** Plot
Opposing Force returns to the same setting as Half-Life, but instead portrays the events from the perspective of a U.S. Marine, one of the enemy characters in the original game. The player character, Adrian Shephard, is sent in to neutralize the Black Mesa Research Facility after a scientific mishap causes it to be invaded by aliens, but quickly finds that the Marines are outnumbered and slowly being beaten back by a second alien race and black operations units.
** Notes
The Steam version is the closest to the original that I could find, although the initial menu and loading screen are different.

Man, I've always felt this game needs a sequel.
+P4INKiller It would be great to see Adrian Shepard again.... and also Race X.... even if it's just one chapter or a mention.

That's the way it should be. Whenever I see the title "let's play" I steer clear, knowing there will be some idiot distracting you with stupid jokes and fustration in the game. The gameplay itself should do the talking.
What do you mean...the things I was saying about how the gameplay should do the talking, or the reasons I avoid most of them?
.....and distracting you with dumb jokes and yelling and going off topic and etc etc. It's why I avoid most of them. I only watch game play videos where the game play itself is center stage and does the talking for me.
And please don't recommend any "let's players" to me.

Believe me, I played this game A LOT, and this is an amazing walkthrough. That amazing run in the underground starting at 29:20 is simply too good.

No, but in Episode 3 the G-Man leaves Gordon behind and takes Alyx instead.
Legend has it that Corporal Shephard still has a further evaluation pending.
I love the original half life and both opposing force and blue shift.

+Zeko Murati when you meet engineer and shotgun soldier in opfor ( friendly fire part ) they says, forget about freeman, we got to save our own asses. Second, when you meet with medic, medic says, Shephard what the hell were you doing down there? Listen, we need to get our asses down to the extraction point near Lambda sector. With any luck we’ll even get a shot at Freeman on our way out. Now this transit system should take us there but the door is sealed up pretty tight. Jeez, where is an engineer when you need one?
Shepard isn't killing any humans in black mesa but that was because he was the first squad that went there,The other squads are now commanded to kill any one (Except friendly soldiers).

You are right. One criticism of this dlc is that it doesn't reward you for your weapons enough. You hardly win then you just get them and hardly use them.

4 years late but,I don't think so. The marines are not seen again at HL2 and shepard probably never left the military

You are being a coward,you let your single armed friends to fight against an heavy hostile and let them die.
You'd think that a corporal would have all of the skills from the training session already as there are three ranks before corporal and it's pretty basic stuff. That is, unless they're just patronizing him because he's new to the unit.

It makes for an unnecesary large arsenal in my opinion.
both are good expansion games, Opposing force is a bit longer than BLue shift and in my opinion is better, more weapons, enemys y final boss on it.

here's something i don't get...i can understand wanting to detain Shepard from telling anyone in the outside world what happen...but then there's the Combine Invasion. and G-Man knew this would happen...so why bother detaining Shepard if everyone knows what happened in Black Mesa?
+Zack Wolf-Fox I believe that Shepard will return in H-F 3... if we ever see it, that is. There surely is some reason as to why all of this happened. G-Man is almost godlike anyway, which makes you wonder who his 'employers' may be.

That's a good point. maybe the combine invasion wasn't determined fully at that point
+Dr. Hollis Nah. Shepard didn't ever kill Black Mesa employees unless you as the Player made him, which can't really be seen as Canon, otherwise Freeman might just as well be a mass-murderer. He also never got the order to seek out & destroy Freeman, or act upon it during the one chance he actually encountered him. Not to mention, Freeman was already "hired" long before Shepard was "detained". There was no chance he'd be able to even kill him, with Gordon floating somewhere in between dimensions.
Considering his name, there might be a slight chance he'll be used by gman to 'guide' Freeman back on track in HL3 or whenever he appears. Freeman ís, thanks to the vortigaunts, acting up against gman's wishes after all. Simply showing him what happens if he goes too far through Eli Vance won't be enough nor give any guarantees to his "employers". Well, just my 2 cents.

Dude the ending to this game is so fucked up. After the credits, nothing happens. You just have to listen to the ambience until you quit the game.
Glider4 It's a glitch. Maybe load a save from earlier then try again. If it doesn't work, try not to move during teleportation. Or for a "cheater way", you can just type the last map of Opposing Force where you meet the G-Man (not sure the map name tho)
