  • I use the CrossFire XR to cut 1/4 plate steel to build the frame side mounts for Lefty's 4 link suspension. I show you how I use Crawlpedia's 4 Link Calculator, Bend-Tech, and Fusion 360 to dial in the design and cut the parts.

I use a 0.020” shock valving shim for the “extra space” when I make welded pockets. After the welds cool and contract the fit is usually perfect. Love your videos!

Awesome work! I designed and fabricated my own long travel kit with your tips on the crossfire pro. I am always learning something from your videos.

Love it Dave ! My son( 26) has been doing some fab out of my space and he has a down payment on a XR machine but I am still looking at your comparison on the Pro vs XR machine . Also we have very little space until we decide to take the additional overhead expense to get a shop or secondary garage space. I think we could enhance the pro with fence to index sheets through without needing that pointer you did in the past. Also as far as indexing on length, that can be done off the front end of the sheet VS attempting to eyeball the torch position (similar to a press break stop). A length indexing stop bar could be attached to the table. DROs are cheap as well if someone wanted to get fancy shifting a plate stop FW to an exact # running it true to Y axis using an an aligned fence. Great work and thanks for sharing, K

I agree. The pro and XR cut quality seem to be the same…really good. It comes down to budget, shop size and what you need it to do. Both are great options.

When I worked with plasma cutting my boss would nest start, so it cut small off cut material first so not to get movement in plate if that makes sense.
Have just started watching your videos, enjoying them.
Must be great to have gear and knowledge to create items like this.
I work for an Agricultual Equipment design/manufacture outfit in Australia as fab/welder making rotary hoes, macadamia nut harvesters. We get all our parts cut off site.

To draw a Tangent From Line in fusion after clicking a point on the circle or arc that you want to draw from hold down the "Shift" key and it will hold the line tangent to that first circle. Then drag to the point you want to end at.

Man if i had the money for the crossfire Xr and some time to learn cad I’d quiet my 9-5 18$ hr job if it was so expensive in mass to start a business

Check out the pro if you are looking enter at a low price point. If you are good at the finding clients and the sales part, the learning CAD/CAM part is easy. Just need to dedicate some of your spare time to learn and practice.

Hello great work was wondering what kind of computer are you using I also purchase an XR I'm in the process of putting it together on my spare time

I have an older laptop that I purchased off of the returns rack from Best Buy. Think I paid $400. I usually just just the XR touch screen unless I am trying to screen record, then I plug in the laptop. Both work well. I may have a little more confidence in my laptop.

Will have to measure when I get home, but around 3’x6’. Bought it second had from a welding store that had it on display. Love it.

Love your channel, been watching since I found you CFPro indexing video. BTW: You don't have to move your parts to normalize them for cutting. When you do a setup, you can reset the coordinate system. Essentially the model orientation has nothing to do with the machining orientation. ruclips.net/video/xHsBKSrwHSg/видео.html

To much anti squat and your suspension won't work under acceleration. So you want pro squat and dive in a trophy truck.
