Wow, this video was phenomenal! Fantastic video and audio quality, and just all-around superb. The fact that it starts with something so nostalgic (Blockbuster) to only further enforce more nostalgia with film was awesome. My first job was at a photography store so I used to shoot in film, and open up the film canisters to feed into a machine to develop the film. Good times. Awesome video again man!
Happy you liked it. That's going to be the focus of my next video.
Wow, Jonathan I was really touched by this video. So many memories of sharing part of your childhood and picking up movies in Burbank. Great job!
Thanks! So happy to share this with you
Fantastic video. I could see that you had a big emotional connection to the place which was wonderful to see. Some amazing shots taken as well.
Thank you! It did hit me harder than I expected. It was definitely a large part of growing up for me.
Such nostalgia. Growing up in the 90's this definitely brings back loads of memories. Keep it up!
Thanks! Amazing to be able to physically visit a place that really doesn't exist anymore.
Awesome video! All of the nostalgia 😩😩😩
So very nostalgic. Glad you liked the video!
Great video….the trip down memory lane was awesome!!! Keep up the good work.
Thanks! Appreciate the support
Ahh, the good 'ol days of hunting the isles of Blockbuster and waiting next to the returns for you flick to come in. I wish there was a Last Wherehouse music, Last Big Ben, and especially a Last Music Plus, but there is a Last Tower (sorta) Maybe you should vlog that Sunset location?
I totally remember wherehouse music! Sad to see the era of physical media slowly disappear.
Hell yeah dude! So damn nestalgic!
Hugely nostalgic
I remember shooting manual film, I do prefer digital in raw nowadays though.
Can't argue with the results, but I do really find it cool that I'm capturing images purely with a chemical reaction, no electricity at all.
Good video. Found your video on the reddit post.
That was quick! Glad you liked it.
@@AdultsHaveToysToo please keep explaining and uploading your video
It was never a hassle for me due to working there for a while & it being right up the street. I also remember renting Pokemon Snap & they hadn't put it on the shelf yet (before I worked there). Needless to say the employee was shocked I knew it was out.
Very good analogy about film vs blockbuster being rose tinted. Not better or worse, just different & with its own quirks.
I remember the Pokémon Snap kiosks that let you print your photos from the cart. Awesome you worked there.
I does seem that we don't appreciate things until they are gone, but then we tend to overstate how much we appreciated it just because it is gone. I'm not sure I would go to Blockbuster much even if it did come back since the world is a different place now, but I really enjoyed being able to experience this.
@@AdultsHaveToysToo I've thought up the theoretical idea of combining all of someone's streaming subscriptions into a VR Blockbuster setup using something like Unreal Engine, so you could "walk" the store & pick movies off a shelf. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any documentation on how to integrate the API of streaming services with a game engine. It makes sense, but is a bit disappointing.
FYI I dropped you an email if you get a chance please reply. I don't know if we'll be in your area but driving that direction today. Been fun with the kids and drone so far exploring stuff off of Google maps 😎
Oh, I see that, I'll reply back
@@AdultsHaveToysToo thanks!
