I have had this song stuck in my head for 2 weeks after not hearing it for 20 years. It is driving me crazy!
Me too 😎😎😎🤩🤩
There is just so much intensity in this song. That proves that you don't need to growl or scream or talk about gore to be truly heavy.
can't believe its this amount of years since i heard it first...........still & forever a great song........
Fates Warning is such a great band. I got to see them play in concert with Queensryche and Dream Theater in the late 90s. That was a concert to remember! :)
Ray's voice flows like a musical instrument ever note is pitch perfect. Damn I really miss this type of talented musicians.
Thins song will live through the years untouched by trends and directions... As it did for 20 years now... it's full of emotion and that is why it remains so special...
thanx so much for sharing this brilliance!!!!
Awesome band!!!!
Fabulous technical music.
this song has the most sensible lyric of all the rock/metal(any genre) songs ...im glad i know this band ....awesome
all three have vocals that bring chills, amazing bands, some of the best singers, ever

Still listening to this album in 2018 and got it the day it was released
I love this song!
Great song!
Very underrated bunch of fellows!! I really enjoy the bass player, Dibass.
Esse cara tem uma voz maravilhosa!😍 Addictive voice 😁❤👍👌
Una de sus mejores canciones...
its like a sculpter meeta a poem meets metal, truly bad ass in every sense
one of the best progressive metal songs and clips
excellent song from an excellent band
great song!
great song
awesome song,awesome band nuff said
Frank has been back in Fates for the last two tours. Bernie now plays in Redemption, along with Ray.
One of my favorites Heavy Metal Bands since the 80's...
awsome!
With FATESWARNING I have a real feeling and hard realization of metal. I have it , they have given me a gut burning, no doubt. I will and forever give this to FATESWARNING~ GOD bless you for sharing to all of us this METAL !! GOD bless you ! I love the feeling I receive hearing it !
fkn love this band!!!!
A masterpiece of FW
Great song!
This is one of the most underrated bands ever.
Totally agree with all aspects of that statement.
AAH!!!!! LONG TIME!
Great Band
Damn this is defiantly an underrated band!
This song kicks ass.
I remember being the first in town to get No Exit. Hell, I was the ONLY one. So many of my friends don't know who these guys are. Their music has always been close to my heart...
Other times! Greats songs...
Fates Warning kicks ass. I agree with everyone. Now performer's don't need to be able to sing, autotune. Ray would never. He's got one of the best metal voices ever. FATES FOREVER!
Awesome!!! Still have this on cassette:) They were even better live ( seen them in '94, on a double bill with Dream Theater )
SLAYER!
The previous singer you talk about,John Arch.He put out a solo cd a few years ago called twist of fate buy it you will love it.
Best song from Fates Warning , impressive.
Wow this sounds great! It's like Queensryche + Pyramaze, I love it =)
Awesome! Going to see Fates at the Avalon in Hollywood on 3/19/10 performing Parallels in it's entirety! Can't wait!
So how was it
Great band at its peak. Maybe the best progressive act ever. A singer from out of earth and lyrics that twist the knife in the wound
What a Guitar Solo :D
Geert Joachim you won't find a Bad solo from Frank aresti
This album released in "Q Sound" was simply spellbinding with headphones on!!!!
One of the best bands ever......
Mark Zonder! What a beast of a drummer!
I totally agree
just killer ,,This Band is one of the best ever ....
wow...i been listening to this band for 20 + years...todays "metal" bands will never have that type of holding power
A friend of mine in High School got me into them with No Exit. It was like Queensryche with a more Metallica vibe. That album will always be a favorite of mine. Alder was new to the band...Hard to believe that was 20 years ago.
look thru my playlist, I try to save what I rem of bands I can find here.
Have saved some old videos that I have from Mtv and the oter channels that played this kind last century. Vh1 still play some late at night here in Europe fridays.
So what I find of links here on youtube and on my old tapes I out on my palylists.
Im a Fates Warning Fan since 1985! Fates Warning was in the eighties on absolut outstanding band, because of two facts: The excellent songwriting - the song is always the most important thing and not the techniquel side. And of cause: John Arch. There has been no singer in rock genre like him since this days. Both parts, songwriting and Arch makes this band to a unique monument in rock/metal history.
I have everything these guys have done. Even with their previous singer they ruled completely. When I hear, especially this stuff, I think of what Kansas would sound like with a bit more in your face.
I can agree with you because i've seen DT 3 times. In 2000, 2002 and 2005. They played very good but didn't sound good enough! Also seen FW in 2007 and their sound quality was amazing!
One time I went into KGB radio San Diego! I had a bad radio demo! So I said I'll play this! If you play this Fates warning for me! We played both bands? I Love Fates warning! The best prog hard Rock!
All bow please...Mark Zonder...no words..just music..!!!
@Snyderman41104 hes just a quiet guy,but a great bassist!!!
John Arch and Alder both are awesome man can't comparing!I think comparing is silly!As far as Mark Zonder is concerned he is awesome but so is Mike Portnoy he is no show off he is very creative and so is Mark Zonder I respect them both!Both Fates Warning and Dream Theater both are amazing bands!
Cheers!
Enjoy the music!
Both of the frontmen has that operatic sound.
Genius.
good call dude
ray alder is metal hes just very smooth like butta his voice that is
@SavatageOrDeath: I will give you my thoughts and review regarding the show this Fri 3/19. I'm sure they will be awesome! Let me know if you want to know the set list and I'll post it.
So how was it
@MandyJosiFan
Queensrÿche formed in 81, Fates Warning in 83. Listen to Queensryche's eponymous 1983 EP, out a year before Fates Warning's first release.
@breathingreflection
Point being MandyJosiFan was pretty much saying (or at least implying) that Fates Warning were older than Queensryche. They aren't
drummer has a good techniqe,,,,,the way they should be played!
@Headbanger9000 -His Name Is Frank Aresti
Yes. I do remember Don Dokken. Speaking of Dokken, What he's doing now? Have not heard from him.
@MandyJosiFan i thought Queensryche and Fate's Warning started around the same time? year wise.
I can hear everything clearly.
this band rulz!!!!! metal !!!!!
@TheMetalmonger I have heard, many record co's give contracts to bands just to shelf them so they do not compete with bands of the same audience. I love QR or Geoff Tate, could have used to have been exposed to FW back in the day just diddnt know about them. I do now and am a big fan.
hailz to fates warning////long live heavey metal!!!
@MandyJosiFan and what about Savatage?
the guitar during the chorus is fucking killer.
have you heard lethal? also very good band
yeeeeaaahh!!!! but not in the mood now lol crocked cross!
both queensrÿche and fates warning are fucking great bands, there is point in arguing that. they ruled the scene in the late 80´s and start 90´s, lucky me I´ve seen both bands live ;-)
This album is 2 years late. With the right mngmt it would of sold a few mill
@abatzkon ray was the bestdude I ever met IM from texas thry rule here
@vindude1968 I still cannot believe that i will see them live in 10 days...26/3 Thessaloniki,Greece
Caught up in our convictions we forget
How our senses distort things we see
Queensryche + talent = Fates Warning
@DawnPatroler haha, I wish I had his voice!
Yes Ray Alder and Geff Tate voices are operatic. What do you think about Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden. His and Ray's sounded the same. Bruce can sing a pitch higher. But more of a runchy sound.
Love Fates Warning,Love the older Queensryche.....the new Arch/Matheos sounds like old school Fates, as well it should with all the band members former Fates Members
@nedzodildozer Yes.
@LouisLeGros Point?
SIIIIIIDE BY SIIIIIIDE!!!!....DIVIIIIIDED!!!!!!
Jim Matheos was the first guy I ever saw use a Paul Reed Smith--in this video actually. I was more fascinated with Frank's "more Metal" Jackson at the time, though.
The verse is in 10/8. When was the last time you heard that meter?
@WFKTHETHIRD Not both, but all three singers!
