  • This is what I do to prep the tubes we cut at Bend-Tech for TIG welding. Check out the tool I put together with some scrap parts to make the process very easy and fast.
Check out all the tools I use at www.ntdracing....

Fun stuff! This is so much more interesting than most of the race shops who have a nearly unlimited budget. I have a strong hand tools table like yours, I smile every time I see one because it just makes life so much easier, I'm going to share your channel with a friend who has done and loves off road racing.

Nice. Badass tool! You can put a clamp on the drill and run it to a variable speed foot pedal .

Nice work Dave I've been watching you for a while and just saw where you said you're a pilot. I'm a retired DHL 727 guy myself with fab aspirations!

Thanks for sharing the tips! Enjoy watching your videos.😊.like the wheel set up for spinning the tubes but a lathe works well also or welding positioner.

Most shops use a tubing sander also called a pipe polisher. You can even buy an attachment for your regular angle grinder to turn it into one.

I'm curious as to why you didn't use the "Slot and Tab feature" that bend tech has to offer when you cut out the frame?

I like it. I had an idea for the classic "X" where you weld two angle irons back to back and that gives you an "X". My idea was to cut some slots in the sides of the "X" in order to allow the pipe to roll. Same basic effect, but an "X" block you can move around to wherever you want and you can rotate it and weld on different spots. Kinda like these, but I was going back to back to make an X instead of a W ruclips.net/video/pd2tcGyKjMU/видео.html
I just started looking at getting rid of mill scale and like the idea of swimming pool acid. The only downside is storing it. I never knew just how important it was to get mill scale off and using most wire brushes don't get it off, I didn't know that. You can have shinny mill scale:

ruclips.net/video/3EHNkt-LPLw/видео.html. This is how I remove mil scale. Might not work as fast as acid, but seems safer.
