's eponymous 1983 EP, out a year before Fates Warning's first release.

@TheMetalmonger I have heard, many record co's give contracts to bands just to shelf them so they do not compete with bands of the same audience. I love QR or Geoff Tate, could have used to have been exposed to FW back in the day just diddnt know about them. I do now and am a big fan.

Yes Ray Alder and Geff Tate voices are operatic. What do you think about Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden. His and Ray's sounded the same. Bruce can sing a pitch higher. But more of a runchy sound.
