This is one of the best BT videos I have came across. From taking the original measurements, adding them to the program and creating final assembly. Great job on the video.
Good build. Bend tech is great. Kind of a frustrating learning curve but well worth it. Truck is looking great. Should have put a front differential in your truck if you hope to keep up with Robby's AWD. Good stuff keep going.
I wonder if this guy realizes how smart he is..? He is using procedures and tools that it would take a few days to learn never mind perform the work he is doing. Way to go bro. Amazing. Keep up the good work and content
I'm glad you addressed the rotation issue on the cutting wrappers. I LOVE BT Pro...but, this is one of my pet peeves about it. It seems intuitive that it would index off of the line you create for the rotation on the bends for an out of plane section. The rotational information is already there. I ruined a couple of pieces of tube when I first started using BT until I wrapped my head around the way the cutting wrappers work lol. I assumed I had made a mistake on the first attempt, and did the exact same thing on the second one lol. Then I actually talked to them, and they explained it to me. DOH...I've got it now, but it was sure confusing in the beginning. I still think it would make more sense to just use a line...you have to have an index point anyway if there is any rotation to your part. Excellent video btw!
awesome build, I really like your digital angle finder holder. i have the same one but don't have a fancy 3d printed mount for it to sit in. any chance you could upload your drawing file?
Any chance you would share your STL file for your angle finder holder? I love watching your videos, so well explained, and motivating for sure. Keep up the great work
Waiting on this man !!! Great progress on your build ! I am currently building a buggy and let me Tell you suspension geometry its a bitch ! But you give me motivation to keep working on it !!
ruclips.net/video/MFmNnAmnqnY/видео.html. I show how to import on this video. Have not tried to cut from the imported file. Would love to know if you get that to work.
Awesome video, and great tips! also, what tube bender was that and how did you set it up (I mean did you bolt it to the floor? It didn't look like it, but I was going to get one and didn't now where I would bolt it down.
I have a really good notcher. It does not give near the capability of BendTech and a angle grinder. I always double protect the eyes and cover everything else. I have discs come apart all the time.
How does this channel not have 50-100k subs?? So well presented and edited
Because only people who are super hardcore come across this stuff... This isnt for the average tech. Solid videos
I'm wondering the exact same thing.

Thanks. Just got the truck back from some desert testing. Videos out soon.
May I ask...Which version of Bend-Tech do you use ?

My gosh this would have made my life so much easier when I built my two car chassis’.
awesome stuff. Can you output the pipe into some sort of cad model to then give to someone to laser cut the ends before you bend?

With the paper cuts, couldn't you lazer cut them?

A lot of really good stuff here. Thanks dude.
Nice video... Subscribed I'm in Thailand
How about a quick shot of spray paint over the paper ends to mark your cuts ?
That is a great idea. Might try it with some white primer. Thanks.
nice vid!

Thanks. only 27 Days to be ready for Tech Inspection for the Baja 1000. Not much time to waste.
Have you thought about using a vinyl cutter for the knotching patterns? They are cheap and being CNC makes cuts repeatable.
I have a vinyl cutter, but I am not sure it would save any time. Making the paper templates is tedious, but easy enough.
Nice man I had bend tech for a while and still don’t understand pick points Or how to calibrate the bender I have a jd2 model 3
What gauge tube do you use?
Nice job on this build so much attention to detail. Did you have any engineering background
Thanks. I studied mechanical engineering in college.
You don’t know how else you could get those joints tight? Lol the way we’ve done them for years. Nice build though.👍🏽
Can we import bend tech file to sheetcam or fusion 360 to cut with cnc rotary plasma ?
ruclips.net/video/MFmNnAmnqnY/видео.html. I show how to import on this video. Have not tried to cut from the imported file. Would love to know if you get that to work.

Im from Tijuana but can help in some mile are you runing 250 baja
Get a little vinyl cutter and use sticker vinyl for your templates
I thought about that, but I think paper is a good option. It makes it easy to adjust on the tube if needed. Have you tried the vinyl? How did it work?
@@ntdracing no, just an idea. I saw you were sliding the templates up the tubes. You could probably cut paper on a vinyl cutter just fine, too
Love the angle cube holder, would you care to share the STL file?
You bet. I will see if I can post it on www.NTDRacing.com. Will let you know when I do. You can PM me there too.
@@ntdracing thanks I sent you a message through your website.
When do we get a shop tour?
Maybe a little in the next video. Will probably talk mostly about final prep for the race.
Is the tubing u used dom or 4130?
I use DOM.
What bend tech pack are you using?
Bend-Tech 7x Pro version 07.12.06
Hi dave great videos like to be your chase team
“Let’s talk safety”… no guard on the cutoff wheel LOL! Why not just get a notcher?
I have a really good notcher. It does not give near the capability of BendTech and a angle grinder. I always double protect the eyes and cover everything else. I have discs come apart all the time.
